>> April 1, 2012 - Disney Dream Spring Break Frenzy! <<

My 9 yr old son will be in the Oceaneer along with his 5 yr old brother and sister and he is thinking the same thing....not so much as going to the tween club (he doesn't know about that) BUT being stuck with his little siblings. Sounds like there will be quite a few girls his age, but not too many 9 year old boys. He is pretty outgoing and hangs out with friends who are boys and girls....although a big group of girls might make him head the other direction, lol! If she doesn't mind a UM fan who is a boy, he is stuck there too.

We DID get a snow day today, hope you got one too!
Hey Brooke! Connor is 10 and will be in the kids club with Asia, who will be 8. I know he will be looking for kids around his age to hang out with. He didn't spend much time there last year, lack of boys his age.

I know there has been talk of meeting up on the first day. This is a great time for all the kids to connect so they can meet and be able to look out for each other. Last year our meet thread had all the kids were something lime green on the first day, helped us spot each other in the terminal. We met a few families in the terminal because of the lime green colors.

Regarding the FE...

Yes to MMDDMD (hope I got that right, going from memory) - I will divide the 5 groups among the two groups...does that make sense?? I did count them as 5 separate staterooms. If you want to PM or message me on Facebook with advice to separating the five rooms that would be fine, other than that it will be three staterooms in one group and two in the other. I will divide the list tomorrow at work, cause of course I keep forgetting to save the spreadsheet to my USB! I will PM everyone the details. Then if people sign up from now to March 1st - I will just add going from one group to the other. Anyone who I haven't heard from regarding the details, I will put on a back burner list and give them till 3/1 to respond after that they are off the list. So for now it looks like 14 staterooms in each group.
Hope this info helps!
Debbie

Someone asked me in an email about the size of the FE - Most are pretty skinny with the pockets going vertically down. If anyone has made one - could you please share the dimension details! I did something different. I just got a small tote bag and ironed on a DISign from the creative thread with our names on it. Then I used a plastic zip tie to attach the tote bag to the hook outside our stateroom. Everyone should not forget plastic zip ties to attach their FE! You don't want someone to walk away with your FE!

My DD, Izzi, is an only child and her not having someone to hang out with has been one of my most pressing worries. I am so grateful that we have made connections here. I think wearing a common color on port day is a great idea. Have we established a definite "meet" for our cruise meet yet?

This all sounds great! I'll be working more on mine later tonight, so it's nice to know an approximate number now. Also, GREAT tip about zip ties! I would have never thought of that!! :thumbsup2

DD and I watched the Dream sail out of Port today on the Webcam. It's getting closer.

In response to Debbies fish extender dimension request, I just made two this weekend! 8 inches wide appears to be the right width to fit, and mine is 28 inches long with three pockets. From pics I would guess you could go longer.

Brookie- I have a 6 yo DS, but my sister has a 9 yo boy so don't despair your son won't be the only one!

Thanks, clco53103! Never made one before so that's very helpful.

We use cable ties to close all our suitcases/bags. Easily cut into by TSA and obvious if someone who shouldn't have cut them has! Nice and cheap too. Just remember to pack a pair of scissors in an outside pocket of the bag so you can open it when you get there!

need some help, I remember a month back or so there was a link posted to a nice document that had all kinds of tips on what to pack, extra things to be bring, etc. One of the board members put it together and I apologize I don't remember who it was. If anyone else recalls this and has a link handy I would appreciate seeing it again. TIA.

That link no longer works. It doesn't seem that the one at the end of that thread works either.

Ooops! You're right. Okay, well, a long time ago, I cut & pasted it into a Word document. Let me see if I can figure out a way to get it posted on here...

Hmmm, it wouldn't cut & paste neatly in the post, so I've altered it so that it will (I think). So, below is the entire list, but not in the original order. I kept everything on the list - - - not sure why they would say to bring items like toilet paper and bar soap, though! :confused3 I guess that's why it was the "Ultimate" packing list. :rotfl: Also, I noticed a lot of repetition of the same items. :confused3

And honeypot13 - still need details of people in group and stateroom #.

So I updated the FE...tried to find it back when I posted the latest Roll Call but didn't see it. Not sure if I posted that update back on 2/21. I am going to start splitting the group so that I am ready to send the PM on 3/1.

Let me know if I am missing anyone...

Debbie

Good gravy what a detailed packing list! Thank you!!!!

Does anyone know if a 12yo can get a mani and/or pedi on board? I know the teen chill spa is for teens, so...

Thanks!

:banana::banana::banana: Yeah! :banana::banana::banana:

It's really starting to seem real now. I began working on my packing list in earnest yesterday and so today the gods rewarded me with my cruise documents. If I'd only known, I would have begun sorting through my information ages ago. ;)

Now I'm truly excited to finish up my fe goodie bags as soon as we have the finalized list. I had been sorta dreading it because I want them to be nice for everyone and know what my OC standards are like. (Remember, there's no D, only OC if it's not a problem).

Virginiafam... did they come Fedex or regular mail???? We don't have our's yet but I know that they are on their way.... WHEEEEE

Ours came regular mail. A little larger than a regular legal sized envelope. :thumbsup2
