April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

Looks like we will be joining you also.

Me (Karen), my daughter Jessica, my sister Donna, and my Godson Joey.

It will be Joey's first cruise - he'll be 7 and our 3rd cruise.

Can't wait to explore the Western Caribbean!

:welcome: ebaynut31!

My son will be 7 and we are also from Massachusetts. If should be a lot of fun.

Did you get your airfare yet?

Thanks for the welcome.

No we did not get airfare yet. Any suggestions?

I had been watching airfare since May. I ended up going with Airtran out of Logan. Flying down the day before. Jet Blue came out really high@ $750.00 per person for non stop flights. Delta wants over $ 1,000 per person. It was a lot of work but we ended up getting tickets for all 15 of us just under $300.00.
Southwest out of Providence or Manchester NH is the only airline that has not opened up dates for April yet. They are schedule to release dates thought May on Nov. 8(subject to change) If Providence or Manchester are options for you(or Bradley) I would be online that day watching for flights.
To fly with DCL they wanted an extra $250.00 per person extra to come home on the 26th. Bring the total to $700.00 per person(it did include transfers to and from the ship)
It was around $450.00 to come home on Sunday but we have to get a hotel a Disney World for the transfers to work.
If you let me know what airport in the area that is best for you I will post if I see any deals. ( I am always checking flights)

Good luck!

:headache: With these airfair prices it is going to be pretty crowded on I95 come april 17th.

yogi, couldn't you just stay at/near MCO and still have transfers?

Thanks for the heads up about southwest. I will be on the lookout in early november. We live almost exactly between Manchester and Logan.

Where is Bradley?

I prefer Manchester but will take Logan if I have to. My sister has that Ding thing thru southwest also.

Any help I can get with airfare is always appreciated.

Thanks

ebaynut13,
Welcome.
Where in MA, because I too live about 1/2 way between both in Taunton.
We have a group of 9 going on this cruise.

We plan on flying , but JB is just way too high for now, hoping for SW or something...

Jeff

I know where Taunton is. I work for Hannaford and opened up the one there.

I am in room 6070.

I've done the 3 night cruises before, looking forward to a week long one!

They will take you back to the airport then I would have to stay at the Hyatt or find a hotel with a shuttle from the airport. But we found our flights so we don't have to do this.

I don't know the room number off the top of my head, but were on 7 near the mid ship elevators.

everyone thinks i am crazy for sailing on school vacation week. I tell them that the ship can only hold so many, so what's the problem?

I'm sure there will be a lot of people from mass that week.

I think NJ has the same vaca week.

Anyways, I am sure we will decorate our door and have anyone who wants to sign it as a great memory of who we sailed with.

Now my next thing is finding old navigators for the Magic to see what is to do for my teen daughter.

I am jealous because some of those teen activities sound real fun.

This will be my 3rd April vacation cruise with DCL. My 6th Disney cruise overall. On a Thanksgiving cruise it was so cold when we got the ship they were serving Hot Chocolate. We always enjoy the weather during April.
There is really no difference like you said the ship only hold some many people and it sails sold out most of the time.
Even the parks aren’t bad during Massachusetts school vacation. Parts of NY also have the same week. The problem is getting a flight out of Mass. It is also crowded every third year when our vacation coincides with Easter week.

We will defiantly make a door sign. Maybe t-shirts and once we made buttons for our Dis group meet.

We're not far from you...we're in Townsend.

Welcome to all the newcomers. I have not posted in a while and had alot to catch up on.

Hi TiggerStac. We are neighbors...in Lunenburg.

We got our flights back in May....from Logan to MCO. We prefer Manchester, but found a decent price on USAIR out of Logan. Good luck to those still waiting for Southwest....

I drive thru Lunenburg everyday...to get to work in Lancaster. I'm not originally from out here, moved out here from Wakefield about 1 year after hubby and I got married (6/00).

I've been on the Wonder 3night cruise twice before. How does the Magic differ from the Wonder?

Anyone here have a teen going? My DD is 14 and would like her to possibly "know" someone before going.

Hi ebaynut31 by DD will also be 14 at the time of the cruise. She uses AIM and I can give you her screen name if you private mesage me.

I see you did the 3 night cruise - how old was your DD at the time and did she have fun at the clubs?

The first was 8 yo then a year later. The first year she couldn't leave without me getting her, the second time I allowed her to sign herself out if she paged me first.

Honestly, I hardly saw her the whole 3 days. She loved it.

As a teen now, though, who knows how it will be. I will pm you either late tonight or tomorrow with her aim as well.

I was looking at the teen activities and I am jealous. They really know how to keep them busy and fun.
