>> April 1, 2012 - Disney Dream Spring Break Frenzy! <<

My 9 yr old son will be in the Oceaneer along with his 5 yr old brother and sister and he is thinking the same thing....not so much as going to the tween club (he doesn't know about that) BUT being stuck with his little siblings. Sounds like there will be quite a few girls his age, but not too many 9 year old boys. He is pretty outgoing and hangs out with friends who are boys and girls....although a big group of girls might make him head the other direction, lol! If she doesn't mind a UM fan who is a boy, he is stuck there too.

We DID get a snow day today, hope you got one too!

My husband got a snow day, but my kids did not. They weren't too happy about that. He teaches in a different district than we live.

I'm sure my daughter will be happy to hang out with boys and girls. Her BFF is our neighbor, who is a boy. She is even friendly to Wolverine fans, despite bleeding green. :)

She was happy to hear that there will be lots of kids her age. And my son is happy to hear that there are going to be kids his age as well. We're all looking forward to this trip so much!

So we are going to be in Cape Canaveral the night before the cruise, checking out the beach, the Space Center... just wondering if anyone has ever been to Rusty's Seafood and Oyster Bar.. looks like an amazing place to kick off the cruise with fresh seafood and a fun atmosphere....

If anyone else is in the area let us know, would be fun to meet before we kick off our wonderful vacation.

Oh boy, I guess I should be added to the OCD list too then because my daily itinerary has been in the works for over 2 months and is constantly updated as I need or airlines change schedules etc.

I am at Kidani Village in between cruises as well so may see you as I have to get the DCL buses to and from Jambo House.

Kingdom Keepers fan here!! And yes I saw that it is being released during our trip. I plan to purchase it on my iPad in between my Dream cruise and leaving on the Fantasy on the 7th.

D73- how long are you staying there... we are only there for two days.. bummer because I love this resort and could relax there and stay a month.

I got my cruise documents today!! Strangely I only got my stuff as DF technically lives in another state, but my parents didn't get theirs. So, THEY ARE ON THE WAY!!! Time to start watching the mail! :cool1:

Wow, your kids must have been pretty upset! For Dad to have the day off and they don't, that's tough for a kid. :rotfl:

As far as being friendly to Wolverine and Spartan fans...hmmm...the Spartan one will come easier, and we'll start practicing with the Wolverine thing...maybe...:rotfl2: Just kidding! ...sort of... :rolleyes1 Hey, it's a tight Big 10 bball race, what can I say right now...other than O - H - :cheer2:

In all seriousness, I think these kids are going to be making some super fun friendships. I know mine will want to keep in touch with kids long after this is over. Ahh...getting soooo excited!!! :)

Yes, the Big 10 is a tight race. The Final 4 weekend could be a good one for some of us. I'm sure we'll have Spartan gear on either way - we all have a lot of it in our wardrobe.

We're driving down before the cruise and staying in Port Canaveral on Saturday night. I love the idea about getting the kids maps. We're driving straight through from MI only because we can't leave until Friday afternoon. My kids have Friday off - but my DH doesn't. I took the day off to get the car packed and we'll leave as soon as he gets home. I told him I'd take the first shift of driving. I'm hoping the kids sleep a good part of the overnight part of it. I'm a little bit stressed about trying to drive so far in a straight shot - but I think we'll do okay.

We are doing the Discover Atlantis excursion, just to say we've been in Nassau. My niece and her DH went on a Carnival Cruise in Jan. and said it was nice to see the aquariums. I don't think we'll spend a lot of time in Nassau, but I'm glad we're going to look around a bit.

I just ordered shirts from an Etsy shop for Pirate night. There were cute Pirate Mickey shirts for girls and boys. I only got them for the kids - but they are excited. And they are personalized, which my kids love. They both have names that aren't commonly found on pre-made personalized items - so they love when they get a chance to have something with their name on it. pirate:

I'm definitely the planner in our family - and somewhat OCD about it. I've definitely been the schedule maker for our other Disney parks trips. This time I'm trying to be a little more "go with the flow" but I'm still researching and reading about everything so I know how to make the most of our trip.

Debbie, for the record, I would rather have a FE group of 14 than a group of 28. I can go either way though! :cutie: I am very flexible. I will need to make more things if we have 28. Thanks for all the planning you are doing! I really appreciate it!

We would like two groups of 14, but we represent 5 cabins. Hopefully you are counting us as such and dividing us up between the two.
Also, I've kept quiet about our Ohio connection, but I feel like the Michigan people have increased their numbers lately. My parents are OSU graduates and my Brother-in-Law grew up in Columbus, OH - all of which are coming on this cruise with us. I have grown up disliking Michigan, but I will try to take the high road and play nice.
Go Bucks! :cheer2:

I agree. I prefer 14 but will still love participating if it goes to just one big group. Thanks for all your hard work and planning.

I think we are at 28 participating staterooms. I was still planning to separate into 2 groups and also separate families traveling together. So many people were interested in smaller groups and so am I, since I am flying. I know I am going to regret writing this but... if anyone is intersted in being in a large group - meaning doing the FE with all signed up staterooms, let me know and I will make three groups. I did hear from one room that they are interested in this option. Deb T. you may have to help me out with this since you are the expert, having done it last year.

So, basically, you will divide everyone into two groups as planned. Then, all you do is add me (and anyone else who would like to participate with everyone) to both groups. :thumbsup2 I'll be more than happy to assist with the process if you'd like.

Yea! Another Buckeye. :) We'll likely have our Ohio State shirts on at some point, as we always bring some when we head south. My husband and I actually have our Mickey Mouse OSU shirts. We have a great photo doing the OHIO pose back in the open seating of Cabana's, overlooking Castaway Cay. I can't remember how to post photos...reminder? I'd put it up if so.

Okay, so I remembered how to post. Funny story about this pic. This was on the first cast member preview on the Dream. Our friends (both CMs) are the couple in the middle (hubby and I are the "O's"). My husband, Tim, and his friend are graduates of the University of Arkansas (they were 4-year roommates). Tim grew up in Oklahoma, so he was never really a Razorback's fan (he was an OU Sooner fan). However, UA gave him lots of $$ to go to school for free, so you don't turn that down!! Anyway, our friends decided we should have a bet (now that Tim is a die-hard Buckeye fan) when UA and OSU met up in the Sugar Bowl, literally 3 days before we sailed. Being a lifelong Buckeye and knowing how they disappoint us so at times, I was reluctant, but it was their idea. Losers would wear the shirts of the winning team around the ship and get a photo op. When the game was over (and what a crazy close game it was!), Tim just texted his friend and asked simply, "So what size shirts?" It was classic. They were great sports and even paraded around the decks in front of their colleagues (and several UA grads). When the Buckeye's tattoo-gate scandal happened and we had to vacate the win, we told our friends we'd gladly retake the photo at the same location! ;) We'll likely have these shirts for this trip, too. Whether we wear them on the ship or in the parks, I don't know (of course, maybe both since we'll have laundry back at BWV when we return).

I have just 2 nights as well. DCL bus from the port to Kidani Village.

Plans include Epcot on Thursday for Flower and Garden Festival and meeting with friend for dinner at Le Cellier.

Friday I have to go to the airport in the morning for an interview to be able to pass through a speedy line at customs and immigration for my future returns to the USA. But then Friday I imagine will be used to enjoy the resort during the day and then 'Ohana dinner followed by Extra Magic Hours at MK.

Saturday I board the DCL bus again back to the port for my Fantasy Cruise.

Nope, I am not a planner at all:laughing:

I would prefer to be in a list of 14 rather than the whole group as we are flying and have to watch our weight. Also packing 13 sets of gifts home will be easier than 27 ... Will you be able to give us details shortly after 1 March when the list is closed so we can get shopping? Have bought a few bits already but it will be handy to know exactly who I am buying for. Thanks for all the extra planning you are doing :)
