I am trying to decide if getting an AP will be worth it for us or not. We are going in December for 6 nights and probably again next March.

Could someone please tell me what the rates would be for Wilderness Lodge - std. room - for December 18-24?

Thanks very much!

As I understand it standard rates for that time have been gone for a long time. I had to take a woods view. i do not as of yet have an Annual so I cannot answer the cost for you. Good luck.

I already have a reservation for those dates with AAA in a standard room. If I get an AP, can I just switch to AP rates? If not, can anyone give me an idea of what AP rates would be for any kind of room at the WL for those dates?

I have never had an AP before and want to "look before I leap."

TIA to anyone with an AP who can help!! :goodvibes

Oops... need some info from you. How many in your party and what is the adult/kid mix? And how old are the kiddos?

I am paying $129 a night for our standard view rooms at WL for 12/19 - 12/26. I booked them on the Disney World site with the new Best Rate program for Annual Passholders. With tax they come to a tad over $143 each. That is for 2 adults in each room. As long as there are only children in the room other than the adults, that would be the correct price.

If you need to know more about the Best Rate Program, there are many threads on this Board that describe it in detail. Hope that helps! :wave2:

Thanks to you both! That's $70 off the room each night, total of $420 for 6 nights, which would pay for one AP. Seems like the AP is a good deal, even if we can use it only for one trip.

I checked on the WDW website and there were standard rooms available both for packages and as room-only. If you want a standard room, you might want to check again. :flower:

The Best Rate program is only good for check-ins by 12/19 :(.

Yes, you are right. That is the end of the Value Season and WDW often ends discounted room rates based on seasons.

Can you also tell me what is the courtyard view rate from December 7 - 16th?
:cheer2:
Thanks so much!

WDW has had discounts, especially for AP holders for check-ins through 12/24-12/26 in the past:

You are right, and we have gotten those discounts every year for the past 10 years! But this set of discounts on the Best Rate program seems to be tied to the end of Value Season, that is why I mentioned it that way.

That is not to say that WDW won't release other discounted AP rates later on this summer or fall for later arrivals.

For those who are still waiting for traditional AP discounts I hope that this will be the case again this year.

Me too! I just didn't want people to give up hope! FWIW, the Christmas discounts don't come out until August, so we have a few weeks left to fret.

I am staying WL for 9 nights best rate program, I just got the woods view for 1600 for 9 nights!! I just looked they did have rooms avab. and as long as you check in for the 18th...then you will get the discount for the whole stay.

Holy Cow, that sounds like a great rate??!! Or am I wrong? We don't go until May (regular season) and are debating whether to get an AP or not. We probably wouldn't go again within the 12 months.

So, is that about 35% off? I got a quote of $222 for a standard view for the 19th on the website.

Can we expect about the same percentage off during regular season in May?

Rack rate at WL for arrival on December 19, is $199 so the Best Rate quote I booked at $129 is just about a 35% discount. In all our years of traveling to WDW we have gotten AP discounts anywhere from 25%-52% so I would say this is pretty normal. However, with all the changes at Disney, who knows??? :confused3
