This had me a little sad at first when I realized it because the kids won't be traveling with me. Then I quickly remembered that Mother's Day at my house is just like any other day and most days I'm at home wishing I was on the "mickey boat!". So I'll just call them from Ensenada! I'm hoping I get one little "I miss you" from at least one of my kids as a Mother's Day gift!

Grumpy old lady here. If people do not respond by the 3rd pm, they're off the list and I wouldn't bring their stuff. I am a FIRM believer in tough love. On the other hand, I'm a pushover for an FE, so if there's one on the door but not on my list, they're probably going to get someting.

We have noticed on the last few cruises that other groups have started this FE tradition also, so just be advised - if you see a FE on a door, it might belong to another group, not ours.

I may have to contact work for a quick report while we are at sea. How does WIFI work on ship? Can I just use DD iPad in stateroom? Or do I need to go to Cove Cafe? Is there a cost? Thanks for any help. I've not had to do this before. fran

Fran, you have two options. You can buy an internet package and use it in your stateroom with your iPad, but the connection is often slow or knocks you off a lot. You can go to the Cove Cafe or the Atrium where the signal tends to be stronger. OR you can go to the computer center next to the Promenade Lounge and for a fee you can use their computers. This tends to be a good signal. If you're only going to use it one time, I would suggest the least expensive way of going to the computer center. If you are going to use it more often, for convenience you may want to purchase an internet package. They usually charge X amount of minutes for X amount of dollars. I don't recall what the exact rates are offhand. I hope this helps.

Yes you can use the Ipad or the ships computers but there is a fee. its like 75 cents a minute i believe or you can get the package which would work both for the ipad and the ship computers. if you use the ipad its no different then the computers youd still need to log in and all that fun stuff where youll choose if you want to use one of the two packages.. but the internet is extremely slow even in the internet cafe. and just a suggestion if you have a smart phone shut off the data package while your away or just leave your phone off. My mom didnt listen to me when i told her it doesnt matter how much internet she uses the minute she gets online she'll be charged she was using the ships towers and it ended up costing her over 2hundred dollars until she called verizon and had them add the data package that she needed. i hope this helps any

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but just read on All Ears that Cars Land will be opening on June 15 at DCA! Do you think we will get a soft opening? We will be there May 14 .. How far in advance do they do soft openings? Don't know when I will get back to DL ?

I'm so hoping for that too. It's usually just a couple weeks (or so) early for the soft opening, but this is a HUGE opening so I'm hoping they start early to work the kinks out. We go to DL a lot, but I try to avoid it June, July & Aug.!!

I have seen those too! But they are actually great for those random acts of kindness when you have candy left over!! I wondered if some of the spreading of this activity came from so many people making FEs on ebay, etsy, etc. Or maybe cross-overs from the DIS to others?

But, I have to say, it did foil my old method of just going down the halls & distributing to anyone with an FE, instead of checking my list!!

I still working on getting the shirts ready to ship. I have them all sorted and half way through packaging.

Assuming I can believe the size tags on the shirts, I find I do not have what Becky told me, twice, what would be in the box. I had to call Eeyorelvr10 and let her know I would be sending her $ back to her because I don't have an extra size Large shirt that I was told I would have. From what I have heard the only soft opening will be AP previews held the 4 or 5 days prior to the official opening, so it seems we're out of luck.

When I realized this, I was happy as it's just my daughter and I cruising, so we will be better. We were on the Wonder last Mother's Day, and I got breakfast. from Beach Blanket Buffet, in Bed!

Then I realized that this will be a different Mother's day as it will be the first one without my Mom ... so if you see me walking around Ensenada on the last day of our cruise looking down in the dumps ... it won't be just because its the last day of our cruise.
