Hi,

We are heading to WDW in 2 weeks and have decided to get APs with our DVC discount.

Is there any benefit of buying via Members Services ahead of time or can we wait until we get there and buy them at DTD?

This is the first time we have purchased APs so not sure how the vouchers work.

Thanks,

No benefit to pre purchase. You can buy them at any Guest Services location. Make sure that you have your blue member card and a picture ID for each AP owner.

The only benefits to buying ahead of time -

1. You think the price will increase before you arrive (not likely in your case)
2. You have several to buy and want to spread the cost out over several months (you're arriving in 2 weeks)

If you buy ahead of time, you get an exchange voucher or a will call number. In either case, you still need to go to Guest Services to get the actual pass. Your year of admission starts the day you buy the AP or exchange the voucher / use your will call number to get the actual pass.

Can you buy the Tables in Wonderland card at the same time? I'm also arriving in 2 weeks and am wondering what is the best way to deal with purchasing these 2 items!

Yes, you can.

Question from a DVC newbie: What's the discount on AP with DVC membership? I didn't realize there WAS one?
Thanks!

The adult DVC AP is $389, or $414 with tax. That works out to ~$100 off. I can't remember how much the child DVC AP is, nor do I remember the price on the premium AP, though I believe the discount on that is about $125.

and you still need DVC card and DL too when you arrive right?

I am showing up on Wed and the other DVC owner isn't showing up till Thursday...I was trying to buy them both to save time.

If I remember right....with annual passes the person who they are for HAVE to be there to pick them up right (DVC or no DVC

All persons must be there to show their ID to get the ticket. You won't be able to get one for the other person until they show up.

Everyone doesn't have to be present but you must have photo ids with the same address for all adults. I usually head out to Guest Services a few minutes before everyone else to save a bit of time.

But that probably won't help you, bgsnmky, since the other owner presumably will need his/her id to drive or fly.

actually if they will let me do that..I can have their passport and they can keep their DL. Then I will have passport and DVC member card.

that will save us some time.

Can you buy the AP's for family members staying with you or is is the DVC member only?

Only members that live in your household. They must have the same address as the member as listed on their picture ID.

GREAT! Thanks for the quick reply. That works for us as it is myself, DH, Dmom and DS and we all live at the same house.

I know this thread keeps saying Guest Services to buy an AP but can they be purchased at the hotel or only at the Parks? I'm arriving late (11:00 p.m.) next Thursday and if I can get it out of the way that night so we can head right out to the park in the morning that would be great!

Thanks!

Resort desks do not sell APs, only standard MYW tickets. For an AP you have to go to a park, TTC or DtD.

They will lose a day on their APs if you do that as the APs will be active as soon as you purchase them. The little time saved might not be worth it.

One other thing....for many years we've been renewing APs or purchasing new ones but with our expired APs in hand. The CMs always use the old ones so I think our info is in the system even if the APs have expired. If you are purchasing your very first APs, your experience may be different than mine. If Chuck S doesn't know, you might try asking on the Attractions forum for confirmation. There are two posters who know all about admission media....GoldenOldie and Cheshire Figment. They will be able to help you with certainty.
