Persistence pays off! I was able to get a reservation on the April cruise by calling Saturday morning. It was a higher category than I was hoping for (Cat 7 - Navigator's Verandah), but maybe at some point I can downgrade. I wonder if there is another $95 fee to get a different cabin type, like a 10 or 9. We are absolutely thrilled to be on the ship no matter what the cabin is! They didn't have a cabin assignment for us yet, hope we get on the non-smoking side (was I supposed to request it?).

Welcome on board.

Corinna

Well, I am finally packed, checked in and I am now chilling out at the airport hotel. We will fly to Los Angeles tomorrow morning.

Welcome aboard! I believe the non-smoking side only relates to Deck 4.

We will also be at the Food and Wine Festival!

So Glad it worked out for you and welcome, I think we are also in a Cat 7 we like the Cat 7.

I agree with others about staying on this cruise as Food and Wine is also an annual trip for us. Will be there the end of Oct, OKW.

:dance3::hug::woohoo: Looking forward to dinner, Cove Cafe, tastings.

Oh, yeah!!! Geezers rule!

Have a wonderful trip, Corinna. And a blessed renewal.

Congrats and welcome to the crew.

We had a 7 for the WBTA last year and loved it. Can't tell you how many times we ordered breakfast in the room and ate on the verandah. We will definitely miss that in our 11 next year :sad1:, but I keep trying to console myself with the thought of what we can do w/the extra $$. Bottom line: we're thrilled to be going at all!!! :dance3:

We made the final decison today to cancel and go on the October sailing. I was looking forward to seeing so many of you. This just works better for us and is an answer to a prayer. With the Disney souvineer (from our Alaska cruise) due in May, we no longer have to stress about maybe missing his or her arrival. It will be my sister's first grandchild and she would NEVER want to miss that birth. I alos will not miss my grandson's birthday which happened to be the day we were setting sail. As nice as it would to be on the initial journey, Im just grateful I have an opportunity to have my cake and eat it too. Maybe we will meet again on another awesome cruise. I wish you all a safe and wonderful cruise. :grouphug:

It's been a while ... but just wanted to let you all know that Kirstyn and I are still on board with you all ... Can't wait ...

Thanks for all the Welcome Abroad greetings! I just added our info to the spreadsheet, but couldn't join the Facebook group because it is closed.

We are sticking with the April date for a couple of reasons:

1. Jamie gets out of college April 22nd or so and she is headed to Florida to WDW to work right after this cruise.

2. Jamie goes back to college towards end of August, so no way she could go in October.

3. I need another Ducky Williams litho and if I switch to October, that cruise won't get one since it is not the inaugural.

4. My brother and sister in law loved Alaska so much last month, that they rebooked on board for Hawaii so they are also joining us!

We just saw Ducky on the DVC Members cruise & he mentioned that he just finished the litho for the Fantasy Maiden Voyage and would be doing one for the inaugural Hawaii. (Also said there would be ones for the inaugural sailings out of New York, Galveston & Seattle).

Just checking in and letting you know we are still going on this cruise. I just "quietly lurk" a lot. We have another cruise in December that I am starting to focus on more.

Valbob89--we still plan on getting shirts no matter what price they end up being. You spent a lot of time and effort on the shirts. I do not think they were a dumb idea at all. I'm very excited about them. I agree with everyone else that what ever dates you choose for final orders and payment is fine with us. So do whatever works best for you. Although I will probably need to contact you earlier to get you the final payment because we will be cruising at the end of December. I will actually have to have my TA book our excursions for this cruise since I will be gone when booking opens.
