So, I have consulted with my Poker-expert (thanks, JohnGar!) and it sounds like a $20 buy in for $100 chips is a reasonable starting point...:cool1:

We've got 8 folks signed up so far and can accomodate as many as want to join (pending enough chips of course).

So, if you think you or your hubby is game, you can sign up here and we'll keep you posted as to date/time/place.

Thanks
Steph

Hi Steph,

My name is Laura AKA eeyorelvr10. Just wanted to introduce myself (maybe again???) and also to tell you that I signed my hubby up - he is not on the DIS but he loves poker. I filled in my info so if you can keep me updated I'd appreciate it. Thank you. Hope you find people to sign up - that would keep hubby out of my hair for a while. :rotfl2:

I currently have 65 adults and 18 kids (3-12) signed up as interested.

I have the final numbers now from the Feast at Lele (www.feastatlele.com) and the transportation folks.
It looks like the total discounted cost for the luau and transportation by motorcoach to/from the port (including tax and gratuity) will be:

$149 - adults
$115 - kids (3-12)

I will need a FINAL commitment from all of you that have signed up or who want to sign up probably around March 1st, but I'll let you know the exact date and cancellation policy when I get more info from the General Manager later this week.

Let me know if you have any questions at all

Steph

Do you want us to start confirming now via comments? or mark something on sign up page for confirmation? Catherine and I are definitely still going.:goodvibes Thank you so much for setting this up! :flower3:

WOW - What a turn-out of interest we've had for this event! :dance3:

$115 - kids (3-12)

NOTE: Kids under 3 in a highchair are free for the luau and sitting in your lap on the bus

This represents a 30+% savings for adults over the DCL port adventure (about 12% savings for kids 3-10) :cheer2:

I am still checking as to how/when we need to put down a deposit, but I know they require it all come from a single source. So, I will likely set up a PayPal account much like Val/Bob did for the cruise shirts to collect funds and then make a single payment to them.

Do you know the departure time from the dock yet? Also, what time will we return?

Thanks

Dale

Good idea, Judy, I'll add a "Confirm ?" column to the spreadsheet and anyone who is ready to commit based on these prices, please just put "Yes" in that column

Or, you can PM me if that is easier for you...

Thanks!

Hello everyone!

I'm new to the forum, having just found you an hour ago. Though I'm a good student and learning a lot of new things: Champagne Girl. Poker. Fish Extenders. Door Decorations.

I must say, you all are very busy bees.

Hopefully I'll get to know all of you better in the weeks to come, because our cruise is creeping up on us!

We booked the new Aulani excursion yesterday. Looking forward to a fun day but would love to share this with 2 others since they allow up to 4 guests to a room and we really will not be using the room much! We plan on doing the "group" transportation that is being organized by Karen Elizabeth Mitchell -(we really appreciate all your hard work with this:) The total for the excursion is $440 - so this would be $220/couple. We also have a reservation at AMA AMA for lunch...SUN ~ FUN and FOOD !!!! Let us know if you are interested!

Karen ~ My husband and I would love to join your transportation group going to Aulani. We booked the excursion and are really looking forward to meeting some other people too. Thanks...just let me know what I need to do! We really appreciate your work in organizing this!

Back from a quick west coast trip ...didnt have laptop for 4 days so catching up on posts.

I know theres lots of planners so trying to keep everyone updated but people are adding daily and with many people not having hit the PIF date yet im afraid some will drop.

For a basic idea and breakdown (hope this helps) we have:
64 cabins signed up- so approximately 3-4 groups
33 kids under 18
69 adult women
44 adult men

l will make the final date to sign up March 15th since all who will be joining should be finalized by then and had a chance to get to the boards. More cabins should be assigned by then also ,so those on GTY have no worries there will be plenty of time to add.

on a different note ...today I returned to work and was asked about my vacation request. Mind you I told work a YEAR ago I was doing this cruise and they were accepting and all was fine. Today im told ...." ummm thats a long time to ask off for ", I said well a year ago it wasnt. I work 12 hour shifts and the way it worked out I am only mising six days so they can get a per diem nurse to fill in for me. My manager just looked at me and said we'll see and I said well to be honest Ill have to quit if i dont get it approved ( I couldnt believe those words were coming out of my mouth as I was saying them) , but i thought with the year ive had and already paying for the cruise I figure theres no way im not going. She looked at me shockingly and said ill see what i can do LOL I figure the ball is in their court now, if they dont want to lose me then so be it. I have a PT job for hospital too I could work FT if I wanted to, just dont want to leave a job I really like but its Hawaii or bust now!

Tom & Marilou and anyone else who is interested. Some of the designs are on my flicker page, which we made public. Feel free to access any of them.

If you have any questions or need help with calling them to the tee shirt order site, feel free to e-mail at Valbob89@aol.com and I'll try to help.

If there are any of you who are interested in our group hawaiian shirts (see page one), the manufacturer says there may be overruns available, plus I ordered and paid for a few extras. Again, send me an e-mail if you want more info.

We wish we were retired :rotfl2:
We are also sailing alone-together - leaving the kids home (but they are 35 :groom: with a wife :bride: and baby princess: and 31 :smooth: so they are fine.)
:thumbsup2 This is also our 13th Disney cruise. (We did do a 4 day RCCL once but that was enough! ::yes::)

Welcome on board. We are Corinna and Graham and come from the UK. I am organizing a Scavenger Hunt and run a bunch of jewellery workshops and I am also co-organizing Secret Mickey.

I always get my t shirts printed through Vistaprint. I just right-click on any graphic that I like to save it to my computer and then go to the Vistaprint website and upload it there. It is easy and cheap and they often have great discounts.

I know that I am organizing a bunch of stuff this cruise, but linked dinner is not one of them. This would be Paula Sillars.

Looks I way overbought the supplies. I was working on the premises that I would probably need 100 for each category. Oh well, looks I will have a bunch of ready made gifts for a future cruise then.

Good for you and hope it works out for you. My husband switched roles at his company around 1 1/2 yrs ago to the sales side. So, now I have to plan our vacations around his quarter ends, so no spring break or christmas time. Anyway we had just booked the MVof the Fantasy right before his role change. Well he is still catching flack about not being the March 31st-the day we sail. I said seriously all orders are supposed to be booked before that anyway. I told him you have until 4 or so to do work before the ship sails.

So, the Hawaii trip is announced. They basically told him if he went on this one he wouldn't have a job when he got back. I asked what's their reason now? YOu have the time off and it's not quarter end. I said well they can't stop me. Anyway didn't want to take the chance and stir the pot more. I need him to have this job to allow me to feed my DCL addiction. :rotfl:

That's why it's just my best friend and I-no hubby or kids. Couldn't pull them out of school again so close after the MV, especially since my oldest is getting marked as unexcused for the MV, and he can only have 5 unexcused for the grading period.

I know several moms at the school who are nurses at a couple of different hospitals. Which hospital do you work PT at?

My best friend and I really want to do this, I'm a bit leary because our DCL excursion(Haleakala summit lavendar and winery) starts at 7:45am and it says return of 4:15. When I looked at the length in the description and did the math return should be earlier. Anyway, we don't do many DCL excursions and wanted to know how accurate is that return time to the ship. We don't want to miss the luau motorcoach. We can get ready pretty fast. Any feedback would be great. If the time is pretty accurate we definitely want to go to luau

Things are starting to fall into place for this cruise. We Have our excursion for Oahu booked and confirmed now and we have been so impressed with this company that we may book an excursion on Maui with them as well. On the Big Island, we are still hoping to do Disney excursions.

My first set of supplies has arrived for my Fish Extender gifts so I may get started on the gifts for the men later today. I am still missing one component for this, but I can get the most time consuming part done and the rest is then quickly assembled once the last part arrives.

I had some more information about people who have jumped ship. I have taken them off the various spreadsheets for activities like the candy swap, champagne girls and the brunch to save other people a bit of work.
