AP special 2 years for price of 1 offer

This really bums me out. We just bought AP's in Orlando on March 26. I wonder if they would honor the deal or not. Anyone know if they have done this in the past?

Thanks,

Pam

I renewed my AP's last July, but wont activate them until our June trip. I think I will go to Vacation Services and see if I cant upgrade our AP's to get the 2 for 1 deal. I know this was allowed in 2002 when I checked. (they have been running this offer every year) We would have to pay the difference. Hopefully this is still the case and since I will be there before May 31st if they say yes I will still have time to purchase for our June trip.

Pam,

I bought my AP online in late March. When I went to the park last week, they said they would upgrade my AP as long as I had the coupon. Luckily, some kind soul in line had an extra, so I upgraded it as I had my photo taken. They did say they would upgrade me at any time prior to the end of June if I returned with the coupon.

Hope this helps!

According to the US website, the 2years for 1 price is for Florida residents only. Do you have to show your drivers license when having your picture taken for the pass? Just wondered if those of you who don't have Florida Drivers Licenses have had an issue when picking up or using the 2for1 annual passes?

Where do you see it says for Florida residents only? You got me worried and I went to check it out and cannot find that anywhere. When I ordered them yesterday I had to put in my scottish address and there was no problem and it made no mention of needing a florida driving license or anything like that.

When I went to the US website, I clicked on their specials and the offer didn't come up. So I clicked on Florida residents and it came up. Here's the website. I called US about an hour ago and asked for the best rates and special offers and she didn't mention it, but I told her that I heard about the BurgerKing/CocaCola offer while I was on hold, so she told me about it. She didn't mention that it was for Florida residents only. Maybe the fact that coupons are available only in FLorida is enough to make them think that only FL residents will redeem them.

I think it does come up, though, if you click on Annual Pass.

Yes it was on the annual pass bit. I am not going to worry about it - quite a few non florida residents have ordered them!

I have called twice asking questions about this buy one year get the second year free offer, and of course I have gotten different answers both times that I called.

The first time that I called the agent tried to tell me that the APs would expire at the end of April 2006. Well I knew that didn't make sense.:o So today I called back and was told that if I did not activate the APs by the end of June, that I would not get the second year free.

However, the one thing they both DID tell me is that I could buy them. I did tell both of them when I called that I was from Alabama. The last agent even ask someone else to be sure.

Don't know if any of this info is correct, since the agents don't seem to all be "on board" with the info, but maybe it will help someone.

Last year the promo said the same thing... and it wasn't just for Fl Residents....it was for anyone... and last year they did let you upgrade if you had just gotten your pass ( I think in the last 30 days) as long as you had the coupon. I had a renewal that wasn't activated yet...they let me upgrade but instead of the $99 I paid to renew it... I had to add the difference as if I was purchasing a totally new pass.... I added the $70 and go the 2nd year free...so it was worth it for me.

We have decided to upgrade our 5-day passes into AP Power Passes. I email Guest Services, and they said I can do this, as long as the 5-day passes were not used yet. We are planning a second trip early next year and will be paying only about $30 more per ticket.

I e-mailed Guest Services about the 2 for 1 AP offer:

I recently purchased (2) 2-Park Preferred Annual Passes using the Burger King coupon (Buy a Year Receive a Year Free). We won't be arriving until October 2004. When I purchased the passes online, it stated that all passes will expire June 30, 2006, or two years from 1st date use, whichever comes first.

If we activate our passes in October 2004, will our passes expire June 30, 2006? I would just like to verify this.

Here is their response:

Thank you for visiting Universal Orlando Online.

Yes, your passes will expire June 30, 2006 if activated in October.

Please keep watching us here at www.universalorlando.com, as we will have many exciting and new developments in the next few months.

Best Regards,

Guest Services

Anyone want to share a coupon??? I would love to take advantage of this deal.

Thanks bunches!

You don't need a coupon if you purchase your passes online. Just enter the code: 6106111030025

Thanks!!! I love this deal.... 4 visits in 2 years and it is more than paid for! WOO HOO!!!

I esp love this offer with our small kids. Now I feel like we can go there for 1/2 day and do what they can, and not feel like we are blowing a lot of money!!!

I ordered these tickets about two weeks ago. Before I did I called three times to confirm that you did not have to be a FL resident. I also asked each time if I ordered on-line if I had to have the coupon with me when I went into the park to get my pass and was told no.

Another thing it does say on the sample vouchers I printed off the fan club website: *Buy one 2-Park Preferred Annual Pass at the regular price of $169.95 plus tax and get a second year FREE. Pass must be purchased at the full price, or upgrade fee will apply for additional year" Also, "Not valid on renewal or discounted Annual Passes or upgrade charges may apply. Valid on new purchases only. No other discounts, promotions or coupons may be combined with this offer" "Purchase locations oinline, AAA locations, Universal Orlando ticket window or by calling 1-866-PASS4FUN. There is nothing about having to be a Florida resident. I think I'll go ahead and take a chance on it for our mid-July trip. At best, I will only lose 2 weeks that are past the expiration date in 2006. At worst, I will be paying $169.95 for 1 yr preferred pass, which is what I was originally going to do.

It seems many different answers given from Universal agents on this topic, please use answer I got from Universal as a reference ONLY -

1. I just came back from Universal today and here is the pass activation answer I got from Vacation Services CSR - IN PERSON (where you have your photo taken and issued official pass):
You can still activate it after June 30, 04, pass will expire on June 06.

2. E-MAIL from UNIVERSAL - (while I was out) regarding first day parking and activation issue:

Thank you for your e-mail. You must pay for parking on your first visit.
(There is a guest drop off area, but they may not allow you to stop here to
process an annual pass.)

The second year free promotion passes must be activated (photo taken and
pass created by 30 June 2004) to get a full 2 year pass. (If you activate
your pass later than this date, your annual pass will expire on 30 June
2006.)

Unused Bonus Passes can be upgraded to annual passes at Guest Services at
Universal.

Best regards

Thanks, Jennylen!! Good to get an answer directly from those issuing the passes!!

1. BurgerKing Coupon on 2 for 1 deal? - I went to 2 BurgerKings at Orlando, coupons are at the counters.
2. Get Free Parking on first day? - Here is how I did it: Go to the park around 8pm and there is no parking attendant, I drove through and parked my car in garage (no attendant, no parking fee), then go have my photo taken.
3. I also found these many times at WDW: no attendant to collect parking fee if you go after 8-9pm. I have AP and it covers parkings.
4. ExpressPlus at Universal is $30 for current season (varies per season, demand).
5. Wait time at Unversal last week: no too bad, approx. 10-20 min. many shows or rides, less people in the mornings.
6. Waiting time at Universal last early July (03): 40min + for many many rides/shows
7. Magic Kingdom last week: park is packed with people, many manyl rides and shows are over 45min + wait time w/o fast pass. we left early and went to other park instead of standing in lines.

Hope this helps.
