Thinking during F&W of doing Appetizer and Margaritas instead of full dinner, then going back to booths for some great desserts. Have ADR at San Angel, but there are some reviews that have not been "glowing". Any great appetizer recommendations? :confused3 Thanks in advance!:goodvibes

Our Recommednations:
. . . appys:... Tostadas de Jaiba, Tacos al Pastor
. . . entree:.. Mahi-Mahi, Mole Poblano
. . . dessert:. n/a

We really enjoy the queso fundido with chorizo. We were very pleasantly surprised with our meal there last month. Had not been in years but our meal and service were very good.

Please note that this is not the same as cheese dip or queso that is promoted in Tex Mex restaurants.

Quick question about the tortilla soup...how spicy is it? I know that's very subjective, but to give you some perspective....I can handle about 1/2 of a sliced jalapeno (like what you get with ballpark nachos) without major heartburn, so I'm a little on the wimpy side. We are trying San Angel Inn for the first time next month, and thinking about this as an appetizer, and either the carne asada or mahi mahi for an entree.

The soup is WONDERFUL, only mildly spicy, really good flavor. The presentation is very cool, the broth is in a little pitcher and poured on tableside. I would go just for the soup!
