Has anyone here ever done Universal Studios in the same trip? My older two are 15 & 16 & my boyfriend is pretty adamant about doing a couple days there. I'm trying to figure the best way to work that out. Stay on Disney property still & just shuttle back & forth? Or end Disney on like a Wednesday/Thursday & do Universal the rest of the time?

I keep hearing horror stories about April/Spring Break/Easter crowds. Is it really that bad?

If I remember correctly, your room keys from Universal hotels serve as express passes on many of the rides. This can be important during a busy time, and so I would stay there rather than Disney for a few days. Also check around to see if you can get some kind of deal on a hotel/park ticket combination.

As of right now, I'm booked at the Dolphin with my teacher's discount...but the minute a code for our week is released, I will be booking a Savannah view at the AKL. We'll be happy either way, but I'm really hoping to be watching zebras from our balcony in three months!

Last year codes came out for the week prior and after Easter, but not until almost the dates approached. Disney must wait to see booking rates before deciding to unblock those weeks and allow codes.
Right now booked into Dolhpin/Swan, but am an looking for codes.

My sister was at Poly this fall 2nd week Nov. She had the AAA rate and then about 3 weeks before her trip, they had a GP room discount of 35 or 40%. So she switched to that one.

Those are the exact dates we're going for our honeymoon! If you book by Feb 13th it's 15% off AKL. I need 5 more posts before I can include links, but go to the disney world website, click on "Special Offers" under "Tickets and Packages" then click on "Last chance to save on early spring travel" and it will show you the deals they have right now.

I have my fingers crossed!! My husband has a business conference in Orlando April 18-20. We have already planned to go down from the 15th-22nd to celebrate our 15th anniversary, but staying at the hotel where the conference is being held (and from what I've read about it, it isn't a very great place). If they put out a good enough deal, we will stay on property and get DDP!! I REALLLLLLYYYY want to get a discount!

Hi guys. I was hoping someone more experienced with hunting down the discounts can help me out. We are hoping to go in late April for at least 10 days. Can't leave until after the 18th. We are looking for a package discount. No kids on our trip so that offer they have now is no good for us.

Last year we were there April 11-19 and did our first 5 nights at CBR using the gift card promo - we got the $500 gift card and it was incredible. The rest of the time we stayed at Pop on a room-only discount. We saved a lot of money and I was hoping to see something similar by now. Do you guys think we will get something like the gift card promo this year? Ideally we would like to do the same thing again. On another thread someone was saying they thought the "buy 4 nights, get 3 free" was going to come back for the spring but I don't know about that one. Any advice? Thanks.

Always check AAA rates when there isn't anything else available. Right now I have the week before Easter booked: my 'good' 35% off discount ends on the 16th (at BWI) but I was able to get about $75 off per night with the AAA for the rest of my trip. It's better than nothing.
