and our current plan will be to drive to Florida.

My sister and brother-in-law have condo in Cocoa Beach and do the drive a lot! Its doable and a great time of year to do a drive like that without the risk of snow storms.

The air fare is out of control right now for that week. I booked airfare a while ago and thought I was nuts to do it, because it was prior to Southwest coming out with their fares and we always book Southwest, but I was getting super nervous. Turns out I got a pretty decent deal in comparison to Southwest fare - we will be flying Delta out of Logan on the Thursday prior to the cruise. We got direct flights, which with children my kids ages is essential, and stayed below $350 for each person. I thought I was going to die paying that much because we have not as of yet had to travel on vacation weeks, but I now know that is the norm for a vacation week fare.

Did you just book the cruise?

Feel free to go over to the other site that was posted http://disneymagic0418.activeboard.com/ which is secure. You will sign up and then be given permission to join. This way we can post photos of ourselves and introduce ourselves and post our cabin numbers.

We live in Chalton MA.
Have driven to Florida many times and will this time unless there are drastic cuts in airfare.
Everyone is excited for the cruise.
Any suggestions as to best excursions.
DD will do Wild Side at Castaway Cay
We were looking at some tours for Grand Cayman and Cozemel

We paid our cruise in full about a month ago, but I seen that a Cat. 12 GTY was $850 cheaper than a Cat. 11...So we changed to a Cat 12 today...More Konk Koolers for us!!!

We are going to do Palo dinner on the night we leave Port Canaveral!

How was everyones Holiday?

castlegazer just posted on the private board a link to a trip review which I spent all day reading... it's awesome.

I'm thinking of the Dolphin excursion in Cozumel now too... the review mentions something about a discount because multiple people signed up together. If this is something anyone is interested in, we should discuss on the other board. (I posted a bunch of stuff over there after reading the trip review today).

DS doesn't know how to swim, and he may be a little freaked by the dolphins (but might do ok), so I might do just the "encounter" with him, while MH and DD might prefer either the Royal Swim or the Swim Adventure. At $100-150/each, a discount would be great for any of us looking to do that. Castlegazer also posted on the other board about sharing transportation...

Getting REALLY excited after reading the whole trip review!

sorry to post in both places, but I know people join as we get closer and wanted to keep things going so they know we are here!

Cozumel: We are doing Chankanaab - I think on our own, so we would be very happy to share transportation and get a group together to do it. It looks like absolutely the most fabulous place!

I won't be doing the dolphin encounter because my kids are a little young for it. You can see the dolphins from the pool area and can watch people with them. That will be enough for my kids. They're a little timid with creatures.

tinkerbell77, awesome rebate - welcome to the Cat 12 team!!!! :thumbsup2:cool1: My savings were over $3 thousand dollars to do the change in category - SO WORTH IT! I plan to upgrade at the port if its available. If not I am watching for all the good advice for an inside stateroom, like keeping the TV on and tuned to the deck cam so that when the sun rises you can see daylight in the room! Cool!

Grand Cayman: We rented a 46' sailboat with our friends for the day - I am beyond excited for this port! I am going to be pretty disapointed if we don't make it into port - which sometimes can happen in Grand Cayman.

just posting the link to the other board again... and reminding people if they use this page (http://disneymagic0418.activeboard.com/index.spark?forumID=126996&p=35) that it brings you to the "Recent Posts" function -- meaning you don't have to search through all of the different forums (that helps to keep the topics organized)... it's all of the posts in order of the most recent activity.

Reading that trip review has gotten me really in the mood to think about our trip. I need to start looking around some more of the disboard but I get overwhelmed with all of the information. So anyone posting interesting links, I appreciate it! :surfweb:

Hi! I'm new to this thread and very new to cruising (so is my DH)!

My DH and I will be on this cruise celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary in a Category 12! I booked kinda late so I didn't get any great pricing on nicer rooms...oh well!

We stayed in WDW for our Honeymoon, Disneyland for our 1st Anniversary, and now DCL for our 2nd Anniversary! I wonder what will come next?! :rotfl2:

I'm going to read through this thread and hopefully get to know some of you better!! I can't wait...so excited!

Hi kma! Happy New Year!

We have been posting on this board, as well as a private board we set up (http://disneymagic0418.activeboard.com/). We set it up as private so we can post more personal details if we choose... so far, I'm the big poster, asking tons of questions, as I have never been on a Disney cruise. Thankfully, castlegazer has been answering so many of them, with tons of information and links. It's kept me busy my entire vacation, and I go to bed each night dreaming DCL dreams!

Anyway... if you want to register on the other board, I'll approve you and maybe you can join in on the posting there too :cheer2:

Thank you!! :) This is my first time cruising too so I have quite a few questions...I'm sure this board will be very helpful! Thank you so much!! :thumbsup2

I registered for other board
states I must be approved by admin
Would like to post on other board
We are booked on this cruise

you're in (we just thought we should make the other board private with preauthorized approval so that if we are putting private info on there it's not totally public for the whole world to see :thumbsup2 )

Thanks
I will try to keep up on both sites

I was browsing through other cruise line forums and was folowin the fish extender forum.
Has anyone given thought to startig a FE swap for our cruise ??

I finally finished reading all 24 pages! :rotfl2:

Now I'm off to see what's going on at the other board!!

There are a few us who have stated that they wanted to do FE exchanges but I haven't seen that it's a "GO". Now that we're getting closer to the 100 day mark - I'm hoping more "cruisers" join and more interest in the FE's grows.

Thoughts everyone?

hey D... a few people have been signing up in the FE post on the other board... will get this thing kicked off yet!

I just did an Oriental Trading order last night... anyone who wants pirate patches let me know... pirate: it only came in 48 in a pack, and well... we don't have that many eyes! lol

Hi everybody!

I haven't posted in a while. I'm now just really getting into cruise planning mode since our 90 day window is coming soon. I'm trying to plan those babysitting hours perfectly since I only get 10 hours at the nursery.

I switched to the late seating for dinner. I think we will put DS in the nursery from 8pm to 10pm five of those nights so we can relax while we eat. I know most of you have older kids but does anybody have any past experience with putting their little ones in the nursery? My DS will be a month shy of 3 so I am hoping they will let him into the oceaneer's club.

I have to look on the other boards and see the excusions people are planning.
