April 29, 2012 ~ Aloha! ~ Inagural Wonder to Hawaii-Part 4

When I realized this, I was happy as it's just my daughter and I cruising, so we will be better. We were on the Wonder last Mother's Day, and I got breakfast. from Beach Blanket Buffet, in Bed!

Then I realized that this will be a different Mother's day as it will be the first one without my Mom  ... so if you see me walking around Ensenada on the last day of our cruise looking down in the dumps ... it won't be just because its the last day of our cruise.

:grouphug:Aw....does this help.:grouphug:

I was going to just get them vest sets, but just for fun, I started looking at tuxes, and they aren't much more expensive than the vest suits. So, they will be having dinner in black tuxes with tails!.. I love tails! :rotfl:

I used to get the little complete tux sets on ebay when DS was little...he loved to dress up. Then as he outgrew them each yr, they would get passed on to our cruising buddies' younger boys. It was so much fun & he looked so cute. Then he graduated to a real tux...from Overstock dot com, of course!! Can't wait to see all the youngsters all dressed up....the girls get to be princesses, I guess, but the boys in their vests & tuxes are too cute too.

We will be joining you on the wine tasting...We are leaving my Mother mainland, so I must remember to have something special sent to her that day!

Oh great! That is really a fun trip, assuming it's similar to when I did it with RCCL a few yrs back....and I get to stock up on my favorite olive oil that they make too!!! :woohoo: <---not a wine glass, but I can't find it...lol

Oh wow...they will be so handsome :) My son won't wear jacket so vest is the most I can get him onto :)

Very Good Point, Lexa!!!

So, I'm thinking I should pick another date/time for this to ensure everyone who wants to participate can regardless of the kids' clubs. Heck - we'd be in the same boat!

Let me check with Corinna as to what days/times are open.

I guess I should let the fellas decide if they'd rather play on a sea day going over or coming back (or both!)

Thought??

That would be great...the most important thing is that guys get their activity done, since girls will have so much fun with everything else....

I hope that mine with wear theirs, at least long enough for pictures!.. I almost ordered them white tuxes, then I rememebered that they are almost 5 and 2, and thought better of it!.. White tuxes and toddlers would probably not make a good dinner combo! :lmao:

Just a quick question about the bingo on board.. My Mom LOVES to play bingo, and is looking forward to it in the ship.. Does it cost to play on board bingo? And do they pay cash prizes or just like spa vouchers and things? Any info would be a great help!

Yes it costs to play Bingo and it's pretty steep. They have paper sheets and electronic sets. I have done both and it adds up quickly however it's a lot of fun. Perhaps someone can tell you more exact prices. Yes to cash prices. Also some giveaways when they "spin the wheel" so to speak.

Animosity is a pretty strong word. I did not sense any animosity from anyone. :confused3 For those that are actually doing the planning of events, the more places we need to check and notify people, the more difficult it is. Those who have experienced this pointed out the challenges of this early on and it was agreed that the planning would be done here. Personally, I have more trouble keeping up with the FB page than the DIS. Scan one thread here or read 4 or 5 on FB. Just my thoughts.

:thumbsup2 I too have trouble keeping up with Facebook.

Ok - I have been looking at this list that Heather created....she has done so much work it is overwhelming.

I have two different names for the same cabin that are very similar...is this one person (typo)? or are there two different people in the cabin??

Poohluv2u 2136
Pooluv2 2136

Just a little clarification please?
Cayla

Eek  that's me .... Poohluv2u - 2136

Looking at the roll call I bet that is a typo because there is no other name but the second one. Interesting is that they are listed for 8 of the 9 sections...all but my section #1 Heather I can't imagine how you kept track of all that wanted more than one section

We are only listed in eight so that group one can keep at 25 people .. never fear, we will still pass out goodies to those on that list, even if we aren't included in the group :goodvibes

These are so adorable, I wish I could wear something other than gold in my ears so I could buy some too :headache:

AAWWW! Our youngest DGS had just turned 3 when he first cruised with us. He LOVED his dress up clothes so much! He insisted that he wear his dress shoes even with his bathing suit. :lmao: One of my favorite photos of him is on deck, sitting on the steps by the pool in his bathing suit and black dress shoes. :goodvibes:rotfl:

Oh yes, it costs!! The prizes are cash and the final days can get quite large. Several thousand. We don't play often though.....we are lucky in love,:lovestruc not with money!

Here are the pictures I promised of us modeling our shirts and of my dining room. I also had Bob take a picture of the a couple of the banners and posters I got "free" from Vista we might want to hold or put in front of us in our group picture.

Sandy - do you use Vistaprint? I have never tried them and am about to...any hints? Thanks...Irene.

Irene, I am using Vistaprint. This is my first experience with them. I sent you a pm. I can let you know how they turn out however it says it takes 14 days.

OMG, Val. We posted at the same time. I just have to tell you AWESOME shirts but wow, lots of work. I truly appreciate your time and effort. HUGS!

Lots of work. I'm not doing FE put a sneaked a peek to see who was on the same deck and this is a lot of work....

Actually, this was not as much work as I thought it would be.

Hope you got this.

Yes, I go this. Thanks.

Oh wow Corinna...you did a wonderful job. Thank you!

These are SO helpful Corinna! Thank you so much!

Corinna, thank you - thank you - thank you!!! I always do my FE gifting by staterooms and decks. What you have done is perfect and saves me lots of time putting it together. A million thanks!!!

Corinna, your organizational skills are amazing! Thank you for those FE lists!

Thank you for the new list by decks. It was a big help.

Val - hoping for good news on the other tests too

Prayers and good thoughts for everyone that need them

Thank you!!!!!!!! I was just getting ready to do this task, looking up names, ages, genders.... & am so happy you shared it!

You are welcome. This was entirely self-serving. I needed a breakdown by women , men, boys and girls as I am not doing cabin gifts this time but individual gifts. I very quickly realised that I fo not have enough gifts for the women so I ordered some more supplies to make more. As I had done the work anyway, I though I might as well share.

Not to barge in here with a totally unrelated topic, but, prior to Facebook, I was on DisBoards pretty regularly. I had some time, so I logged in. I can't believe the last time I logged in was a year ago!

Hello everyone. Good to be back!:sail:

Hi Susan :wave2:

Changes made to FE today and that should be it. Still waiting on the no dis name son to email me,if I dont get a cabin or respnse then they can just be crossed off or you can cross them off now as they are only in one group anyway and ive emailed him twice with no response.
I had made maps and different sheets for the port meeting but corinna beat me to it so just print hers and I wont bother.

Heather, I am so sorry. I did not mean to step on your toes. If I had known that you were working on something like this, I would have held back.

Let me check with Corinna as to what days/times are open.

I won't know this until about two weeks prior to sailing when DCL will confirm rooms, etc for special events.

Corinna

Totally agree. I sent PM's to everyone on scrapbooking. Out of 60 people, 20 have given no response. The other 40 were awesome. It is just really hard to plan when I am spending time putting together packets based on how many scrapbookers signed up. If the 20 that haven't responded have changed their mind, all they need to do is contact me. I am sure there are more that would want to participate. The other thing is, I am hauling all this stuff to the ship, and I only want to take what is being used. Don't want to bring back extra stuff. Paper and books are just so heavy.

Okay.....I have vented. Back to normal......

Yikes 20 people is a lot of people to not hear back from. I would love to do a scrapbook class with you, but I don't do 12x12 layouts. If you end up with a left over kit, rather than you having to haul it back home, I would buy it from you.

OMG, Val. We posted at the same time. I just have to tell you AWESOME shirts but wow, lots of work. I truly appreciate your time and effort. HUGS!

I've used Vista Prints for ever. The best thing about them is their customer service. If you are having problems with any of the art tech they will be more then happy to help you. If you get your products and they aren't the quality you expect call them. They will reprint and send them to you with no questions asked. This morning I called them because UPS had screwed up with my free 7 day mailing. I was telling Vista they shouldn't be charged the express mailing when UPS never delivered the item and isn't even sure where it is now. They not only thanked me but offerred to call UPS and to send me another package of the stuff (most of it free stuff) with 3 day shipping - free. When I told her perhaps we should wait and see if UPS ever finds the first package she told me they might never and anyway it missed the 7 days window so she was going to send me another. When I asked if she wanted me to send back the first if it arrives, she said absolutely not.

Never Never Never pay full price. There are deals going on all the time. They are on e-bates at 5% right now but some of the deals I find they offer me are even better. I never never pay for shipping unless I have to have the item right away and can't wait for a deal. If you have the time, take advantage of all the "free" stuff they will offer you, it does cost you the time to upload the art and it can get pricey if you upload a bunch of new items.

Therefore, see if someone on the boards has already ordered an image you want and see if you can use their account. Perhaps they would let you order from the account, using your address and credit card info.

If you have any other questions PM me.

If you want to get some and can find gold Fishhook findings, I can swap them out for you on the ship as I will have my jewellery tools with me. It literally would take seconds.

Here are the pictures I promised of us modeling our shirts and of my dining room. I also had Bob take a picture of the a couple of the banners and posters I got "free" from Vista we might want to hold or put in front of us in our group picture.

Wayyyyyy too expensive for my blood. I wish they would bring the price down and just play for Disney type prizes.
