Since April is our anniversary and Oct is footbrawl season, we'll stay with April. It's hard enough to wait that long.

We used DVC points and I'm not sure what it was. Amanda made the call this morning but she did tell me it was 8 more points for our 11b in October than April. I will ask her later and post it.

I can't believe this. My reservation confirmation, that I printed out on 4-7-11, the day I booked this cruise, indicated my final payment due date was 14-Feb-2012. So way back when, when we discussed this on these boards, my TA called DCL and got written confirmation that the final payment date was 1-Dec-2011. Then the discussion here was final payment was 31-Dec 2011. So, because I was basing the shirt order and payment date around final payment date, I called my TA again and asked her to call DCL and get another confirmation - in writing. They indicated this has been an issue and DCL has reversed the final payment date decision to be the original date February 14, 2012. They have justed faxed her confirmation of this date.

So, here we are, back to the original discussion. Many people don't want to pay or commit to paying for a shirt until they have made final payment for the cruise. They don't want to be stuck with shirts they may not use. As I previously stated, the shirt order date would have been tight, but would have worked when the Final Payment Date (FP dt) was in December -- but there is no way we can wait to order the shirts until after 2-14-12 and get them back in time.

I can just stick with the end-of-year dates but the issue is that if people won't order shirts until after the FP dt they will not be able to participate. If we have more then 50 but less then 100 orders, the cost will be the highest price, $45.75 plus any shipping charges if I mail them to you. Are shirt-buying cruisers, including the 75 who have pre-ordered, willing to pay this much? Will we get 100 or more paid orders if the shirt payment date is before FP dt? Will at least 50 of the 75 preordered pay?

First let me say thank you for taking on this project. I certainly don't want it to turn into a bigger headache than it probably already is. Just wanted to let you know that I would purchase the shirt even at the higher price.

This was a GREAT idea!! Stick with the time that will get the shirts to us with the least hassle for you and the company making them. We are in at the higher price.

Not switching to October personally. October is food and wine time at WDW. Will have to see what my roommate is thinking though. Although I am wondering if there will be fewer kids in October (we're hoping for adult time in the kids club like we had on the Panama)

If we were taking any grandkids (which we are not!) we would probably choose the Oct date over April. Missed work at school can be made up much easier early in the year than at the very end. IMHO

We will miss seeing you too! October just works out better since Amanda graduates in early May and she would have missed the cermony. Also we would have missed our great nephew's first birthday.
Since we are Platinum, we got to book today and the 11a was 586 DVC points for October.

Hi everyone! Just checking in! I can't seem to keep up with this thread! Are there lots of people considering switching to Oct Hawaii? We are def staying in April. Oct would not work for us.

We will stick with April. Graham has promised me that I would get to spend my birthday with the Mouse next year and as my birthday is in mid November, the October cruise is a no go.

Amanda and I switched this morning to the October Hawaii cruise. Those dates work out better for us. I was looking forward to seeing our WBTA friends again....

Please remove us from all the lists and have a great cruise. I will be looking forward to all the trip reports.

Would you please give me a heads-up on what time you will cancel your reservation? Since Aug 29th, I have called DVC Member Services a few dozen times trying to snag any cancellation for the April cruise.

We are platinum also. I relooked at the email and it is addressed to the Menard family, not us. We have gotten emails for them (whoever they are) for awhile and have tried to tell DCL that my email is not theirs. They evidently are not platinum.

You might ask if they (DVC) have a call list for this cruise, (DVC did not call it a standby or waitlist) we were on one for a January cruise

The shirts were not a dumb idea at all...Jason and I are still in. We're definitely not cancelling this cruise because it's our honeymoon....so we want shirts and we'll pay whatever they cost.

We are definitely staying in April since it's our official honeymoon and we have so many other DIS friends sailing on this one....also we agree with previous posters about the value of being on the first trip AND the extra sea day. (Plus April is out of cheer season so I won't have as much work to do with my girls...October falls right before our fall sectional tournament so missing two weeks then would be way harder)

I need to make a call out to someone who wants to take over this cruise meets thread... and probably do it better than I have! I apologize for that... just a whole lot going on and haven't had as much time as I should to keep up with this meet thread. I'm sorry.

Anyway- whoever would like to undertake the duties haha of starting the thread and keeping up with the info on the original post on each part of the thread/etc. until this cruise takes off- please start another thread and then I'll contact the mod back to close this one.

We are switching to the October Hawaii cruise. It just works better for us. If we had stuck with the April one- there's a pretty good chance that I might have to cancel it once the full pymt was due because I wouldn't know by Dec who would be going with us, if we needed both rooms or not, etc. A lot of changes going on around here and just not sure who would be cruising and who wouldn't and I'm not sure I could know that by Dec! So October works better for us. I'm sad about not being with all you guys though. sigh

As far as the thread is concerned, I would prefer it if we would just let this one run its natural course and once this is closed because it has reached 250 pages, then we can start over.

250 pages is a long way from 60 and obviously I'm not around to keep up with updating the original post as often as I should or even around much to read messages until like the one I read today from mid August......
