April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

I've been on the Wonder 3night cruise twice before. How does the Magic differ from the Wonder?

Anyone here have a teen going? My DD is 14 and would like her to possibly "know" someone before going.

We also have two teenage girls going with us one is 14 and the other 16.

The Wonder and the Magic are very similiar. The both have the large screen by the goofy pool aka "Ariel view" "Dumbotron". The Wonder has the splash playground by the Mickey pool the Magic does not have it yet(maybe next drydock.)
The Magic has Tritions's where the Wonder has Lumiere's
The Magic has Beach Blanket Buffet and The Wonder has Topsiders.
You will see a difference in decor Magic Art Deco - Wonder Art Nouveau
Adults only district Magic Beat St and Wonder Route 66.
Teens club The Stack on the Magic and Aloft on the Wonder.
There are a few other difference the bow Magic Sorcerer Mickey Wonder Steamboat Willie Mickey. Stern Magic it is Goofy and Wonder it is Donald and Huey.

Guest Services, The theatres and the resturants are all in the same location.

yogibigdog, where in mass? I am in Dracut. Are you near us?

My DD was wondering where some of the teen girls lived. I was thinking that maybe we can get together at some point before the cruise and have a teen meet?

What does everyone think?

not quite neighbors but my dd Jenny is 14 at time of sailing

ebaynut31 I got your pm and I'm waiting for my daughter to tell me her screen name for AIM (I probably should know it but oh well add it to the list). She has been sleeping and sleeping (found out she has mono). I'll send it your way as soon as the princess has arisen from her lair....oops I mean royal chamber. (just kidding she really is a great kid).

In reference to something you said in the pm are you going to try any of the tastings that will be on the cruise like the margarita, wine, or beer tasting?

Has anyone one gone to these tastings and how did you like them?

dis2cruise-well we are from NY but about 3 hours away from you. we will be in the night before the cruise at the hyatt. If your DD would like I can give you my DD screen name if you pm me. I think there are several girls about their ages on this thread. maybe we should let them start their own thread.
The teens of cruise 4/19/07 or does that sound too ominous!

Maybe instead of the teens starting to give each other their screen names - it might be a great idea for one of them to start their own thread! As I was looking through this site I saw that other kids have done this and it looks like we live pretty far from each other to do a pre-cruise meeting.

If I can do all three tastings then yes. I would do beer, margarita, then wine if I had to choose an order.

What are the prices? I don't know about these yet.

We have done Eastern Cruise twice before (April 2005, April 2007) and did the tastings both times. The beer tasting was 6 different beers for $8.00. The wine tasting was 6 different wines for $10-15. The margarita/tequila tasting was $15.00 for 4 different tequilas and 2 different margaritas. These are a lot of fun and very informative, plus you meet a lot of fun people.

Welcome to all the new members of our thread. I have been so busy I hardly have time to get on the DIS anymore. :confused3
I am anxiously awaiting this cruise. Counting down the days. It cannot come soon enough.
I would really like to do the Margarita tasting. Missed it last time. I have to take a look at the Navigators to see what day and time it is offered. I assume it is on a sea day.
Talk to you soon.:grouphug:

We will definitely do the tastings. I like stuff like that.

We got such a good deal on the cruise that our friends may be joining us.

they have a 7yo boy also.

should be interesting for me to have a 14 yo girl and 7yo boy (who is my godson)..I really hope he enjoys it. it will be his first trip ever, anywhere.

I was just able to switch one table to main dinning. If anyone is looking for main dinning call now!

I just switched as well!!! Hooray!! I wasn't looking forward to let dining w/my youngest. I think my oldest would have been ok (probably in the kids club, anyways)....but a 15 month old. we had late dining when our oldest was 2.5, not too fun.

Thank you for posting yogibigdog!

Margarita's, now your talking! Sign me up ::yes::

The Stingray Excursion through Nativeway: they want me to fax my credit card number :sad2: Anyone do this before? I'm not really comfortable doing that! Is it safe?

When I used Nativeway they did not ask for a credit card. I just paid them cash when we got there.

Is it possible to link up dining reservations with people you meet on Dis Boards? My fiance will be on our honeymoon on this trip and would love to maybe link up with some dinner companions. We are in our late twenties, late dinner, with no children. My aunt and uncle just returned from their Disney cruise and had a poor experience with their dining. The first family they were seated with spoke no english and then they were moved to a table by themselves. :( On our last cruise, we had a great time with another family and wouldn't want to miss out on that experience. Anybody looking to fill out a table?

hi all. Time has gotten away from me...started a new job in Sept so it has been a little crazy around here. I just wanted to say :cheer2: Welcome :cheer2: to all the new families or groups joining us on the cruise. I can't believe we are just about at the 6 month mark!

gottago..are you Middletown NY? If so, there are quite a few of us here on board from the Hudson Valley. I live in New Windsor.

Joan: To answer your way back when question about flights..I don't have my flight info in front of me, but it looks like we are on the same flight home from Atlanta to Stewart. The times look familiar, but yet I looked at so many, I could be wrong. I will let you know.

Anty: Did you guys score flights yet?

Talk with you all soon.
Michelle

Hey Michelle, long time no hear. Congratulations on your new job. It's been busy now that the kids are back in school. Boy, I didn't expect this much homework in 3rd grade.

OSUBuckly asked about grouping up for dinner - anyone know the anwser? I would like to do that as well with some on the thread. Anty, Michelle are you interested in that? I have the late seating, if I remember right, someone or both of you have early.

gottago had to change her reservation from April to December so they won't be going us. They were from Pine Bush.
