I did some *light* shopping today. Looking for stuff for work for warmer weather. It is always at least 68 degrees in every office building I've ever been in. But you would not know this to look in the stores. Women are no longer allowed to wear sleeves. It doesn't matter if you are 82 years old--you will no longer wear sleeves.
I went in Marshall's first. They had 6 rows of "Tops". At least 4 of the racks were all sleeveless. Sleeveless blouses, sleeveless T-shirts, sleeveless sweaters. Then they had a rack of what appeared to be leftover sweaters from the winter season. Yep, they had sleeves and they were black, brown, and wool.
I did find ONE DRESS that had sleeves. It was a stretchy polyester knit thing that was somewhat cute on the hanger. I put it on to find out that it had the NEW Kimono style sleeves. When I put it on my 42 year old, still somewhat shapely body, I thought I looked a lot like Shelley Winters from the 1970s version of The Poseidan Adventure. YUCK.
Don't get me wrong, I see all the models in the magazines in these cute sleeveless tops. My DD wears all the cute sleeveless things. But this is not a good look for a 42 year old woman who hasn't seen the inside of a gym in 3 years, who is pasty white, does not tan, and is getting freckles on her arms. Not good at all....

I am not laughing at you, but with you. I hate shopping, and things like this make it worse. I am in the same boat with you!
. My arms aren't big but I still prefer to wear short sleeves. To all the clothing manufacturers out there...
