Is anyone having trouble checking in on Alamo? It keeps telling me that the coupon is invalid and tells me to continue without coupon, which is fine, but it won't let me go any farther than that. Just keeps giving me the same red line at the top about the coupon. Once it told me to put in correct values for my name and confirmation number, which are correct. I leave tomorrow, so of course the rates are through the roof so I can't just re-book. Has anyone run into this in the past?

What is the coupon code that is giving you trouble?

I just used a $50 coupon code that worked for my reservation, now crossing my fingers that it works when I do the online check in. The code is AD4004JDK in case anyone wants to try it. I now have my midsize SUV rental down to $206.85.

Someone posted it was an insider coupon. It was around in previous years, but seems to work right now.

I've noticed the prices are starting to drop finally. I'm still under 4 weeks out. Yes, there is no standard and you choose from the full size aisle.

Just a heads up for those of you using Vegas Brazil: I checked in at the counter (my card wouldn't read at the self service kiosk) and was told that I wasn't authorized to use the code as it excluded US and Canadian residents. I think she looked closer at the reservation when she saw my rate because she said something about it being too low. After 30 minutes of arguing, I was able to get them to finally honor the rate, if I took the additional insurance. So, my $300 rental became $500+. Didn't know about online checkin though, so maybe that would have saved me...

so you didnt do online check in and tried to do the kiosk on your own? Everyone I have spoken to including an alamo rep said the code was just fine to use Sorry that happened to you. I already checked in online so i am hoping i dont encounter that problem!

I want to book with VB and the 50$ off but I want it to be in my DHs name so we can do online checkin. Does that mean it has to be thru his insiders account? Or will he be able to check in at the kiosk with a credit card and confirmation number without the insiders number assigned? (He is away on business and I am wondering if I need him to figure out his login from a far..)

I can't give that to you here. But if you log into Costcotravel.com and go to the Rental Car page...
...At the bottom are 4 coupons with cust/contract ids on them.

My trip is in two weeks. Is there any advantage to checking in now? I know rates could go down more but I don't imagine they will go down much more. I was wondering if there would be problems with the coupon if I check in two weeks from now.

I would wait to check in. I agree, the regular (non Vegas code) rates are getting better. I've gotten a headache with all these codes. I'm 3+ weeks out, so hoping the "regular" codes get better. It's been nice seeing some drops the last few days.

You do have to be a member to use the Costco code. You have to put your membership number in when booking the car.

Questions on how online check in works ...We will have an extra driver. Do we put both drivers info when checking in? If we do online check in, what do we do when we get to airport? Do we just go to the aisle and pick a car and go to booth? Can either driver pay for the car with credit card or does it have to match person who did the rental online and has the Costco membership?

I only know from Alamo...
Costco Membership holder has to pay with their CC and supply membership card at checkout.
With online check-in, you go straight to the car and drive away. You will come to a gate where a clerk will take your licenses for both drivers, CC, and Costco membership card to enter in the computer. He hand sit back and you are on your way.

This makes me nervous. As others start to use the Vegas Brazil code, please post back here to let us know how it goes and how you checked in. My Costco discount is still about $70 more than my existing VB reservation. Hoping that gap closes so I can use Costco ultimately.
