I called yesterday and got a AAA discount rate applied to my room. Unfortunately, given my time frame (April 13-21), it could only be applied for 4 of the 8 nights. The last four nights fall under the "Easter Peak" pricing and I'm guessing that it is not eligible for an AAA discount. But for now, it's money saved - just not as much as I would have liked.

Hi all!
My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon to Disney for April 2 - 10 as we're getting married on April 1. This is the longest trip we've ever taken, by two days, yay! We were really hoping to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge but not so sure a deluxe resort is in our future unless we get some kind of discount.
I'm so excited to start planning though! Our last trip was two years ago and we're itching to get back. I think picking all our dining reservations will be the tough part as we have so many favorite places now!
Any other pin traders going in April??
Also, we're thinking of booking through Small World Vacations this year. Has anyone else done this? We've never used a travel agent before but they're authorized by Disney, free, and will keep looking for discounts for you. Seems like a pretty good deal...

Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt this time of year the Flower and Garden Festival?

Yup! It is so beautiful to see all the flowers!!

That's right. The Flower and Garden Festival is supposed to run from March 2 to May 15 next year, so DH and I are hoping that in April everything will be in full, beautiful bloom.

Yeah this stinks that we are not included!!! Feb school vacation is included, but no April???? It is a price difference of $1,357.40!! I would save if we went during Feb!!!!!! Could I risk the cold weather though????? I just love Disney in the Spring

I agree! We are flexible with our dates, but went last year for the first week of February and it rained and was cold the entire time! We decided never to go back at that time again. Now I know that weather changes from month to month and so on, but we are just not going to risk Disney "winters" anymore! I'm still holding strong for a late March or April discount....

I priced out our time frame (more days though than we'd actually go) and the cost was over $8K without flying. Even reducing the number of days a bit, we'll still be over $7K and that's without airfare. I don't think our Disney vacation will be happening.

I am holding onto something for April... There is usually something for most any time of year. Hoping that since they released these early this year, maybe they arent done????

Sure it would save me money to switch to February. But with the free dining, I am wondering if crowd levels will just be bigger with it? Does the free dining usually draw bigger crowds?

Feb 21st - 25th isn't included (that is our Winter vacation)

April 14 - 18th isn't included (that is when DS will be down with the marching band)

stay dates 1/3/10-6/3/10 -package deal for general public (gift card with purchase of full price package)

stay dates 3/14/10-8/14/10-package deal (kids stay, play and dine free) for Disney Rewards Visa Cardholders

There was also a room only discount

I do NOT know if there were blackout dates though around Easter....pretty sure there were but not sure on the exact dates

Both times we were sent refund checks for the difference because we had alrady paid in full.

In 2009 4/3 deal with offered over Easter
In 2010 room discount (30% at moderates) was offered.

Basically you have to be prepared to pay rack rate Easter week and than be super excited when and if a discount comes.

That is exactly what I am hoping happens this year Another teacher here so I am locked into my vacation dates which is also Easter this year You can be sure I will be checking every day until I actually board the airplane But we will be at Disney so I am sure it will be another magical time
