*raises her hand* I find it creepy.

From what I hear, some people are hoping for ghosts on the ship.

It may just be me, but I don't want to be on a cruise that takes the same path the Titanic took.

Animatronic icebergs :rolleyes1

I have seen a couple of people saying the wrist band thing works well, while it is true for purchasing the items, it does zero to eliminate the crowds that will form to get the wrist band. As to the post saying they don't have the staff to do a order form. I find that to be a ton of BS. Since the shops can not be open while in port, the CM's can fill the orders on a port day. This can easily be done on one of the days that the stores will probably not open or be open for a very short period on the days we are in port from 7:30 A.M till 10:30 P.M. To me it seems like they want another problem on their hands. That is just the impression I am getting as Celebration appers to have zero interest in addressing this problem.

Alan, I am once again in full agreement with you. I, for one, think it's horrible to have to stand in line at 3AM just to try and get lucky for merchandise. Utter nonsense. For Douglas to say that he didn't realize that early dining didn't have a chance is BS. I talked to guest services that night about it and so did several others. People were mad and Guest Services had to listen to it over and over again and it wasn't their fault. I personally talked to the retail manager, whoever that was on the MV, several times on that cruise. I, also, got back home and sent an email. Believe me, DCL knew about it.

LOVE that skirt!!!

My main question is that many people told DCL that they should have a better system in place to keep the majority of the guests happy, as I do agree that from time to time you cannot keep some happy....but do they try to have a new system in place that is fair to everyone who wants the merchandise? Seems that they listen but tend to do nothing.

Tom

Tom I think they believe the wrist bands work. I agree with that but only to a point. I mean what's the point of waiting in line overnight to get a wrist band just to come back later to buy the merchandise. I will be writing my own email to DCL, just trying to figure out what to say so they don't give me one of the canned responses that does not address the issue I did write about.

I just got an offer from Azamara cruise line for Titanic Memorial Cruise.

departing from New York on the 10th April 2012 exactly 100 years to the day the Titanic left Southampton. Our 8 night voyage of a lifetime heads for Halifax where you will have the opportunity of visiting Fairview Lawn Cemetery where victims of the RMS Titanic sinking are buried and then to the site for the memorial service to commemorate the 100th year anniversary

Does anyone else find this kinda creepy?

Val

I got this today too and yes, I also think it's creepy.

Goos Morning Cruisers......Good News...DH has word that his leave was approved!!!! Long story, new system, but WHEW....

Best of Luck for those of you still waiting.....

thanks for the tips on the rental cars. I am still debating and trying to find out which company has the best pick-up service. The return time will make a difference in my planning for the Luau. Thanks for the tips.

With all the buzz on the pre-ordering discounts, I selected our shirts but NO Discounts, nope, none...I asked about AP, And was told it did not apply. I don't know if I had an inexperienced cast member??? Or if the policy keeps changing.

Cayla, good luck with your merchandise on the Fantasy and more importantly, Have Fun on the Fantasy. We want details when you return.

GTY...when do we learn our cabin numbers? this is the first time since our first cruise we have been GTY. We booked too late to grab our favourite cabin class. So, I check daily but am not sure.....

Pink....I turned the closet inside out and found a pink top and a pink Disney T.... Good, another item completed.....Not that I cannot go shopping :rotfl:But some of us are not pink girls. Hence the lack of pink in the closet.:cutie:

I guess that is my quoto of questions for the moment.....

have a good day all!

Congratulations on getting the leave approved.

The last few times I was GTY, I found out my room assignment 45 days prior to sailing.

The cruise skirt....

I love the skirt.

It gets even creepier than this. They are offering a cruise out of the UK that is following the original itinerary of the Titanic. I just hope that they omit the iceberg part.

I am making good progress with the preparations for this cruise. I have now finished all the Fish Extender gifts for the kids and I am really pleased with how they have come out. Now I just have to do the gift for the ladies to do. This particular project will use some materials that are new for me so I hope that this will all work out how I am imagining it. In any case, everything should be done by the end of the week.

Once all the Fish Extender gifts are done, I will then turn my attention to preparing the jewellery workshops. The biggest order that is still outstanding was shipped from within the UK yesterday so this should hopefully arrive tomorrow and then I am just waiting for one shipment from Hong Kong and one from China, which should hopefully be here by the end of the week or the beginning of next week the latest. Then I can spend some happy hours putting together the kits. The most time intensive aspect of this is to prep the actual bracelets, which will take a while. Still, I should be able to do this while commuting by train to and from work.

Once all of those tasks are done, I will concentrate on putting the Group Navigator together.

Cayla,

I noticed on this cruise you are my next door neighbor. I'm 7638. Do you usually try to stay in the same level of cabin and have favorite deck? With 4 of the 5 :dance3: cruises this year on the wonder/magic design do you repeat the same cabin at all?

Just curious because this is only our 3rd Disney cruise and we have never been able to get the cabin we had the first time again...our favorite of any cruise line we have traveled. But this is the same cabin we had on the inaugural Alaska last April, purely by luck. Despite booking the first day we could getting any accessible cabin took months on a wait list :confused3

How about the rest of you gold and platinum members? Do you try for the same cabin usually or just any in the category you want?
Judy

Hi Judy, this will be our 14th DCL only cruise. We always request 5122. We usually book when it opens and get first tier pricing and since no one wants our room, we tend to get it. On this cruise we had it but DCL changed us to 5124. I don't know why, but they said that no one will be in 5122 on this cruise.

Your room is probably very popular.

Hey all....please understand I do not want to seem negative about anything about this cruise.....just looking forward to finding many new places to nap on the ship....I stand on line when we go to Disney World.....definately not on the Wonder...well maybe on the buffet line. Heck, just looking forward to a WONDERful cruise.
Tom & Marilou

Deb and I always try for the same cabin, 5122 on the Magic or Wonder, mostly for location reasons. closest to aft lifts, easy to reach our muster station, room service from Animators, closest to the water so the sound can put you to sleep, it is great. This cruise we had to settle for 5124 because 5122 is closed off for something! for my 60th birthday Deb booked a 1 bedroom on the Wonder for a 3 night. we decided that we would stick with 5122 (old habits I guess)

Hi sweetie, you beat me to it.....I said the same thing a little after you. hahaha.

Whew.....that's a lot of work. DODs and BBCs onboard for you too!!!

Hair clips on pink flowers for our hair are done. I did 100 of them. Whatever we don't use, I give to the kids club so the little girls can have them. I always do that with the boas and tiaras and the girls love getting them.

Next I'll get started on the CG list and we can get a real count.

It's getting closer and closer. Gotta be ready.

Those are cute Deb. Isn't the shipping costs expensive from Hawaii ? One part of my FE came from Hawaii and the shipping was more then the product !!

It really depends on how they mail it. Some have been very reasonable and yes, some were expensive. I've had both. You have to check.

I'm sooooo behind on this thread & need to do some big catching up, but..... HAD to comment about *our* room....!! :lmao:

We always try to get that one too! But, truth be known, we are just as happy with its Starboard clone, 5622! And if we can't get either, we just pop "down" to a 6A & are happy with second (or third) best! One of my favorite things about it is how surprisingly quiet it really is, and popping into the Buena Vista theater is so convenient (which we tend to do a lot)!!

I have to ask.....Animator's room service??????? Inquiring minds need to know!

:hippie:
.

We were Maiden DREAM and oh my gosh.....what a mess....even with RSP, the shops were riots.....
Nothing in the shops was worth going inside -- the poor Crew.....

Yup, I never got a Dream Inaugural Tshirt! Oh, well. I would probably have spilled spaghetti sauce on it anyway......:lmao:
