April 2013 Jet Blue/Southwest flights..?

nope we normally fly out of BDL, and have traveled on the last 3 april school vacations and have never ever paid the prices I see now! We would have never been able to go. We live 30 min from BDL (Hartford/Spfld) so it has been super close and super affordable

I'm so glad I booked the day they came out. 315 RT but with layover each way. I will never go April vaca week again. I'll sweat it out in August next trip!

I still see some in that price range but it is each way!?? and with a layover, yuck....Once you factor in parking at Logan which is very expensive it is quite depressing. Trying to figure out if it is worth it to drive 2 1/2 hours to Newburgh SWF to fly nonstop for 1,236.00 after our credit?????? Those flights are nonstop to MCO.

I actually looked into flying out of there as well! It's almost 3 hrs from here. I was going to book it for way down but didn't. Wish we did now! We don't get into MCO until 330 ..

yeah the times are perfect for us, price is decent...its just the 2 1/2 hour drive to the airport! Sounds lame I know! the thought of landing and then having to make that drive back home is not so appealing...

Just checked again. Went from $820 to $900 per person! Does anyone actually pay these prices?

Ours just went up $60 per ticket on JetBlue. I'd really put some stock in those who said that prices would likely go down. At this point I don't know what to do. Totally rethink our April trip and skip Disney? Wait to see if they come down still? Hope that Southwest has reasonable fares once they are released?

It's really a shame that airfare is so out of hand.

we are going to wait on Southwest to see what their prices are...so that means we will have lost our credit, thanks alot Jetblue......:sad2:

Not sure if anyone has answered but SWA will be releasing their next batch of scheduling on August 27 - I'm waiting for a flight on March 29 myself :)

I thought someone here said SW pushed their release date back into September. Am I hallucinating?

yes I read somewhere that they were not releasing the next round until Sept. This part of the planning I do not like.:crazy2:

To find the date Southwest is gonna open up their schedule, go to Southwest.com, click on the Travel Tools tab and choose 'view all Travel Tools.' The paragraph near the top reads:

Travel Tools

We are currently accepting air reservations through March 8, 2013. On September 10, 2012, we will open our schedule for sale through April 12, 2013. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

We flew out of BDL the last 2 years. BDL is one of those small airports that receive special funding from the government to lower their ticket prices and keep the airport viable. I don't believe they are receiving it right now due to congress not passing anything.

If you hear or read about Congress passing something to do with FAA funding for small airports, check prices at BDL. Chances are they'll drop pretty quickly. I discovered that 2 years ago with Jetblue.

This year Boston was running lower than both BDL and PVD for months before Jetblue opened up. For both Jetblue and SW. I am avoiding Logan's parking fees and bus fees by renting a car at Hyannis airport for one ways: about $60 (Budget) each way. PVD parking is cheaper, but it's still doable. You just have to leave earlier to take into account dropping off the rental car and taking the shuttle.

If you live 30 minutes from BDL, I would fly out of Laguardia LGA New York. Nasty airport or whatever, 2 and a half hour ride for great prices $110-$130 is a deal! Better than driving, that's for sure!

Laguardia?? I think that is farther than newburgh or westchester for us....we are north of BDL so we travel 30 min south...i'll check it out. Parking fees? Totally outrageous from there?? Boston is 1 hour from us, but the prices there are crazy too, and most are connecting flights.....no way.

OK I think now they're just playing games with our heads.

As of this exact second (7:27pm EST August 9) it once again reads:
