A little more than a year later and I'm FINALLY planning my next trip! YAY! I've been having serious withdrawls! This trip, there will be 6 of us: 2 adults, a teenager, and 3 children (ages 8 and 9). We (myself and 2 daughters) are going with my best friend and his 2 kids. I LOVE POP and think I really want to stay there, but is it more economical to stay in a larger room thats sleeps 6 (can't remember which resorts sleep 6)? We are going on a budget, and want to spend as little as possible on lodging, but want to be on property. Any suggestions? I figured 2 bathrooms would be great, so 2 rooms may be our best option. Oh, the kids can sleep together, but he and I can't (wont). Also, I haven't been able to get any rates online for packages for 4/08. Aren't people planning for Spring Break already?

Thanks,
Wendi

We already have our plans set for the same time, only there will be 22 of us. party:party:party: The '08 rates aren't set yet that's why you can't get prices. We are DVC members so we have set rates from year to year. Have you thought of renting DVC points? DVC resorts are considered Deluxe but I've been told that renting saves mega bucks over buying a regular Deluxe room. A two bedroom villa would get you room for 8 with your two bedroom and two bathroom. The second bedroom is really an attached studio but still much bigger the any budget resort room. You would also have a full kitchen so you could eat some meals in and save some more money. :cool1: You can get lots of information on the DVC forums. Check it out. :thumbsup2

A DVC two bedroom villa will cost more even by renting a reservation from a DVC member than two rooms at a Value resort. The Ft Wilderness Cabins sleep 6. The All Stars Family Suites sleep 6.

Even if you did decide to rent a reservation from a DVC member, it might be too late to do it for Spring Break.

Room Rates

2 value rooms vs. Family Suites at All Star Music.

For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

Also a fridge is included in AS Suite.

Fridges cost $10 a night to rent when staying at a value . Don't forget the Queen size bed,a coffee pot and microwave are also in Family Suites.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) last Sept. (2006)

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no meatle bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

Thanks for the replies. I'm a little rusty on my planning. I cant believe how much information Ive forgotten and its only been 15 months since the last trip! Im still not certain which way will be best for us. I love POP and the family that is going with us hasnt been. Well, the daughter has, but it wasnt a planned out vacation, so she hasnt experienced Disney the way "we" all do. I really want this to be a fabulous trip for them.

Any other suggestions or comments are welcomed. I always get such great advice on here!

Thanks so much!
Wendi

On a budget, two rooms at a value or the family suites at ASMusic are the two best choices in my opinion.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I made my ressie today! Took 40 minutes, but I did it! I decided on 2 adjoining rooms at POP. There is a micro in the food court if we need it, and I dont drink coffee. My friend that's going does, but we will all have refillable mugs anyway. Since we are 2 different families, we will have the option of closing off the rooms when we change clothes or just want a little privacy.

I did have to go with a room only ressie, which may work out to be ok afterall. I'm awaiting the changes of the DDP before I decided if we will go that route.

Thanks again for the help.

I've never planned a trip this far in advance, and I think I might hurt myself with so much time to plan. I am sooo OCD w/ Disney stuff!

Did you get adjoining rooms or connecting rooms? Adjoining only means that they are next to each other, but don't have a door between them.

Hmmm, that's a great question. I ASSUMED they would be connecting...I'll have to check on that!! Thx!
