I hope you don't mind me popping in and this may have already been posted but while in Hawaii

If you have time check out a ABC Store - they have a bunch of Hawaii stuff for gifts for back home

Enjoy your cruise

:)

How FANTAStic for you, I was on the DREAM MV and can attest to all the negativity. I even wrote a letter with suggestions....along with many others and it does seem like the merchandising team was well on top of this. I am glad that you had a pleasant experience. I acturally swore off another maiden because of the DREAM.

Thanks for updating us all.

They took my green away.....sad:confused:

But me too, same story about being on the Dream maiden voyage and swearing off all maiden voyages again.

I will do a new itinerary though.....like going to Hawaii.

If you're already a DVC member, there is usually one big gathering for members. And there are several (on a long cruise like this one) for prospective members. Usually there will be some good incentives for buying DVC while on the cruise if you want to buy directly from Disney and not resale.

As for the boarding with platinum it is a little different with kids. They aren't going to say kids are to stay in the terminal without the parents. I'm still gold and my friends are all platinum. I will likely need to choose an early boarding time but then I don't know what happens if I miss it. Best to have a book ready to read in the terminal.

Sorry--edited to say that my "kids" are adults.

When we arrived after our chosen time had passed we were told to walk right onto the ship as soon as possible.

Jan - it was just Day 3 - that is our spa day - aaaahhhh....But I think Day 3 might be a good day for the shirt photo....as I said...photoshop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

are you living in the Spa all day? We could plan the meet when you are done or before you go perhaps--need to have Hedgie there!

We are on page 185 of Part 4 of this thread. Will we make it to Part 5?

We still have over 2 weeks. I think we can. I think we can.

Dale

Corinna, I need to send you an updated list of Champagne Girls attendees. I won't get to do it until tomorrow though. Please just keep it in mind and look for it posted here. Thanks.

In case anyone else wants to exchange room numbers for the FE, we're in 7565! Feel free to PM me with your room numbers, even if you don't have extras. 17 days to go!:cool1:

Hi There DisneyManFamily4 - I'm eeyorelvr10 aka Laura. I'm in 6152 but I probably have 1 or 2 extra. I'm hoping that Corinna and Heather might include a "latecomers" group that is optional for anyone that came late. I accidentally (not ;)) got into all groups and since there are several of us that are doing all, I have a few extra. However, its the thought that counts right? And we are all "big" kids at heart. :thumbsup2 I don't usually label my gifts with my name and room number but I might this trip. :woohoo: I'm excited to get feedback on some of my gifts. :rotfl2:

We were on the Fantasy MV - DCL did an INCREDIBLE job of avoiding lines and mobs (and for those of us that were also on the Dream's MV this was a difference of night and day)!

They had an RSP for pins & limited edition collectibles - apparently everyone got what they wanted because by the 3rd or 4th day the stores had many of these out for sale.

The MV champagne flutes were in our stateroom when we arrived - one per person. They still had free champagne at the sailaway but it was in plain plastic flutes. (The Dream MV saw people collecting cases of the glasses, while many others were unable to even get one).

The Ducky Williams litho was given out already signed by Ducky - thus avoiding the near riot that occurred at his signing on the Dream MV when crew members attempted to re-direct the line.

And best of all - in the embarkation Navigator and on signs placed all around the stores:
"Maiden voyage, inaugural, & fantasy logo merchandise is limited to two per person, per size, per style." Because of this, the stores were fully stocked with tee shirts, hats, hoodies & all other maiden voyage merchandise for the entire cruise.

Debbie

Yay Debbie - thanks for posting this. The Dream MV was the reason I didn't do the Fantasy (among other reasons) but I was so turned off by the stampede on the Dream and I swore I would NEVER do another MV again. The people were horrendous and I was the one that had a DB purse swiped right out from under me at the counter AND IT WAS PAID FOR. Witches - they were ridiculous. I hope whoever took it that the bag ripped or was stolen. Yes! It was that horrible. I also was one that didn't get a glass flute while others walked around with CASES - and I mean CASES of empty glasses which I thought was terribly tacky Come on, have some tack. Anyway, so happy to hear that they may have fixed the problem but of course, this is the West Coast and they tend to do things 1/2 backwards. I thnk this may be a game of wait and scream. Fingers crossed though.

My roommate's platinum. I'm assuming I'll be able to board with the other platinii, even if I get to the port before she does. My friends have a car so I'm driving there with them (but not my roommate, she is on a different plane.)

I haven't checked in yet so I haven't done the "pick a port time" bit but if we're driving from Long Beach I don't know what time we might get there. Probably early.

I believe this is correct. A platinum in the room gets you some perks.

DVC meets are the best! they usually give out prizes and they have champagne to drink
:yay::yay::yay:

Or coffee....not always champagne, but sometimes.

We were told that people must board by their own CC category regardless of their roommates so our kids would have to board with SILVER even though we are PLATINUM but when we got to Port Canaveral, we just stayed together and walked on together and no one asked. But if you are alone they might make you wait for your number to be called. But it is LA and who knows :confused3

Jan

I called this morning to ask just this question as we are platinum and are sailing with a couple that are silver. I spoke with "George" and he looked in the "rules" and said yes, they can board with us. They sailed with us to Alaska and we just waited with them on that cruise, their first. But, I had heard since then that they should be able to board with us so I decided to check as we really don't want to give up that perk. :rolleyes1 Hopefully, the folks at the port with have the same rule book to refer to. :confused3

On the MR cruise right now and they offered 2 DVC meetings. I missed them both but hope to go to one on the Hawaii cruise. For those of you who are members, I am sure I'll be seeking you out looking for your guidance and knowledge on the matter. I know it's based off points but done differently than my Marriott timeshare (of which, I don't completely understand how it all works...that was my Dh's job and now that my FIL has been handling it, I need him to sit me down and explain it all to me!)
Everyone of us will want to have their say:rotfl: It's really easy once you get the hang of it!

On the TA, we were a platinum a gold and a new cruiser. Each got her proper lanyard (and NONE for the newbie) but we all boarded together.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

OUTRAGEOUS!

I sure hope this is how they run things in LA for us. :cool1: But we were told in October 2011 that the Platinums could board as soon as we arrived and our adult kids, who are silver would have to board when their number came up. I so hope they have fixed that!! :thumbsup2

DD and I are going to Vegas after the cruise. Just remembered that I forgot to book our flights home. :rotfl2: DH is flying home right after the cruise. I made a reservation for Enterprise picking it up at LAX and dropping it off at the Doubletree. I was quoted $282.06 for a standard car - 10% off for entertainment book rate. They not only charge alot extra for a one way rental but they charge an additional $40 for the drop off fee. I booked on my own :surfweb: round trip to and from LAX for a premium car and got it for around $100 for the 3 days. DH will return the car at LAX on the evening of the 28th and take the supper shuttle back to the Doubletree in time for our "Minnie" Dis Meet. Okay so now I know I am flying to LA and now have the airfare to fly home from Vegas. :thumbsup2 I have the car rental and the room reservation. Tickets for a tv show. I'm going to Hawaii on Disney.
I'm excited. :yay: Have no idea what the weather is like or what to pack. :confused3 That's making me anxious.

Bev :)

:confused3 How will you get from Los Angeles to Las Vegas?

I am so frustrated with the DCL website and its activity pages!! I want to print a list of all my booked activities...but will not do this since I changed one - day two of activity booking. I want to see exactly what is booked on any given day and all the thing says when I looked it up and get the 14 day trip planner is "port activity"...won't even link to a description.

I also wanted to make a list of all the scheduled activities Disney has at one particular port and that type of info is not in any handy form like it was before bookings opened. I think they have one of the more user unfriendly cruise sites out there!

Hopefully I will get a chance to call them tomorrow and see how they do this or if like other questions they can't "help" the web is what the web is and no CM seems to know how to navigate it either.

Oh...it also told when I went to look at calendar that I could not book anything unless the other FIVE groups I was "linked" with were online to book also. I am not linked with anyone:sad2:

Took your green away?? :confused3. Money??

Ask to talk to a website person!!

Last i looked, in the upper left on your cruise schedule section there was an option to e-mail it to yourself. There was a choice to get one day or
The whole cruise :yay:

.

Thank you to everyone that answered my question about DVC. Yes, we are looking to join the family! And, seeing that they may have incentives to book while we are on board seems like a sweet deal.

Also, thank you to those willing to answer any questions that I will have. I will gladly buy a round (or order some chocolate chip cookies as this seems to be the favourite here), to discuss how you guys like it.

One more happy dance for receiving my documents today!
It just makes it feel sooooooooo much closer!

No such option anymore  I'll try to call tomorrow if we are home from Dr appts when they are still answering calls.....

My wife and I are on the last Disney Wonder Cruise to the Mexican Riveria before the Wonder goes on your Hawaii cruise.

We are wondering if it is possible to get any "Last Second" deals to stay on the ship and go to Hawaii ?

We got the time since we are retired. We would do our 7 day Mexican Riveria trip and continue on for the 15 day Hawaiian cruise. Has anyone done this before?
