April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

Val my little guy is usually in bed at 600pm/630pm so I think I like your 800pm bed time a little better because at home we usually have to hurry and eat and then off to bed because if he goes to bed too much later he turns into very winey little boy. I signed up for the early dining time and I'm not even sure if he will make it thru that. He also is a "I'm really starving Mommy" kid in the morning so we will probally have to order something to hold him over in the morning while we get ready, too.

Last year when we went to Disney the first night we went out to dinner and we looked over at our DS and he was alseep in his French Fries and Chicken (by the way his favorite meal, I sure hope they have it on board? do they?)

Cheryl

PS-So is everyone getting ready now that we are under the 1 month mark? I still have to find our summer clothes(they are somewhere in the house,we certainly haven't needed them lately)and start deciding what to bring and what I need to buy. I think I better hurry up time is running out.

PSS- I have another question for you guys? Do you work or are some of you SAHMs? I am a SAHM I have been for a around 5 years, some days I wish I worked but most days I'm just fine at home, how about everyone else?
Surprisingly, my girls usually go to bed at about 8:30pm, but on the ship, all bets are off. There were days that they were up until 10pm. But, I do try to get them to take a nap during the day, which isn't too tough because they are usually exhausted!!

And yes, Cheryl, they do have chicken and fries. I think that my oldest DD lives on them. And, I have a picture of my oldest DD, when we went on our first cruise, asleep with her head on the table at lunch. It was just too cute!!!

I have a cruise packing list around here somewhere that I'll start to check and pick things up like sunscreen, etc. One tip - unless you are SUPER-picky about shampoo & conditioner for yourself, leave them at home. The stuff onboard is H20 stuff and it's really nice. Usually hotel shampoo keeps my hair feeling like straw, but this stuff is great!!! And, remember that our first stop is Key West and if you forget something, there is a CVS pharmacy nearby to pick up anything you may have forgotten.

I became a SAHM not by choice about 3 years ago now. I had a job with AT&T, and I worked at home (which was nice). But, not long after my youngest was born, my entire department was laid off. Since daycare for an infant is SO expensive, we decided to have me stay at home until she was a bit older. She'll be going to preschool full-time next year (8:30-3pm) and my oldest will be in Kindergarten and since it's a private school (we have school choice here that I'm not fond of, so we went private). So, since it costs $$$, I'll be going back to work, at least part-time while they're in school. I'm kinda looking forward to working again, because I'm a lousy housewife, and I told my DH that a LONG time ago. I can't stand to clean, so our house is almost always a disaster. :confused3

Wow! How old is he? DH thinks 8/8:30 bedtime is too early!

OMG! I think our kids are twins! (This is getting too freaky with everyone having similarities!) I've heard they do have chicken tenders, which we will probably be ordering for him every day. DS5's favorites are "white chicken with nothing yucky on it," "pink steak," tacos, cheese pizza, and "white" spaghetti. Anything other than that is more than likely a no-go.

So is everyone getting ready now that we are under the 1 month mark?

I used to think I had plenty of time, but now I feel it's slipping away from me! I still have to find water shoes for everyone, but otherwise, it's mostly packing/organizing.

I'm a WAHM (self-employed medical transcriptionist). I think I'm a thread stalker because it's about my only adult interaction during the day! ;)

I work about 40 hrs a week too. I can't wait for retirement though. :rotfl:

Do they have any "no-more-tears" variety for the kids? Does it smell to froofy for DH to use? I'll probably leave mine at home but pack for "the guys."

:lmao: Me either! That's just too far off though. I think it's a shame to have to work all the time when you are younger. Most people work now way past 65, and by the time they do retire, they are too worn out to enjoy their lives, and too broke to have any extra money to do fun stuff.

I am going to leave the shampoo at home. More packing space! Oh, today is my "big" day. I'm going this afternoon to get some highlights. I just hope I don't look like Raggedy Ann when it's all said & done. :rotfl2:

All that my daughter would eat last cruise, was Macaroni and Cheese with chocolate milk to drink it down. The servers were so cute -- by the last couple of nights, they had it waiting for her by the time we showed up for dinner.

Forgot about the water shoes -- and I thought I was done shopping.:rolleyes1

You'll have to post updated photos so we know what you look like with your new 'do! :thumbsup2

:lmao: My DD lives on chocolate milk. First thing in the morning, last thing at night. So I know she'll be so happy to have it onboard too. She's definitely my child, she LOVES chocolate anything.

It's funny but my DH LOVES chocolate milk!! So don't be suprised if he orders it at dinner!!

My DH uses it too, but we do bring our own kids shampoo/conditioner for the girls.

I bet that it'll look GREAT!!! I used to do red highlights and I loved it!!! So, don't stress!!! You'll have to post a pic for us to see!!!

My DH loves chocolate milk too!!! And, of course, so do the girls. It's the only kind of milk Emily will even drink. Thankfully, Madison will still drink plain milk too.

But, on the cruise, Emily discovered Shirley Temples and she asks for them every night. They put TONS of cherries in them for her and she just loves it!!!

I probably will, too! I LOVE IT! If ours at home is getting low, I will try to hide it behind the other milk so I get the last bit of it! YUMMY!

Amanda, I just wanted to let you know I have subconsciously thought of you today. DS3 is just starting speech therapy to correct his lisp, and his usual therapist was not there today. The one he had today was someone I'm not familar with, so I wasn't sure of her name. When we were leaving, I told him to say goodbye to Amanda, but after we were almost home, I realized I think her name is Andrea. Oops! She didn't even correct me! So, you must be on my mind today. ;)

What a great thread-stalking day again! :rotfl: I'll have to go back at the end of the day and see what all I've overlooked!

:lmao: That is so funny! That lady probably wondered why you kept calling her the wrong name. Or she may be like I am, and answer to anything, and think nothing of it. :rotfl:

I usually answer to "Heyyyyyyyyy."
At least Andrea and Amanda are somewhat close! I'm glad I didn't call her something TOTALLY wrong!

Ok, that's too funny!!! I remember Amanda's name, because it's my younger sister's name. And, then Amanda's DDs name is the same as my oldest! And Val, your husband's name is the same as my brother's name.

:rotfl: That almost freaks me out a little bit Amy. If all the quiet ones here (cough, cough) would speak out a little more, I'm sure we could find even more similarities.
