I was looking at Millipie's designs for another cruise and came across this new design for the DCL Hawaiian crusies. I think it looks really nice on a black tee.

Can you try again? I could be me..have been having a lot of trouble with computer this week...the word "reboot" in showing up in my nightmares!

Did you think about booking a room through Expedia? I looked today and was thinking of booking my own room so that we could hang out after Pearl H. I know that some other people are doing same.

Great minds think alike! I just started thinking about this and went to their site to price it. I haven't decided, but it also got me thinking about others. In Waikiki there's a Hyatt that would cost half of Aulani and I'd be earning my points, not to mention I think transportation would be easy. Although if I do a beach in Oahu, then I may change my Kauai excursions... decisions decisions decisions...

For those needing transportation to Aulani, I currently have 9 people in our group (all requesting the 8:00pm departure so far). The dis names I have on my log are TChrist05 (2), georget (2), Dylan'sMom (2), plus the 3 in my group.

If you would like to join our transportation, we will leave the ship around 9:00am and return around 8:00pm. The transportation cost is $75 per vehicle each way for up to 6 people. Please send me a PM if you would like to join us.

Noticed that there is a lot of availability to book our cruise online today after being sold out for such a long time. Wonder how many people must have moved to another cruise or canceled by PIF dates.

We're planning to rent a car in each port. If you are planning to do the islands on your own I would suggest the "Revealed" series. There's one for each island. The other resource worth checking out is the Cruise Critic Hawaii boards. There's a wealth of Hawaii port experience over there. Signing up for the Blue Chip program and renting through Thrifty seems to be the most popular choice over there.

As far as I know I'm still on here but I know that things have changed. On my way out the door right now but had to check in and realized why I've been offline. Is it just the time or is it always this slow? Took me over 5 min to sign on. Very frustrating. Anyway, got some news to share but that'll have to wait very late for an appt

Hope someone out there remembers me.

Oh and anyone have news on the FE's? Is there a first page update list?

There is a list of people interested in brunch at the beginning of this thread. Our name is on the list and would love to be a part of the group. We will be celebrating our 45 anniversary on this curise.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and good thoughts. I got the results of the MRI and no brain tumor or blood clots! They did come up with a sinus infection and they say it could be causing the double vision. I di not feel like I have a sinus infection but it was there on the MRI. I am on an antibiotic and am still waiting for about 5 blood tests to come back. But I am so relieved about no tumors or blood clots. Hope it is an easy fix.

That is great news. I hope that the antibiotics work their magic quickly and everything clears up.

I still don't have room number... but I want to participate in the FE exchange. Thoughts?

You can still sign up. A lot of other people will be in the same situation. Just make sure that you let threebritts know as soon as you have your room number.

No updates on FEs as yet. The rollcall sheet is such a mess that Heather had to start over completely afresh and sign ups have been a bit slow.

WOW - What a turn-out of interest we've had for this event!

I currently have 65 adults and 18 kids (3-12) signed up as interested.

I have the final numbers now from the Feast at Lele (www.feastatlele.com) and the transportation folks.

It looks like the total discounted cost for the luau and transportation by motorcoach to/from the port (including tax and gratuity) will be:

$149 - adults
$115 - kids (3-12)

NOTE: Kids under 3 in a highchair are free for the luau and sitting in your lap on the bus

This represents a 30+% savings for adults over the DCL port adventure (about 12% savings for kids 3-10)

I am still checking as to how/when we need to put down a deposit, but I know they require it all come from a single source. So, I will likely set up a PayPal account much like Val/Bob did for the cruise shirts to collect funds and then make a single payment to them.

I will need a FINAL commitment from all of you that have signed up or who want to sign up probably around March 1st, but I'll let you know the exact date and cancellation policy when I get more info from the General Manager later this week.

So, I have consulted with my Poker-expert (thanks, JohnGar!) and it sounds like a $20 buy in for $100 chips is a reasonable starting point...

We've got 8 folks signed up so far and can accomodate as many as want to join (pending enough chips of course).

Great news!.. Thanks for setting this all up.. I am trying to work out my time table on this with my excursion that morning/afternoon. We are doing the dolphion experience and it is set to have us back to the pier about 4. I am hoping that we can get ourselves showered and ready for the Luau in an hour!

Nevermind.. I am a dork.. I was on the wrong island!.. We are at the Maui Ocean Center this day.. it is until 1230, so I am sure we have plenty of time!

Thanks Corinna, just got back and was hoping someone would recognize me.

Well here's the news:

1. We are being joined by my youngest daughter who's gotten permission from LMU to take her final exams early. All except her math class who her first year professor says she's never had to deal with this. She's the only teacher not to agree to give it to her early but she can take the final in September. She weighed the odds and decided she can deal with it. She's hoping she'll change her mind about giving it to her early if she shows she serious about the class

2. Been dealing with a health situation that hit me on Jan 2. I was diangosed with Bell's Palsy on the 3rd of January and while I know that it was only temporary, had to deal with that and a few other things. Thank God I'm almost back to normal and I know that I'm very lucky. I look normal except for my right eye being just a bit more delayed in blinking. But I consider myself lucky. I started going to an acupuncturist about 2 1/2 weeks ago and he's done miracles for me. I believe my last session may be this Saturday. In total, I will have taken 6 session and I feel good.

3. Wasn't getting excited about this cruise so I guess I was in a funk and that was why I chose to stay off Dis, but seeing some posts has ignited a spark in me and I hope that it continues to fan out. I know that I will be happy once onboard but the journey to get on the cruise has not been an easy one.

So that's it in a nutshell, my oldest child and my youngest child will be along for this inaugural cruise and my middle one is feeling left out but can't help that. Perks end when you leave the house. LOL

So anything else I need to catch up on? Please drop me a line here or that other site. Would greatly appreciate it.
