Thanks for the tip, I just called and asked and they do not have one for the April Hawaii cruise.

Well it was worth a try, then again you could call again and get a different answer form a different CM, well that has been my experience.

I need to make a call out to someone who wants to take over this cruise meets thread... and probably do it better than I have! I apologize for that... just a whole lot going on and haven't had as much time as I should to keep up with this meet thread. I'm sorry.

Anyway- whoever would like to undertake the duties haha of starting the thread and keeping up with the info on the original post on each part of the thread/etc. until this cruise takes off- please start another thread and then I'll contact the mod back to close this one.

We are switching to the October Hawaii cruise. It just works better for us. If we had stuck with the April one- there's a pretty good chance that I might have to cancel it once the full pymt was due because I wouldn't know by Dec who would be going with us, if we needed both rooms or not, etc. A lot of changes going on around here and just not sure who would be cruising and who wouldn't and I'm not sure I could know that by Dec! So October works better for us. I'm sad about not being with all you guys though. sigh

(this also means need to remove me from anything I signed up for, spreadsheet for roll call, etc.)

Whoever starts the new thread- I'll forward you another msg to add someone to the roll call/etc. I'd update it now but then you might start the new thread without them added. idk LOL

I am officially on vacation. We are not leaving until Sunday afternoon when we will check into one of the airport hotels and we don't fly out until Monday, but it is still a nice feeling.

I love the feeling of starting a vacation. I hope you have a great time and travel safely!

Since April is our anniversary and Oct is footbrawl season, we'll stay with April. It's hard enough to wait that long.

This is a great point. One of the many good things about April is it is only the early days of baseball season and nothing else. My husband would hate to be away from land and his precious Red Zone for so long in the throngs of football season!

Hi Everyone!!!!!
So, I've been away from the boards for a while, I had my baby boy Orlando on the 1st August, he is perfect in everyway.
We sold our house and bought another and are moving in a month, so between looking after a newborn and packing to move house I haven't had much spare time!
Can someone please let me know if there is anything major I've missed?
Has anything been finalised with the FE's?

Congratulations!

My son just booked me a flight to San Francisco the first week of December! He's moving to Palo Alto for his job the middle of October, but he has no apartment, he has to buy a car, and the first week of November he's going to New York City for his job.

So......he's leaving the cat with us (our grandcat) and I am taking her out to him in December. I have never flown with an animal (only Chuck and Patrick) anybody got any advice?

This is probably not the right thread to ask this, but you all seemto know everything!

Congrats to your son for getting a job, others have addressed the travel with a cat question.

Lets make this easier......all of you who have ordered fabric please either please tell us, by one of these methods, WHEN you really need it to arrive.

If you know someone planning to be on this cruise but who is not on disboard please contact them asap and tell them about shirts so if they want to order we can get a few more and maybe get price down. Can someone please post it on the facebook page also? Unfortunately I can't do it right now. If we get a little proactive we may be able to get cheaper AND try to make this a little easier on Val.

Hi all! I just thought I'd chime in. There's so much going on.
Val - I'm ordering the fabric, and I LOVE the idea of sending out the fabric as soon as it's ready to go. I also suggest keeping the payment date of December. Between now and December is a long time, and I bet people who are moving to the October cruise would also love some shirts.

And we're stickin' with the inaugural sailing to Hawaii. I'm also one of the ones who can't wait that long!

We get there Thursday so we can also celebrate the 40th birthday. So we are there for 9 nights then off to the Magic for a 7 night eastern (when we get off the Magic we will be Platium) then back for three more nights.

We are also not jumping ship for the October cruise. Since I am leaving the kids behind with grandma and grandpa, I'd like them to be in a school routine in April instead of them trying to get in a routine in October. I'd like everything to go as smoothly as possible for my IL's so that they are willing to wtahc the kids again next time I want/need to get away. LOL

For DVC members who used points for the April cruise who are SWITCHING to the October cruise...

Would you please give me a heads-up on what time you will cancel your reservation? Since Aug 29th, I have called DVC Member Services a few dozen times trying to snag any cancellation for the April cruise.

It was a higher category than I was hoping for (Cat 7 - Navigator's Verandah), but maybe at some point I can downgrade. I wonder if there is another $95 fee to get a different cabin type, like a 10 or 9. We are absolutely thrilled to be on the ship no matter what the cabin is! They didn't have a cabin assignment for us yet, hope we get on the non-smoking side (was I supposed to request it?).

Two things. There will be another 95$ fee if you change catagories. Also there is no non smoking side. DCL allows smoking on all verandahs. Good job getting a cabin. Welcome abord.

I think we are keeping April for the cruise. Although Chuck said he'd change to October if we can't get a verandah for the April date. I say just wait and see........
