AP Rates for AFTER August 4th are...........

About 2yrs? ago, they did announce it. The date was on every site with everyone writing about it. I remember calling and being on hold that day. Was virtually on hold for over 2 hours. I would much rather do this. The ap rates where gone in minutes that where limited & few people got what they wanted if anything. It was a crazy. I believe they also release FLA residents the same day & that also was announced.

Ok, mkymouse4ever, you are right. Announcing the date would not be a good idea.

I should not have waited so long to book Aug 6 while waiting for AP discounts. I just never imagined I'd be clawing my way into Pop Century at rack rate. ;)

Must agree mkymouse4ever has a point. I guess they could let us on the Dis know the release date as we are such great Mickey fans (are you listening Disney?) ;) :rotfl:

Tinkerbellmagic, don't give up. Keep trying for the resort you want. People rearrange their schedules all the time. I am sure you will get the resort you are looking for even though you waited. It will just require a little work. As for AP rates, I think they will be out for the time frame we want but we just have to be patient. :)

Well, being in real estate, i had to be out of the house this morning by 5:45 am. I did call from my cell phone and got the same reply as everyone else did today.

I even called back at about 10AM.

I have a feeling here that was the same as June 06. That was when they bypassed June altogether. The same thing is happening now..that happened then. We all know when and about when these rates are to released. Back in early May 2006, was when the first red flag was raised when the AP rates for June 2006 were not out.

I think the same red flag is now flying. I have 2 reasons...1. the change of seasons. At most resorts, it is now a value season after August 4th, and #2. bookings must be up..up...up and they have no need to give the AP rate.

If the rates were to be out....they would have been out by now.
(I'm using reverse pshycology here...its working on me..how about you guys.?)

This is going to be agony for me! I am waiting for the next set of dates. I have booked AAA at Wilderness Lodge Ctyd View (Standard & Woods AAA Discount sold out) for 9/26-30. So if what the CMs have been saying is correct about August dates being released later than last year then Sept won't be released July after all. I can't imagine waiting much longer. I have been lurking everyday seeing if I can get a better discount. Last year, I got the general public discount for same dates released on July 10th.

One question since I don't have an AP yet (waiting to see if I can get a good deal if not I am getting a 10 day MYW) will I need it when I book? I know I have to have it when I check in correct?

Not usually, unless they start something else that is new?:confused3 You need the ap or vouchure, to acess the passholder site, and book online. But for the phone they have never asked me for it or number. However; this is also the first year, I had to give my AAA # to make a ressie with the AAA discount. So you never know, but worth trying.popcorn:: You should have it when you check in, but we have not always had to show it. I usually pull it out anyway.

I'm getting really annoyed about this.

I changed our AAA rate from the Yacht Club to the Carribean Beach (I just couldn't justify the $900 as much as I wanted to) and I have a room at ASMo through Disney,

I hope to get a Deluxe for about $200, last year we got the AKL, but it is not looking good at all here.

Thanks for the encouragement. :goodvibes

Sure wish those AP rates would come out. I think everyone would like to get their ME going and would like to know where they will really be staying. As for me, with no AP rates, I will book value or mod at rack, with the good possibility that that is where we will stay. Hard to believe Disney won't be trying to unload something during those weeks before free dining.

Well, *glug glug* Here's to Ack! August! :drinking1

Do you have AAA? It might be worth joining to get a discount. For one thing, we just got a 10% discount at Payless for shoes last week and you can get a discount at NY& CO store, too. Not to mention other discounts. If you are going for 7 nights in August (we are), we saved $114.80 off the week. AAA membership (especially for just one adult, we have 2 adults and it's still well under $100) is cheaper than that. They didn't ask me for my membership # when I booked this time. But they seem to be asking some people. If nothing else, book with AAA discount, tell them you just joined and don't have your card yet and will show it upon check in. Then, if the AP codes come out, you can change to that. If they don't, then get a AAA membership before you go. It's worth a try. We booked a value FYI for 20% off rack rates.

As the days march along and the threat of a bonified Ack! August hovers over us, I am losing hope. While I still hold out for some last minute pixie dust, it won't be easy IF the AP rates do come out since most of us have plane arrangements made and will be scrambling to find resorts/dates that will coincide without loosing our dings or dongs and I'm feeling like a ding dong right about now anyway, waking up at the crack of dawn to check and see if today is the day.

I gave up and booked rack, still holding onto that little ray of sunshine for an AP rate for early August. :sunny:

Ok, so if Disney grants our AP wishes, I want to see this thread filled with dancing bananas, woohoo guys, cool dancing dudes in sunglasses, cheering chics, dancing maids, bands, jumping heads, and all of it! We've been so freaking patient! :crazy2:

You know whats scary? Things are starting to become unavailable for my dates, which is really not good for AP rates. I would be unable to check into Coronado Springs (this has been unavailable for quite some time) Contemporary, Beach Club Villas, Wilderness Lodge villas and Animal Kingdom Lodge. At the moment I have rack rate at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Sending some more :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for us all, but its not looking good.

 ACK! AUGUST :crazy2:
Yes, that has worried me also. For my dates, availability has been slim pickins. Right now, the only rack availability for my dates is at the following:

Value
Pop - preferred only
Assp

Mod
POR
POFQ
CBR
CSR - king bed only

Deluxe And now availability starts to get really ugly
BWI
WL - courtyard only
YC - water pool view only

AKL - booked solid for quite some time
BC - booked solid
CR - booked solid for quite some time
GF - booked solid
POLY - booked solid

So why would they offer AP discounts with these stats?
I find it odd that all I have been getting for weeks now at CSR is king bed availability only. I went and booked Pop. I can be happy there. Sure, I'd rather go deluxe and after that, I'd rather go mod, but I can be happy at Pop thinking of the money I saved. DGS will love it. We stayed there one night in 2004 and he still talks about the creepy Legendary Years. Guess I better go join the August Popper's Club. :)
tink *still reserves right to post dancing bananas if rates come through*

 ACK! AUGUST :crazy2:

If the free dining packages booked up a lot of rooms, that will also play into whether discounts are offered and when they are offered.
