We are taking our first Disney Cruse on Apr 1-5 Wonder for Spring Break. Taking DD(17) and DS(10). We can't wait to go. Hope there are some older teens for my daughter to socialize with. We are starting to take these last "big" vacations before she heads to college in a year. We are staying at Radison at the Port on Sat Night too. We cannot wait!

Your children will have so much fun. There is so much to do for any one of any age. I saw a lot of teens my last trip. You have to go to the activities right away so that your child/teen can meet friends. That is the key. Get them in there first thing on Sunday. Everyone is new then and that is the best time to make friends.

I know I am more excited than my two girls. They tell me to calm down everyday.
One says we can't get excited until the day we leave. I am constantly putting stuff into the suitcase pile.
How can they be so calm?

I don't know how they can be so calm. Yesterday, I went to Sams club in Douglasville to pick up a few things. While browsing, I stumbled upon a very nice snorkel set for my son. I just had to get it. He has not seen it yet as I still have it in the trunk of my car. Hopefully he will get excited when I show it to him.

hi.. we are going on this cruise too!!! my ds is a 6 year old fun loving social butterfly.. so i know he'll meet lots of girls..(and boys too) sooooooo i just am so excited and can' t wait to get away and enjoy the ship... our first cruise !!! do the little kids ever get sea sick??? /I]

My DD6 is a tom boy and loves boys. I hope they will team up and meet. She does not get sea sick however, my DD9 does. I just carry motion sickness pills in my purse for her and me too. She also gets car sick. If your DS doesn't get car sick you should be ok.

We didn't book Palo this cruise and didn't even try. Maybe the next one or when the girls get older. Are you first or second dining? We booked 2nd because we felt rushed last cruise to get to dinner on time. We'll get a snack if the girls get hungry.

We are planning on getting to the terminal right as it opens to get our boarding number. SO EXCITING!! We are all going to be wearing matching outfits - blue Mickey/Minnie Camp dresses for the girls and matching Shirt for the Dad. It will look great for the boarding photo.

I called our travel agency and they said to expect them a week before the trip - but I am so excited I can't WAIT to get them in my hands
Do they really wait unti the last minute like that, or could I expect them sooner?

We are terribly excited. DH said I am way too uptight about the packing and preparation and that I should chill out but I just can't! I have lists for lists!

The snorkel set at Sam's looks good - but if you got the package for Castaway Cay - don't they give you snorkel equipment - or would we be better off with our own???

Thank HEAVENS it is a teacher workday in Gwinnett today - I need a day where I can daydream

It is exciting!! I am the same way about packing and you have to be else you will forget something. I think you can get snorkel equipment on Castaway Cay but my cousin brought her own because others do use that equipment. She wasn't sure how clean they would be - germaphobe.

I filled out all my on-line forms and printed out the contract stuff. I haven't gotten anything else either. As long as you know your ID number and have the signed contracts you are safe because it is paid for - We are getting on board

Hello All I am also cruising on the April 1st wonder with my cousin (my2cuties registered on here), her two kids 11 and 13 and my Aunt. I just got my pappers today too. Woohoo! This is my first cruise and I am very excited. Sad I am leaving the hubby at home but this is not his thing,lol. I tried very hard to get Palos for brunch but have not been able to I hope to try again once I get on board. My family wants us to eat together as a family every night so my one chance with my cousin is brunch,lol. So keep your fingers crossed for me.

Well, we are on the lookout for our tickets. Maybe I am just too anxious??? We are all so excited. Two weeks from now it will be over - very sad - BUT - One week from today and it will almost be time to TRAVEL

It is HARD to work with all of this spinning in my head! Everyone around us is getting that flu bug - so we are running away from everyone and the germs!!!

If I should start panicing about the tickets, please somebody, let me know!

We are all trying to decide on which sea-sickness avoidance/cure to take. Anyone with any suggestions???

For seasickness, if you want to take a pill, I like Bonine. Just take one tablet once a day and it does not make me drowsy like Dramamine does.

Wow--- time is flying by and I need to get my mind on our cruise! This weekend I need to figure out clothes for the trip. I am going to TRY not to overpack (but I always do). For nights, I need 2 casual outfits (I think skirts or maybe capris), 1 dress-up outfit, and pirate garb. For days, I will need swimwear and something to wear to the straw market in Nassau. So, why will I end up lugging along a bulging suitcase??????

We are flying in the day before and staying by the airport. We hope to be on one of the early buses to the port and get our cruise vacation started. Afterwards, we are heading back to WDW for two days to catch the Flower and Garden Festival. I am so glad it is starting early this year. I've been wanting to go, but it typically started after our spring break and before school was out for the summer.

Crowds will be a challenge those two days at WDW, but we have gone at Christmas and learned to work with it. Going to parks early and late and using fastpass along with taking midday pool or shoppping breaks seems to work for us.

I better go start working on a packing list and figure out if I need to pick up anything while I am at the mall today.

We finally received our tickest and cruise documents this week.
My son is so excited, I know it will be a challenge keeping him concentrated on his schoolwork all week. He is not going to school on Friday because we plan on starting our road trip to Orlando at 5:00 AM Friday morning. I will secretly inform his teacher. I'll let him know on Thursday.

We were informed by our travel agent that if we switched to a lower category room, we could save lots of money so we did. Here is what he wrote.

Apparantly Disney wants to free up some outside cabins on this cruise and has extra inside cabins. They are offering the the following. Any one that has an outside cabin and willing to change to inside will receive the difference back between the two prices PLUS a 25% discont on the entire cruise amount. That equates to anywhere from $800 to $1200 per cabin (see below).
If you do move they will do their best to keep you in the same area as the others, but no guarantees. You can call anytime until 8 PM tonight or tomorrow 10a til 2p. If you do NOT want to change you need not do anything.

We were able to receive a $1,000 off of the cost of our cruise by switching from a Category 7 to a Category 10 cabin.
