AP section of WDW site

Can you register for the AP section of the WDW site with just the voucher or does the AP have to be activated in order to gain access to that site?

Yes, I did it with a voucher.

Thanks for the quick response! Can you check into your resort with voucher or does it have to be activate? If it has to be activated, can you do that at the resort or do you have to go the themepark or DTD guest relations before you check in?

I think you can only activate your pass at a theme park (maybe DTD). You are supposed to an activated pass to check in to your hotel. Most likely they will let you check in with a voucher and then you can return with your activated pass later that day.

When we went in July, I checked in with a voucher at Pop, then went to Epcot to activate and pick up DDE card. They never asked me to come back and show them the actual AP.

Thanks! I was able to check in the GF in 2002 w/the voucher. But when I ordered the AP with CRO a couple of nights ago, the CM said the new policy is to activate it first or you could be charged rack rate. That's why I got confused and was wondering what people's experiences have been.
