Hi..you can add another 4/2 cruiser:

DH (John)
DD 10 (Jordan)
DS 7 (Taylor)
and Me..Joyce

We're from Suwanee, GA and it's our 2nd Crusie. First was Sept. '03 - Western.

We can't wait!

Welcome! We're from Dacula, just up the road. We're very excited and now with the ice, we're ready to be where it is warm! They interviewed someone at the Atlanta airport who missed their connecting flight for their cruise because of the ice. They were now stranded at the airport instead of on their boat. I'm really glad we are driving!

Dacula, We are driving as well. More control that way...cheaper, too. This is our second time on the cruise. We went on the Western Carribean back in Sept. 2003 and really enoyed ourselves. We have been sitting here this weekend since you can't do much with the ice, selecting our excursions for the trip. I am going with DH, DS (age 7) and DD (age 10). :earseek:

Just got done faxing my excursion request in as well. Hopefully it won't be booked up already!

Now I'm just debating whether I should splurge and do a spa treatment or two!

I don't envy ya'll with the ice at all! :cold: We've just been having a break in our winter weather- so while we can use the snow in the mountains...I'd rather be somewhere a little warmer!

Oh Man! We're almost under the 60 day mark!!!!! Never thought it would get here back when I started my count down at something like 410 days!

Is the banana new? I really like that guy  . Anyways I finally owned up to my 1st graders teacher and let her know that my DD would miss the Friday before Spring Break for the cruise. She said it was alright as long as we pack her in our suitcases! I told her there was no room, but I might be able to squeeze her into a carry on :crowded: ! Time is really flying now :hourglass . OK I really like some of these new smiles! :dancer: We'll better go before I find another one I want to use!

I booked the Atlantis Submarine Adventure in St. Thomas for our group. I think we will also do the Paradise Tram in St. Thomas; I've read the bird show is cute, the view terrific and for those so inclined, a wonderful speciality drink  is sold in the bar area.

I don't have anything set for St. Marteen - - thinking we might just "wing it". via the water taxi and the in-town beach area.

I am on the fence about the Bananna Boat on Castaway Cay. Out 8 year princess: can be tricky - - she did not start riding the merry-go-round horses that go up and down until last summer but she is fearless going down the sledding hill at school and has had the stitches to prove it.
:confused3 :confused3

By the way, am I the only one with a line item in my budget named, "Foo-Foo Drinks"?

I certainly have foo foo drinks in my budget :goodvibes . We really don't drink much at home and I really love something cold and fruity when on vacation. I can usually only handle one or two a day! Anything more than that and you would have to put me to bed! :p

Hi

We've booked the Atlantis submarine as well. Never been on one in water before. It sounds like it would be fun. We're doing a catamaran at St. Maarten.

Although, I am now wondering what the foo foo drinks are....we don't drink much at home as well....

:rotfl2:

:cheer2:

Foo Foo Drinks are a way of describing the tropical, fruity drinks in the fancy plastic glasses. Like Bahama Mama or Cool Breeze or Yellow Bird. There is a drink of the day for each day that is specially priced. Usually in a pretty color and with multiple, exotic ingredients - hence the term "foo-foo" for useless or silly fanciness.

The adults in our group are not big on drinking, but these taste mostly of fruit juice and are very appealing. There is just something about the concept of relaxing on a ship deck with a Foo-Foo Drink that seem straight out of the movies.

I include a line item in my budget for Foo Foo Drinks (which includes non-alcoholic smoothies and fancy coffee drinks) because with our group of 5, even 1 or 2 a day per person for 7 days adds up! Also because I suffer from obessive complusive planning disorder.

Thanks, Tiggerish.... :Pinkbounc

They sound like my something my DW would love...I tend to like the drier drinks...

With the two DDs, we also find ourselves budgeting for smoothies....those add up pretty fast too!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Time to start packing my bags.

Last night I was looking over my planning to do list and almost everything is crossed off or penciled in.

So Sorry to hear that RachelTori had to reschedule. Kaitlyn was looking forward to meeting Tori. Congrats on selling so quickly and good luck with your move. We'll miss you.

We signed up for "Under 2 Flags" excursion in St. Maarten and the "Coral World" noon excursion on St. Thomas. I read good things about the bird show on the Tramway too.

I too have the foo-foo drinks budgeted. Starting with the Sail Away drink special - those are good - I let my daughter have the Shirley Temple version last year and she really lliked it. I thought this is a nice way to try new drinks I normally wouldn't and relax while at sea. It's rare I don't have to drive home anyway :moped: .

Only 2 more months! :bounce:

Here's something I read Sunday and today in two entirely different articles. One article was about tourism and cocoa beach. The other Return to flight.

For those interested in the space program:

We're too early for the launch, however starting mid March, Discovery is suppose to make the long awaited trip to the launch pad.

Anyone know a good place to view the towers from? Would love to snap a few pictures. Have photos of Atlantis when it was being piggy backed to Canaveral. Made a pit stop in TX. It's just neat to see them when opportunity presents itself. Seems like my trips to florida have always followed Nasa losses (Challenger/Columbia). Probably never see one launch first hand.

I have an uncle that used to work for NASA and we went down about 15 years ago and stayed in a condo on the beach that he owned. One morning (I say morning, it was about 10:00 and I was in college, so that was morning) they launched something and all of our windows rattled! We asked my uncle when my dad and he returned from deep sea fishing and he said it was some sort of rocket and they watched it from their fishing boat. I can't imagine how it is when they launch "the big one"! I think you can she the launch towers from most places in cocoa beach near the water as long as you know where and what to look for. I finally went out again today to buy, among other things, odds and ends for the cruise. I think I am getting close to having all that crossed off my list. I was having a hard time finding a good selection of sunblock  :sunny: . Everytime I think I'm almost finished I think of some more things, but I'll get there. That's why I started right after Christmas. OK to be honest I started 18 months ago when I booked the cruise! :rolleyes1

Thanks..make sure i bring my telescopic lenses for the camera :)

Oh boy, you guys sound organized too! I still have a list to get going on! I have hit the Summer Catalog for JCPenney's pretty hard.
Believe me..not easy finding summer clothes locally right now :)

Not a problem here, summer is out and winter is way clearanced! Bathing suits are plentiful!
