April 29, 2012 ~ Aloha! ~ Inagural Wonder to Hawaii-Part 3

Hope everyone had a safe and healthy Halloween!

We finally got power at 3 am this morning. It has been a rough 4 days. We have a wood burning stove in the family room that gave us enough heat for that room and the kitchen but it was kind of hard to sleep on the recliner. We lost a lot of trees but luckily no damage to house. The area looks like a tornado passed through. There are still areas without power. The state is in a big mess. I have had my three grandchildren here also and as much as I love them not feeling up to par yet has made things a little "edgy" can't wait to get my house back to normal and get on with my recovery.

I guess nothing is new with shore excursions yet. Hope they announce something soon so we all can make our plans.

I can't believe how much this thread has taken off. 3 separate threads? WOW. No way I can keep up, but my wife and I are still looking forward to this one very much.

We booked our flights today. We will fly to Los Angeles on April 26th and go back home May 18th. We will fly with Delta via Atlanta.

I decided to wait until after the first of the year to decide how we will travel. We will drive to LA, but still can't decide if we will drive home or cruise home...guess it depends how much we spend on Christmas and excursions

Well my sweating is over. I got tge two weeks vacation needed for this cruise. So Hawaii here I come.

Just called Paradise Pier and was able to get a standard room instead of the premium view that they origionally gave me. I saved $200 on the three night stay. I knew if i kept trying a standard room would open up.

We will be flying into Lax and will be taking the Disneyland express to the hotel and then back to the airport. It is $32 round trip per person.

Things are starting to shape up. Now to get our house and yard shaped up after that awful storm. I am still feeling not up to par but getting a little more energy everyday. I can't believe it is taken so long. Thank God April is a few months away.

Sorry the link is broken. The gal who is heading it up, Val, is on a cruise right now but will be back soon and I am sure she will fix it. Just check this board regularly because she will respond to your post I am sure...she really stays on top of things.

I can't believe out thread is one page 3!!! We can't have that! So I am bumping us and also sharing that I just made my final payment for this cruise! It feels so good to know that this is indeed happening...15 nights with no kids and many, many mornings sleeping in. I know I am going to miss them like crazy but I need a break!
