I got married on the Disney Wonder in May 2009 in the Cadillac Lounge. It was awesome. Having friends and family there was great. But you are going to have about 2000 of your new closest friends with you to celebrate. Doesn't get much better than that. Secret Mickey

If you have ever participated in Secret Santa, then you have a good idea what this is about. You will be allocated a family or an individual and it is then your task to spoil them rotten during the cruise. The budget for this is $25 to $30. This does not have to be anything faqncy. During the cruise, you should drop a little something off for your Secret Mickey 2 or 3 times. This can be a note, some candy, a souvenir, a magnet, etc. On the last sea day there will be a reveal session and during this, you should give your Secret Mickey a slightly bigger present.

Just posted on facebook page the realm names of some of those who haven't contacted you in case you want to pm them on facebook...I would do it for you but we are going to lose power shortly..blinking lights and warning on TV of wind storm with gusts up to 50 mph...glad I have 3 book lights so I can read all day it is dark outside!

Thanks for signing up using the form. We are going to split the Secret Mickeys in half so that MJGirl and I can take part without knowing who our Secret Mickey is. So can you please make sure that you let whoever sends you the PM with your Secret Mickey know any changes on embarkation day?

Secret Mickey and Scavenger Hunt

Every time I go into into the Roll Call Spreadsheet, I find new people signed up on the Secret Mickey and Scavenger Hunt spreadsheets. Please do not use those to sign up, but the links that I post once a week both on here and on the Facebook group. The only reason why I have not deleted those tabs yet is so that people who signed up on there, but have not signed up using the form will not get forgotten. Once everybody has signed up using the form or told me that they are no longer participating, I will delete those tabs.

We get in late afternoon before the cruise. Will stay at the airport Marriot. Nice little store close by for "supplies". Good restaurant close by. Catch the DCL shuttle at the airport. Nice and relaxed.

Would you mind sharing the name of the restaurant? Not sure where we'll be eating that night, so it would be nice to have some info. Thanks!

Is there anyone else taking the Disney transportation to the port? I was told we would get picked up at Paradise Pier at noon and we can pre register for the cruise at the GC- does anyone know about this?

We're at DLH. There are 5 of us so I am still on the fence about Disney transfers. I know they cost more, but the simplicity is appealing. We'll use them when we debark as well since we're heading straight to the airport.

My DW and I are taking DCL transportation....we love the fact that when they take the luggage we don't touch it again until we get it in our stateroom and then you put it out the night before and then get it at JFK airport....I know that it is a little more money but we pay for that.

We are soooo excited, but a little overwhelmed with shore excursions!

There are things we would like to do but don't seem to be offered as excursions.

Anyone have thoughts on getting excursions not through the cruise? Makes me a bit nervous...

We are soooo excited, but a little overwhelmed with shore excursions!

There are things we would like to do but don't seem to be offered as excursions.

Anyone have thoughts on getting excursions not through the cruise? Makes me a bit nervous...

Welcome to the crew! Be sure to check page 1 of this thread for some of the groups and events we have going on. I think there is still time to put your names in for custom lanyards.

Quite a few cruisers are making their own plans. I know there is a group that is going to a luau independently; not sure who is heading that (but I'm sure it's cheaper than DCL). DH and I are among those who are hesitant to go outside DCL for excursions too, so I understand where you're coming from.

We took the Alaska cruise in August and made all of our own plans - it allowed us to be more flexible with our times and what we wanted to do and was WAY cheaper than anything DCL had put together.

We spoke to dozens of private companies and they made it crystal clear that if they ever got a customer back to their ship too late, the news would fly like wildfire (on boards like these) and they would be out of business!

So, my advice is if you would like to do some non-DCL excursions, but are nervous about planning it all yourself, look at some of the other big name tour operators (i.e., shoretrips.com) and consider booking with them if they can offer you something that DCL can't

I'm the one planning the alternative luau in Maui. Because we have so many folks likely participating, I will be contacting DCL to let them know our plans both in advance of the trip and once we are underway. I'm sure they would want to know where 75+ of their people are in case there is any problem at all.

My husband and I would like to spend the day at Aulani when we are in Oahu. We were wondering if anyone else is thinking the same. We spoke with Patti at DVC sales at Aulani and she did tell me that they were trying to still get an excursion together for the cruise. She will let me know something by the end of the week. If not- we were thinking of reserving a night so we could participate in all the activities including use of the pool and wondering if anyone would like to "split" the cost of the room. We can have 4 people in a studio. We would not use the room but get all the privileges of staying there The activities look great at Aulani and none of the other excursions appealed to us. I'm interested in knowing what others are doing

We also signed up for the Luau that is being planned...Thanks to everyone for all the hard work in planning many of the other fun things

Last I heard, west coast Disney doesn't offer the luggage transfer from stateroom to airport.
