I’m new here, this is in fact my first post. We’re a family from Belgium (Europe) of 2 adults and 1 son of almost 10. We speak Dutch, so that’s why my English might be a bit strange sometimes
We’re planning to visit Orlando in April 2023, because this is a school holiday for my son. My husband and I have been to Orlando once before in 2010 (8 days end of April/ beginning of May). So way before Potter, Pandora, Star Wars, Cheetah Hunt, Iron Gwazi, Ice Breaker etc., lots to discover!
We’re the type like ‘do-as-much-possible-and-maybe-do-it-again’. So we’re going to the parks at opening hour and we’ll leave when they close.
For 2023, we’re going to stay 11 days (flightdays not included). We’ll get tickets for 6 days WDW, 3 days Universal, 1 day SeaWorld, 1 day Bush Gardens. 11 days = 11 parks. Crazy, I know, so 3 days (2 Disney and 1 Universal) we’ll get to the parks late after trying to catch some sleep and enjoying our Florida Villa (with pool). Our son just keeps on going, so we shouldn’t worry to much about him, it could be us (almost 40y) who’ll have it difficult
April 3rd to April 13th, including Easter, we know it will be very busy at the parks, that’s why we still buy tickets for our ‘restdays’, to be sure we’ll be able to do everything. 1 day Universal extra for the Potter rides (we’re a fan of the books and movies, even my son) and then 2 days Disney … but which parks??
HolStud could be useful because of the Star Wars part, AK for the Pandora part. But then again, AK doesn’t have many rides and MK had the most rides. Epcot it will definitely not be. Even doubting to go at all, but for my son’s sake will take it along. We have no hopper tickets, to much time spilled there as I feel. (Universal are 3 hopper days because of the Hoggwarts Express and Potter rides and the parks are really at ‘hop-distance’.
If I’m correct we have to place park reservations so we won’t be able to choose which 2 parks we want to spend a second day in … that’s a pitty ☹ And I assume last minute changing won’t be able that busy time of year.
We’re not staying on property, so no early hours for us, that makes it a bit more difficult ☹
If necessary we would buy Genie+ to make most out of our day. But LL for separate attractions is really expensive and doesn’t fit into my mind-set.
I think we could use Genie+ in MK, the other parks don’t seem really necessary?
Can someone tell me how Easter period is like? Which day is most crowded? Friday, Saturday, Sunday? In Belgium we have Easter Monday as a day off? Doesn’t this exist in America?
Should we go at park opening at Easter Sunday, because majority gets to the parks later that day? Or is it better to make this day a restday and go to a park in the afternoon? And which of the 8 eight parks would you pick? I’m thinking to pick a Disney park. Because Bush and SeaWorld are much better on weekdays I read.
So, how should we spent those 11 days in Orlando? Tell me all your tips & tricks ☺
