April 2013 Jet Blue/Southwest flights..?

thanks everyone! going and coming from different airports won't work because we leave our car at point A and if we come home to point B we will not have our car Newburgh is about 2 hours from our house but the price is decent.

The last time we booked this far out for April, the airline changed our itinerary twice and we ended up with a totally different flight schedule that cost us a day of our vacation. My gut tells me to wait until at least 6 monts out to book. I'm sure Jetblue will will offer sales throughout the year. Just have to keep checking!

Just checked and if you fly Tuesday to Tuesday of school vacation week it is $165 each way from PVD to MCO. Check TPA too. That is what I'm paying for October so I think that is GREAT. Too bad we're skipping a year.

I can leave on the Friday before school vacation (April 12th) but no earlier. So we are limited between the 12- and coming back anytime up until the 21st. We want this trip to be 8 nts, but if we have to do 9 to get better flights we will. I keep checking and checking between doing things here at home and its driving me nuts!

Yikes, it has jumped since we bought on Sunday. We paid about $320/pp. Last year we didn't book until August for the same April break week and we paid about the same as this year so maybe the prices will come back down. Although we cut the trip a little short to save on airfare (we went Monday to Saturday, which was cheaper than going down on Sat. or Sun.).

Yes they must have went up, I didn't even think to look at that airport. I was looking at BDL,PVD, and BOS and found nothing. So know I will keep westchester on my radar....Newburgh is 2 1/2 hours from my house, ughh! We have been spoiled by the 30 min ride to BDL every year! Holding out hope that the flights come down there for us. Glad some people were able to get something affordable and within their dates!

Depending on which is closer - SWF or HPN - is probably most important to you, but parking is much more expensive at HPN. At SWF it is $10 per day or $60 per week. At HPN it is $28 per day and parking at HPN is not as easy as at SWF.

I live in the area and fly out of both quite often - so any other questions, let me know.

chances of flight being cancelled - no idea - you can check flight stats online I believe.

I can share other info on swf - but not sure what you are looking for. Did you have a specific question in mind?

Guess I was just surprised when I clicked on my dates April 13-20th instead of having a couple choices of times there was only 1. So I was wondering if anyone had any experience with flight change times or cancellations overall. Its ok! I will keep my eye out for something at BDL, PVD, BOS first then if that fails I will look to HPN or SWF...even though they are further. Our dates are pretty much set except that we could fly out on the 12th if it was much cheaper. If I have anything more specific I will ask thank you so much

yeah, the reason for just one flight is because of the size of the airport. I've never had a flight cancelled from either airport, but that is just me.

If you go to FlightStats, it shows the SWF-MCO route had 1 flight cancelled from May 2012 to July 2012 and HPN-MCO had 0 flights cancelled (same date range) to give you an idea.

Thank-you for this info. Our vaca is the week after and I purchased tickets to ft lauderdale for 305.00 rt. I will be taking the shuttle in to Boston but even then it is a whole lot less expensive then what the other airlines want. I usually wait for SW but I did that last year and had sticker shock. Just for kicks, I plugged in my flights for your vaca week and I couldn't believe what they were! Wow! First time on Jet Blue so excited for that.

Do you normally fly out of Logan?

I NEVER fly or travel to wdw over vacation weeks for a few reasons, price being one of them. I knew April would be expensive but I wasn't expecting these fares!!!!
