AP voucher + MB

we decided to get 1 AP for the discounts offered but do not actually plan on visiting until May 2018. Plan on booking room discounts around January but no actual onsite viSit to wdw.

DO We get magic bands after we activate AP? Since we will still have a voucher until May. Already planning to customize MB with would like to get it in advance.

You seem to be asking about two different things.
Do you mean getting a MB "after activation" (meaning after you have visited WDW and USED the AP)
or do you mean getting a MB "after purchasing the voucher?"

Also, are you booking a Disney hotel with an AP discount? If you are then you will be provided MB for your hotel stay and they will arrive before you leave on your trip.

Sorry I mean getting an MB after buying voucher (to customize early). If I understand it correctly I won't be a able to have active AP until I get there

Not sure about the voucher, but upon our AP renewal there was an option in MDE to choose our bands or decline. Also there was the same option to choose for our July trip.

You can costumes your AP magic band after you activate your AP at Disney. Your AP magic band will ship a few day latter

Policy seems to be that you are able to customize and receive the ap band after you've activated/used it. So that almost always arrives after your first trip.

Some lucky ones get to customize after purchasing the voucher. You'll know if your situation is policy or glitch after you buy the voucher.

But if you're staying onsite anyway, you'll get mbs from that onsite stay. The ap band will be another band you'll have.

We had to wait inter after activating to customize and receive bands. As others said, if you have an onsite stay you'll get them anyway.

Yes you have to activate the voucher first before getting the band. Once the voucher is activated then u can go onto your MDE account and customize.

And to clarify .......... customize means (1) pick a color (2) put a name on the inside. This doesn't mean anything to anyone but you.

This is the same exact customize that hotel guests get so .......... if you are onsite, you will get some, then after to activate your pass you can get more.
