Can you pay for your ship board account with Disney Gift Cards? I have a few that I forgot to take to WDW with me, so I was planning on using them on this cruise!..

You sure can...just visit Guest Services onboard and have them apply your gift card balances to your account.

We're waiting to hear an update on the fish extender situation, as well. I've already started preparing some of what we'll do with a group of about 25 staterooms in mind (although I could plus or minus a few)...so I really hope that's still the direction we're going!



The last time we did it and it was broken into groups, the organizer split people up into stateroom groups of 20-25 cabins each and people had the option to say if they'd like to be in more than one group (so that then they would be giving and receiving to a larger number of cabins). I suppose it's entirely possible that you could ask to be in EVERY group if you were that ambitious!



I think it was threebritts (or something close to that)...but she has not been active on this thread in a very very very long time (although I think I did meet her in passing on the repo/Alaska cruise this past April and May). We're getting much closer to our sail date and so I guess I'd suggest that if someone knows how to get in touch with her and ask her if she's still organizing and can give everyone an update, etc., that would be great....otherwise maybe someone else needs to volunteer to help organize it?

It was threebritts that wanted to do the FE list. She is a friend of mine and I'll get in touch with her and ask her to come over here and let us know what she wants to do.

Charlotte and I would be happy to proceed with planning a vow renewal ceremony. My only concern is that those who do participate are pleased with it. To try and achieve that, they would have to be involved in approving the plans and be involved in the decision making as much as they wanted to be. I don't want anyone to be disappointed about something so important. If at least 11 other couples want to participate we will certainly do this. If people will e-mail me at valbob89@aol.com that they are interested I'll send them more info and they can decide if they want to participate. That way people who aren't interested don't have to read about it on the boards.

I wanted to do it, but I think I'll back out of it now. I don't want to spend the $1500 to do it properly at this time. I'm not sure what the $25 version is, but I don't think that's what I want either. I'll wait until our 25th anniversary and do it up.

Yes, don't worry about taking up space...we have lots of it!! Like they said, just make a few short posts & you will be at 10!!

We reserved a room at Aulani as well, using DVC points. Not sure about the transportation yet, but who knows? ...Maybe we can catch a ride with DVC, at least one way!!

The DVC sales group on the Wonder last month said they are frantically pushing for a trip there from the boat, for a quick look or maybe a lunch & tour, so we will see what they come up with.

Thanks for the comments everyone! We are SOOOO excited to be on this cruise and I am SOOOO excited to have found you guys here. Seriously, combining the magic of Disney with Hawaii and a group of people that share and love the same things really ramps up the game! And, not only are we going to love the cruise we are going to love meeting you guys and doing all the "extras" being set up by the DisBoard.

A little tid bit about us. T is 10yrs and he's been to DL 8 times. J was there even before she was born. Me and the Mrs., well, we just big o'l kids. This is our 3rd cruise but let me tell you this....our goal will to be Platinum!

Here's a shout to my new friends around the world.......

However, with the help of one of our friends (a Disney expert) he made up for it a few months later - he gave me "an event" in the Magic Kingdom. You know - rose garden, settee, diamond bracelet, wedding cake, wedding ears, glass slipper and sweet words, followed by fireworks. THAT is a hard act to follow, especially for $25

I'm really happy to go along with whatever the group decides on. It sounds like there are some who want smaller groups & some who want one large one, so hopefully by dividing into groups of 20 or 25, those who want to include more people can just sign up for one, two, or however many groups they want. (?) I guess t depends on how it all comes together. I've experienced it with all options & it was really just on the ebta in 2011 that it was weird because so many groups had very few who were just doing one group.

But the only "rule" for FEs, that I'm aware of anyway, is to just have FUN with it, so we can structure it any way we want, most likely!!

Your welcome. You did make me raise a eyebrow though as you asked for the family one but I did not see two separate ones, just the one. The only adult only one I saw that included Pearl was the Arizona and city tour. If this had a Adult only I would have booked that insted. Not that I have anything agenst kids, just since we don't have any, no need to take space from a family.

I totally understand If I would sail without kids I would book adult only too

I was reading over on the Cruise Critic boards about a good movie:

During a recent visit to Hawaii, the locals (some who are friends of ours) recommend watching the following movie that is based on a true story. It can be rented or purchased from Amazon: Princess Ka'iulani

It's the touching story of the overthrow of Hawaii and Princess Ka'iulani (the last princess) who was heir to the Hawaiian throne.

There is also a Special Features section that include documentary of the princess, a commentary by the director, and behind the scenes.

We got the movie over the weekend and it is pretty good! Really shows some of the history of the overthrow of the island. I do recommend it.

CHRIS! Glad to be able to cruise with you again...and since I'm leaving most of my family behind this time, I'll actually get to PLAY WITH MY FRIENDS! (old and new)

Corinna, I'm interested in a braclet class too. I sent an e-mail to my cabin-mate (non-DISer) to see if she is interested also. I see a few of my very close friends are signing up...if we 'organize ourselves' can we give you a list of our names so we can have our class together? (provided they WANT to have a class together )



I've got to start getting on the boards every day, even if it's just to keep up with this thread....things are starting to move fast now!

Wanted to get in here and post tonight and apologize to everyone about being out so long. The last 6 months have been some rough times between my 16 year old nephew dying in october and my mom having major surgey 4 weeks ago. I wasnt positive up until a week ago when we paid if we could even make it for sure..... but we are going and now very much looking forward to it!


Now about the FE, friends have kept me posted and I know from what ive read the majority wants groups which I think is great and like a poster said I will also print sheets with everyone on it so if there are people who want to give more they can. I think groups of 20-25 is the best solution as we are a big group overall and there is alot of traveling involved for everyone and space might be limited.
I also wanted to wait until everyone had to be paid in full which I found out some people have until feb now ( how are they so lucky lol) so we could have definite numbers but there is still alot of maybes on the spreadsheet which makes it tough to narrow down.
Please update the list if you were a maybe to yes or no so I can start working on the groups!
Looking forward to a much better 2012 and meeting everyone including old and new friends on this cruise!

Oh my goodness, I hope 2012 is a much happier year for you; so sorry to hear about your nephew. I can't even imagine what that must have been like. And I hope your mom is doing well.
