I too booked with points (ocean view studio). Think your referring to kmitchel. DW and I have "signed up" for transportation

We booked the ocean view studio too. I was trying to remember a category of "partial ocean view" as listed for the DCL excursion, but I don't think it was an option? Oh well - just curious.

I think it's good DCL is offering something for Aulani, even if it's a bit limited - and it makes sense for crowd control to do a room for every 4 people I think. The "get your own transportation" is a bit surprising....lol

.

There is a list of people interested in brunch at the beginning of this thread. Our name is on the list and would love to be a part of the group. We will be celebrating our 45 anniversary on this curise.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and good thoughts. I got the results of the MRI and no brain tumor or blood clots! They did come up with a sinus infection and they say it could be causing the double vision. I di not feel like I have a sinus infection but it was there on the MRI. I am on an antibiotic and am still waiting for about 5 blood tests to come back. But I am so relieved about no tumors or blood clots. Hope it is an easy fix.

That is good news! Praying that the rest of the tests also bring good news.

Good news! I too hope they are right and the antibiotics take care of it! :thumbsup2

I'm game - I'm just 1 though - anyone else interested? So for the special event - how about - "We're celebrating that we will have brunch in Palo's after all"! :lmao:

OK - there are two of us to add to the list....Anyone keeping count.

Let's see for Celebrations.

We all have Birthday's we can use the milestone ones.
DH will be 60.
Many of us have Anniversaries, again we can use milestones.
Cannot help there.
We have celebrations - cancer free for x years.....for example.
Anyone with new babies.

Oh yes, and we could celebrate the first cruise to Hawaii,
The Wonder vs. the Fantasy.

:confused3 I'm so confused... and on so many fronts!!!!! :headache:

Aulani: How can this be sold out already, when they are booking a room. Presumably the resort can handle their room capacity (at least 4 per room) so as long as there are rooms available, how can they be concerned about being over-run or be sold out, until all rooms are gone? The arranging transportation seperate might actually work for me, since we'd like to go after we've done Pearl Harbor - but if it's sold out????

Brunch: There is the first page and the roll call tab for brunch, but what does this mean? There are way too many people on the roll call tab to fit in the 12 - 14 room reservation so what was this tab for and is anyone coordinating this? I'm game for doing a group brunch, but I'm so confused on the other "brunch" planning that I'm not sure what to do.

Normally I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person, but I'm :worship: to the cruise experts to please help this confused newbie understand! :confused3

The group room is available every seaday. More than one group can be formed and requests sent for each (by a different person). There just needs to be at least 12 people in each group.

Alright folks----I promised that deadlines would be coming....and HERE THEY ARE!!! I have been in contact with the company I am planning to use to design our lanyards (the actual lanyard to go around your neck...Jason and I (with some graphic/creativity help from Brooklyn:thumbsup2) are designing the name badges). They have completed our sample (and I'm quite happy with it if I do say so myself:goodvibes). In order to place the order, pay for it and give them time to create the lanyards and ship them to me, I'd like to order them by the week of Febrary 19th. This means that the official cutoff date to request lanyards will be Friday, February 17th!! After that date, while I will order a small stock of extra lanyards, I will NOT be able to guarantee lanyards....and once all of the lanyards I've ordered are spoken for then there will not be any additional ones available (i.e. first come, first serve).

So........for anyone who is interested in FREE custom lanyards for yourself and/or your traveling party, make sure you send your info (DIS name(s) and first names of everyone in your party and at least one room # for your group) to me at dcl.hawaii.lanyards@gmail.com

Also, the full list of people who have requested lanyards, along with their info (names, staterooms, etc.) is up to date and viewable as a google spreadsheet. To take a look and confirm that your information is listed there AND that it is correct, click HERE (Note: you can VIEW the spreadsheet, but you cannot edit it....if you need to add/remove/revise your information, please email me directly at the address above.)

(Special note to my wonderful and generous "lanyard team" volunteers-----since I will be ordering the lanyards in Mid-February, you can expect an email from me before the end of the month with details about how much to contribute and where to send it. Thanks!)

So thrilled you got good results from the MRI, especially since that is such a miserable test to take..according to my daughter :confused3 Good news about sinus infection...which by the way responds beautifully to sea air for any healing still needed:)

Thank you!! Thank you!!!

Information has been checked and is correct!

See you in 87 days and counting!!!!

Wow, I have not been posting a lot, but geez 50 pages in a week???

Ok - I have caught up, Val - thank you for the images, I emailed you. This week I am going to try the printing on material instructions I found online. If this works, I will have size appropriate images on material for shirts for my bear(s). I will share the process if it works with everyone here of course.

Speaking of shirts - for those who know Michael - PLEASE DON'T TELL HIM ABOUT THE SHIRTS, I am giving him his as a sail-away gift and would like to keep it a suprise if at all possible!

Scott - I loved your review! I am so looking forward to my trip to Aulani in 2013.

We (hunny and I) are passing on most if not all of the 2013 sailings. Neither of us are allowed by that pesky stuff called work to take time off in mid December (me 12/15 - 1/5) Hunny is restricted for all of Dec!

Since we are doing a 2 or 3 week trip to Hawaii, DLR, & San Fran it will take most of our money and vacation time...no new cruises for us as of now.

I have a few excursions booked, but I most likely will be canceling the DCL ones. I have been looking into renting a car in each port and just going where I want. As of now, I am solo - Michael isn't sure what he is doing, and most likely will not be able to join me...so if anyone else is solo or a couple and wish to join me...PM me. The cars are less than 100 per port (for the tiny ones of course). I have a GPS and am pretty good a navigating. My AAA book is already looking worse for the wear and will most likely need replacing before we get there. Many places are low cost or free to see, and I would like to just explore. I tend to be adventurious and really like to see nature and the local culture. Oh, Lynn G will vouch this one, gotta buy jewelry! (LOT'S of jewelry!!! :rolleyes1:rotfl::rolleyes1)

Cayla

Cayla, I'm right with you.....John and I are definitely renting a jeep on the big island and maybe on Maui too. All I want to know is....WHERE ARE THE DIAMONDS???? Do you know the best places to buy jewelry? PLEASE enlighten me.....I'm going there first. Hahaha.

I am really pleased I got reservations for Aulani but now that they have finally posted the price I am a little stressed. $400 for my daughter and I is a little, no it is a lot steep. Since that amount is for a room for 4 people we wondered if there are two others (preferably female) who would like to pay half and share our room?

I went online and I am really excited about being about to spend time on a beach, possibly snorkel but at least see the tropical fish actually in the ocean and enjoy being outdoors there. Since we both have severe arthritis issues that can affect our walking and can't do steps..the zero entry pool and other accommodations for disabled will make this so easy for us rather then trying to spend time on a public beach.

For others going there already I went online and was able to make reservations for their character breakfast :yay: just to really enjoy the Disney experience in Hawaii. There are two restaurants you can reserve seating to eat if you want.

I think this is a great way to spend the day...just costly..:sad2:

I still don't have room number... but I want to participate in the FE exchange. Thoughts?:confused3

Rooms should all be assigned by about 30 days out. That is plenty of time for the rooms to get in the navigators Corrina and Joanne are working on. :thumbsup2 No worries.

Just an FYI, DCL changed my room. I'm in 5124, right next door to my favorite room. For anybody that needs to know.

Did you think about booking a room through Expedia? I looked today and was thinking of booking my own room so that we could hang out after Pearl H. I know that some other people are doing same.

I was looking at Millipie's designs for another cruise and came across this new design for the DCL Hawaiian crusies. I think it looks really nice on a black tee.

I think so - but I live in EST zone. I think those in Ca book at 9pm local. I finally was able to get into the site - been trying since Dec! I managed to book what I wanted (I am platinum) finally.

I am still thinking of canceling all of the DCL excursions, and just renting a car to drive to what I want to see - anyone interested in joining me?

Cayla

We're planning to rent a car in each port. If you are planning to do the islands on your own I would suggest the "Revealed" series. There's one for each island. The other resource worth checking out is the Cruise Critic Hawaii boards. There's a wealth of Hawaii port experience over there. Signing up for the Blue Chip program and renting through Thrifty seems to be the most popular choice over there.
