I'm sooooo behind on this thread & need to do some big catching up, but..... HAD to comment about *our* room....!! :lmao:

We always try to get that one too! But, truth be known, we are just as happy with its Starboard clone, 5622! And if we can't get either, we just pop "down" to a 6A & are happy with second (or third) best! One of my favorite things about it is how surprisingly quiet it really is, and popping into the Buena Vista theater is so convenient (which we tend to do a lot)!!

I have to ask.....Animator's room service??????? Inquiring minds need to know!

:hippie:
.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.....SOMEONE ELSE REQUESTS OUR ROOM. That is just WAY too funny. I always thought no one would like this area. Yes it is quiet and very convenient to the theater, which we love. We order coffee in our room every day from room service and it comes from Animator's Palate and we know this because of the cups and saucers and utensils. I love the little size, it's like playing house when I was a kid. And since they are only one floor below us, it comes quickly. Plus they know that we do it every day so they are ready. We leave the request on the door knob before going to bed at night and they bring it exactly at the time we request, on the dot. In fact, we get calls when we don't order asking if everything is alright. We usually have a character breakfast and won't order on that morning. They get concerned and call us. We love our room. YES, it is ours. You can use it when we are not....hahahaha. What room did you get for this cruise?

Yup, I never got a Dream Inaugural Tshirt! Oh, well. I would probably have spilled spaghetti sauce on it anyway......:lmao:

Me and John didn't get inaugural anything. We had to settle for maiden voyages....notice the "s". I wasn't going to pay top dollar on ebay for tee shirts. I did buy a dooney and burke bag for our sailing on ebay though. I spent way too much for it, but I have it.

The same thing happened when Disney put out the Designer Princess series. I couldn't get all ten dolls. I had to buy four of them on ebay and pay a high price for each. They could have handled that better too.

Ok, sorry I have been MIA, had oral surgery and was miserable for a few days! Have stitches for another week, who would have thought teeth could hurt so much!

On the brighter side it has given me time to work on things. Tom and I went today and got rid of our 7000 and upgraded to a 6a so now we are GTY and hopefully someone will get our cabin assigned. It was less then 500 more and we figured its our 20th anniversary and I enjoy the balconys, especially in the morning with my coffee .

Now for the FE update , I have sent out a few emails for some updates on a few names but as of now we have 4 groups of 22. That is per cabin, when I make the final list I will break it down to adults and children on the spreadsheet so each group will know how many they have per cabin. I am also waiting to make sure no one else wants to add, but with 4 teams we have leeway to do this and not go over 25. Hope this helps!

I am going to try to summarize everything in one post....

chip&dale&fun....OMG...I love your skirt!!!!

We too have a favourite room on the Magic & Wonder....2552....it was our room for the 2005 WB Panama Canal cruise and we have stayed in it many times on both the Magic & Wonder....I was not able to get "our" room for Hawaii....so I am next door in 2554...

About the merchandise chaos in the MV of the Dream...I happened to be in the right place at the right time and was able to get a MV Dream hoodie in a 3XL...I LOVE it and wear it all the time....

On the 2005 WB Panama Canal cruise we stayed in line overnight to get the special pins....I think the line started about 11 pm and we could not leave the line so we took turns saving places so people could go and change out of their formal wear into either comfy clothes or PJ's...we had soooo much fun that night....one guy even went to his room and ordered 20 pizzas from room service...because they wouldn't deliver to the line...DCL even brought us coffe, orange juice and pastries in the morning....and since everyone was scared that during the night people would storm the line, DCL came and stamped our hands with ink that could only be seen under black light....people think we were crazy but it was so much fun and if I was asked if I would do it again, my answer would be yes!!!!

About DCL not changing how the merchandise is handled, Karl Hotz was on the Inaugural Alaskan cruise and he was in the store and saw for himself the free for all with the merchandise....I think no one actually listened to the CM when they told them what it was like but Karl was watching and I overheard him say that he would never allow this to happen again....so we will see.

Those Hawaii Mickey earrings are adorable!!!!!!

Okay...I think that's everything...

One last thing....Tigger & Bubba...I think I remember you and your husband from the 11 night Southern Carribbean cruise in 2006....you guys had the awesome pirate costumes...right?????

*raises her hand* I find it creepy.

From what I hear, some people are hoping for ghosts on the ship.

It may just be me, but I don't want to be on a cruise that takes the same path the Titanic took.

No way I'd want to take that cruise :upsidedow.

wow, how cute...what's etsy?

Etsy is a website that has a lot of unique, handmade items. Just type the name w/a dot com.

Hi Heather, hope they gave you some good drugs for those teeth. Feel better soon.

I love having coffee out on the balcony every morning too. Then I stay out there late at night watching the sky and the sea. It's my favorite place on the ship.

Could you please email me a copy of the final list when you get it done? I'll use it to check it against my Champagne Girls list, which I am about to start. I'll have all the necessary changes from your list, it's more current than the spreadsheet used for signing up. Thanks.

Too funny!! We are in a 6A this time....sigh....by the time we called DVC, and then they called DCL, etc., "someone" had snagged the room!! :rotfl:
I'm sorry to hear you were moved though...that's really curious. Maybe they are devoting the 2 weeks to spiff up our room even more!!

I'm not really complaining & it's really fine where we are - 5642, still deck 5 & aft..... but see how far we have to walk to the theater now??! :rotfl2: That's so interesting about Animators - I never put that together.

We will have to discuss this further over a glass of champagne!!!!! I did book 5122 for the Eastern Med, July '13, so I'll treat it very nicely until you are ready for it again. :hippie:

.

BEV/Dylan'sMom.....have you been on the Dream? If so, what room did you request on there? Did you get it?

We were on the inaugural Dream and we had room 5150 and found that it had the oversized deck. We got it as the same category as 5122 on the Magic or Wonder. Now people know about it and request it, so the raised the category and the price. We won't be staying in it next time we're on the Dream or Fantasy. Now it's too pricey.

We prefer the Magic and the Wonder anyway. We like the smaller ships.

We were just on the Dream once, to check it out, but we prefer the Magic & Wonder so much more too. We had a big credit from a cruise change, so tried the concierge (cat V?) to see what it was like too, & loved the lounge for fresh coffee, water & snacks, but that ship is just so huge!!!!! And I think the 3 days was crazy short too, and we probably covered less than one fourth of what there is to see. :sad2:

That room sounds awesome though -- glad you got to sail in it before it went up. It's just hard to find the equivalent to our cozy 5122 on the Dream (or 5622, I'll opt for that one if we cruise together again...lol)!!

dum de dum de dum.....dum.

That's great, but even better if they did it when I wasn't going to be onboard for two weeks.

That is a VERY long walk when it's late at night and you're starting to get sleepy. I go to the threater in my slippers.

That's so interesting about Animators - I never put that together.

Try it next time you're in there. You'll see.

We will definitely continue this topic while sharing a glass or more of some champagne!!!

I'm glad you get our room back again in July '13. I'm sailing in 5122 on the Magic in Sept '12. It's a five nighter out of NYC going North. We have nothing booked for 2013 so feel free to book our room. hahaha.

We are REALLY going to miss our verandah on the Hawaii cruise! There are absolutely NO accessible rooms with verandah available! I keep calling and I keep bugging my travel agency to call, but it looks like we will have an oceanview.....but I keep telling myself how LUCKY we are to get to go at all!
We didn't think Patrick would still be so healthy and able to travel at this age....especially to fly AND our younger son, Mike, got time off and a stateroom so he can go with us. We will have our little family all together on a cruise again....we are blessed that we can travel! We love to cruise!

Another plus.....so many of our fellow DIS board cruisers that we have been with before...it will be like being at a big family reunion!

We were on the Dream only once too....a three nighter....just to check it out also.

We tend to stay port, so if we sail again and you get it first we'll take 5124 and we'll be neighbors.

Connie, my next favorite deck is deck 4. It's beautiful there and you're close to the water. You can spend your time out there with all your family and friends.....a big family reunion. I'm so glad both boys will be with you. Is this your first time to Hawaii? It is for me and John. I'm excited!!

Cute! That is what I was thinking of making, too. Hope you don't mind!

Please copy...mine was four panels, I divided twice each.

Thanks for all the nice comments on the skirt...It was fun to make...I even lined it!!

I am working on a hat for Hedgie...Those of you on the P/C or Maiden Dream may remember her...anyway, that is what I am doing with my leftover material...That and making a pillow...I was spoiled on the DREAM......

yup, our first time to Hawaii. We never thought we'd go with Patrick....we thought maybe during one of our respite times.....like we did to go on the Baltic a couple years ago.

We actually need a month just on the islands! :woohoo:

Wow! I am glad you are doing better! Oral surgery is NO fun!

Do you also have a list of those that want to "do them all"

I dont want to do groups, i am willing to give to everyone signed up, and i think there were several others who felt the same way.

Thanks for all your planning!

I love Etsy, too. It's amazing how many talented people are on there. I bought our FE off of it and loved it so much so I asked her if she could design a sweatshirt for me. Epilepsy is huge in our family so she made up several hoodies that turned out better than I could have even imagined.

This is one of my favorite sellers on Etsy, I have several pairs of her earrings. I have the Mickey surf boards, very cute stuff.

She is great to work with and loves to do custom work!!

:hippie:

I went on the site....there are literally thousands of earrings....how did you find them? by the seller's name?
