Apple upset at Aussie grocery chain over new logo

An apple is NOT the first thing that comes to mind when looking at that.

Looks like a stylized "W" to me. I can see how it might remind people of the Apple logo when changed to silver as it is in the link you posted. On the actual Woolworths site where it is green it really doesn't resemble the Apple logo at all, in my opinion.

I don't think it is close enough to be infringing. It is styled completely different and it doesn't even have the bite taken out of it.

That looks nothing like apples logo.
Its a darn fruit its got to be pretty common to use as a logo.

If Australian trademark law is anything like US law, Apple ain't gonna win that one! They must be hoping that the threat of a protracted legal fight will be enough to get Woolworth's to change the logo on their own.

Hmmmm I don't think I would look at that and think Apple computers. Maybe they could make it a different color or something to make it easier on themselves.

As it appears in the link that was posted, I totally get how Apple would be upset about that (the stylized silver version). Otherwise, no.
