April 2013 Jet Blue/Southwest flights..?

We are new to JetBlue, so please accept my apologies if this seems like an idiotic question! Lol!

So if I book with JetBlue as soon as they release the fares, and the price goes down after that, they actually credit you the difference? If so, what kinds of hoops do you have to jump through for this to happen? I'm imagining something along the lines of a performing monkey . . .

Thanks to all the JetBluu fliers who are willing to help hold our hands here! :-)

And Southwest does the same thing except you can do it right online and not even have to call! What I also love about Southwest is if a better flight drops down in price but have already booked another one, you can switch for no extra cost and they'll credit you the difference! Unfortunately, I've found that Jet Blue has had better pricing for me recently so I haven't been able to take advantage of that feature.

I'm waiting too. We fly in April a lot and there doesn't seem to be any pattern to when jetblue releases their fares. It's different every year.

What time of day does Jetblue open up the new schedule? I know they send an email to notify you of what day about a week in advance. Southwest usually opens up around 5am or 6am.

We got separated last time on SW (for the first time ever) and my eldest DS wants to go JB this time.

ArielDreams do you fly out of BOS or PVD for Southwest? It seems PVD is cheaper...

PVD - it is definitely cheaper and the airport is FAR less of a hassle than Logan (with cheaper parking too!) I've just been booking my recent trips to late to get a better deal on SW.

FYI - Jet Blue will allow booking through April 30th on Sunday 7/22 at noon! And they've opened service to Orlando from PVD... super psyched!!!

Well......I just booked our April trip....leaving on a Thursday coming back on a Tuesday (picked those days of the week since they seemed the cheapest). Prices were probably around the same as last year except this year we're going to fly out of Providence instead of Boston. At least we will save on parking....::yes::

(I can remember paying $39.00PP each way one year....must have been a loooong time ago)!! :confused3

...good luck all!!;)

No go for me and my friend. She had it booked at about $665 PP (Yeah like thats any good anyway) but her phone reset and when she booked it she accidentally had us coming back the day after we go!! She called but the prices were over $1000 each so she cancelled the it. Back to square one.

disneyobsessed, where do you book out of to get that price?? Its still high, but if I take my credit off it comes down a bit.... we always have flown nonstop too, but I am freaking here:scared1:

anyone have any experience with Newburgh, NY airport? Never even heard of it :confused3 but they have nonstop to mco for 350.00 pp rountrip! once I apply my credit it comes to 1,124.00 hmmmm

We booked on Sunday when dates were released... we are leaving BOS at 1055 with a 45 changeplane layover in DC coming home we leave MCO at 835 or 825am with an hr lchange plane ayover in Newark. Yesterday and today I checked the same flights.. and they are over $700... Good Luck everyone...

thanks!! Even on Sunday when I looked the flights with a layover were crazy! I am hoping to find something close so have been looking out of PVD, BOS, and was just noticing Newburgh, NY??? We always use BDL so this is a little stressful. I don't want my credit to expire.

I have not used this airport personally because HPN, also a small regional airport, is more convenient for us. I think the Newburgh airport is near West Point but not 100% sure:confused3. The one bit of advice I have having used the smaller airports is to check into the availability of parking. I know that became an issue at HPN as it became busier with the addition of JetBlue, although there's now a great off-site parking alternative that has helped alot. Prior to that we were using a car service so we wouldn't risk not finding parking, and the cost of that almost negated the savings of going to the bigger NY airports. Good luck!

I checked all options. Flying out of bos then flying home into pvd or bdl . Boston both ways was cheapest option.. Hopefully they will drop.. I wont do April again. Ill stick with August!
