My husband has been making fun of me since we booked this cruise a few weeks ago. I've been reading this thread non-stop, to gather all the extremely valuable information you all have to offer. Never having cruised before, it's been so helpful. But it took a long time to read it, and he's been calling me a stalker. I'm not, but I don't have much to say, other than thanks for the help you didn't realize you were giving, and we're looking forward to the time with our little ones. I'll be at the little people meet with our son (6) and daughter (3). They're so excited to go on "the hotel boat."

Welcome. :goodvibes You sure picked a great one for your fisrt cruise. But beware - they are very addictive! LOL :dance3: Fran=Palana and Laura = Lala

Wanted to join in all the fun! We will be sailing with everyone else in April. This is only our second cruise. We are seasoned WDW travelers and just starting cruising last year on the dream. We really enjoyed ourselves and so we booked this one! We will be spending a few days at Disneyland before the cruise since we have never been there. We from Kansas and will be bringing two little kids along, an almost 2 year old and a 3.5 year old. Really looking forward to it!

On DS's first cruise in 2000, he was thrilled to go to a counter & be handed a slice of cheese pizza, on demand! It's the little things....!!

Mine is Kepi....it's only a little better than Pewi. I like Gary....Kali is nice. John is Keoni. So we're Kepi and Keoni....hahaha.

Actually yours is not bad at all!! When I read mine I think of Pepe le Pue...lol Guess that's French though...:rotfl:

I always request 5122....so does Bev/dylan'smom. I always get it as long as Bev is not in it and vice versa. I HAD it for this cruise, but then DCL kicked me out and put me next door in 5124. They said that my room will remain empty. I don't know why. Probably because Bev paid them off so that she could be in it. hahaha....j/k.

:rolleyes1

Isn't that the cabin that Ducky uses? If so, I am sure he will be in it - he mentioned it the last time I saw him.

Oh no, Deb!!!!! More competition for our room!! :lmao:

Thanks. Now that you mention it.....hummmm......Pepe Le Pue was a favorite cartoon of mine back in the day.

What is going on with me and my rooms. I picked the closest equivalent location on the Dream maiden voyage. It turned out to be 5150 the one with the oversized deck....which we didn't know. NOW everyone wants that room AND they upgraded it because of the deck.

I though NO ONE wants deck 5 aft so I was safe on the classic ships. Now even that's in demand. I hope they don't upgrade it because it's so popular. hahaha.

Getting ready to spend Spring Break at Ft. Wilderness, but all I can think about is going to Hawaii!!!
:yay:

Deb - Try this "NALO MELI MOI'I WHAINE". I think it fits, read on.

my book provides a different translation.

Debra = are from the Hebrew and mean bee or Queen Bee. In ancient times it was thought the bee could foretell the future and in ancient Egypt, the bee significed royal power.

In Hawaiian, NALO MELI is the workd for honeybee. The queen bee would be NALO MELI MOI'I WHAINE. (I cannot place the accent on the letters in this script).

And I sent a paypal for the Champagne Girls.

WOW This is weird. Your Hawaiian name and mine are the same.

Dale aka Kaila

Dale - here is a different translation --- MEA NOHO I KE AWAWA

Dale is a name that can be used for bth girls and boys. It is from the old English and means a dweller in a valley.

In Hawaiian, MEA NOHO I KE AWAWA would mean a dweller (AWAWA meaning valley).

The Hawaiianized-English form however is KAILA.... whish is the the Hawiianized form of the English word "style".

I'm glad I checked our flights tonight. They changed our last leg in Chicago and now we have 40 minutes to get off the plane and to different gate to catch the flight home. I hate ORD because coming in or going out..you are always late. Seems they cancelled our flight #, but there are other 2 lights and they moved us to one who has only 40 minutes layover...need to call them tomorrow....they also moved our confirmed seats from the front of our plane to way back....what in the world????? Do I need to say that I didn't get a phone call or email about changes.....

EEEEK...:scared1:What a mess.....

Note to self, check and confirm flights.....

Bob just came back from his dr.'s appointment and we stopped at his favorite GW on Haight and Ashbury to look for vintage Hawaiian shirts. He found 3, one from the 60's, orange, brown and black and one made between 1940 -1970 (he dates them by the labels) that is lime green and cream. I found him a Tommy Bahama that he let me buy him, black with bird of paradise (much prettier then the ones he found). I got two Catherine Coulter books.

I hope all was fine with the MD. BUT...under no conditions should we allow our hubbies to meet.....there is not enough Hawaiian fabric in this world....

the last thing anyone of us needs is another thing to organize...but how about....Crazy Hawaiian Shirt Night.....:rotfl:

Hi Irene, that's too confusing and I can't even say it much less remember it. I think I'll stick with Kepi and it goes well with Keoni.

I DID get your payment. Thank you so much. It won't be long now!!!

Yay!.. Another Kansan!..I was beginning to think I was going to be the only Dorothy going!

Welcome Aboard! :cool2:

Cayla aka Kaila (don't like the spelling, I think the pronouncation is most likely the same)

Here is my selection = KALAUNA MAILE
My second choice is 'ILIKEA

The book is stuck so I had to do some reseach.

Cayla \ca(y)-la\ as a girl's name is pronounced KAY-lah. It is of Irish and Gaelic origin, and the meaning of Cayla is "slim and fair". From Caoilainn. Also possibly from the Yiddish name Kelila meaning "crown of laurel", or used as a short form of Michaela. Variant of Kayla. Cayley and other variants follow the rhyming patterns of Bailey and Kaylee.

Cayla has 22 variant forms: Caela, Caila, Caileigh, Cailey, Cailie, Caleigh, Caley, Callie, Caylee, Cayleen, Cayleigh, Cayley, Caylia, Caylie, Kaileigh, Kailey, Kailie, Kaleigh, Kayla, Kaylee, Kayleigh and Kayley.

For more information, see also the related name Kaila.

Kaila \ka(i)-la\ as a girl's name is pronounced KYE-lah, KAY-lah, kye-EE-lah. It is of Hebrew and Hawaiian origin, and the meaning of Kaila is "the laurel crown; style". See also Cayla and Kayla.

So fair (in complexion) translates to 'Ilikea
All I can get for slim is a translation for slime so I will ignore that.

Or if you perfer the root meaning traced to Laurel crown.

Crown is Kalauna

There is no laurel plant on Hawaii but I remember that leis are often made with the maile leaft. So combining the two you get Kalauna Maile.

Corinna

wow - THANKS....AND MOVING THIS FORWARD....

OK, So I have my documents, and it is 4 weeks tomorrow until we leave for USA (We are spending a few days in San Diego first). So, I am starting to think about packing for myself, my hubby, my 2 tween girls and my baby boy, and quite frankly, it's hurting my brain!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

We are away for just over 3 weeks total. So I am thinking 3 weeks worth of nappies (diapers), wipes, food, etc. There's 1 whole suitcase. I was reading a few post back about the delivery service on the ship, I think I need to look further into this.

Oh and, What about food? Will Disney make food for my baby? Or do I need to bring it all? He will be 9 months, so still eating mostly mush. Will they bring me a plate of mashed or well cooked veges? I can give him fruit from the buffet for breakfast. And can i order a sandwich from room service for lunch for him? HELP!!!:confused3:confused3:confused3

I have my Hawaiian name, Hayley = Hailei
And the rest of the family, Terry = Keli, Lucinda = Lukina, Arabella = Alapela, Orlando = Olanako. I really like all of them and am very tempted to have a whole new FE made with our Hawaiian names.... :rolleyes1

I read someone got moved out of the accessible room and got upgraded, anyone else had any pixie dust? Didn't think it would happen on this cruise as it's so booked, but you never know.... ;)

Love the idea of a Hawaiian Fish Extender...

is there a little devil smilie?

Guess not.....

Jan -

Didn't you use a travel agent? If so, the docs will usually go to them first and then they send them to you. I just got mine last Saturday so you should look for them this week. If not, contact your travel agent.

Dale (Hawaiian name Kaila)

Dale - you are right - I did go through a travel agent. I can bug them.
Didn't think about that. THANKS!!

And our Hawaiian names are:

Jan(et) - Kaneki, or Kana for Jan.
Tom - Koma
