AP Rates for AFTER August 4th are...........

I was getting worried about availability, so if there are no AP rates tomorrow, I am going to book rack.

I tried to book a room only online today, but one statement at the top of the page says you need to cancel before 45 days out to get a refund, but under the terms and conditions, it says 6 days out, which I had assumed was the correct policy. Seeing the 45 day policy in writing at the top of the page, though, I didn't go through with the ressie, but will call to book tomorrow.

Can't believe how long this is taking for AP info. What worries me is that the availability for my dates (right after Aug 5) does not show a whole lot of availability anyway, so getting a tad worried. Oh well, hoping for tomorrow.

Hey Disney,

Right now I am holding a reservation at Portofino Bay, but will change to one of your deluxes if you offer AP rates.

There, that should work. :thumbsup2

I think that they are booked enough that they are not going to release any discounts for that time frame or free dining would have been offered.

They offered AP rates last Aug/Sep during the free DDP, so don't think that makes a difference. My fear is that they are working so hard at the new 2008 reservation system that is to go in effect next week (6/23) for reservations in 2008, that they forgot to take care of us AP holders. I remember a couple of years when they were starting the best guest promotion they didn't allow for October and no AP discounts were released for the entire month (maybe a day or two at the beginning that stretched from a earlier promotion). And the year before that Oops October (aka--the black hole), they forgot the entire month of September. I've checked for early and mid-August several times and there still seems to be alot of availability. If they offered moderates during July when it was busy, I'm sure there will be some AP discounts, maybe not all of the resorts, but some would be released. One thing about Disney is that they love to keep us guessing.

I had a garden wing room with AAA discount at Contemporary. I kept trying to get one in the Tower but no luck. Nothing available. Today, I was hoping for that AP discount. I called and the answer was no but when I asked about the AAA rate, it was available in the tower for the MK view and Bay view. I was so happy. I feel better now. An AP rate though would put the cream on my cake. So.... I'll keep trying. :) Here hoping for tomorrow. :tinker:

I think you are 100% correct. As i have said before, for those of us waiting for an AP rate for a "monorail" resort...fugettaboutit.

The other factor this year as oppose to last year...is the season's change. They restructured all of their seasons.

With the CR construction on going, all the conventions are being booked at the GF and POLY. I got this from a CM reservation person over Memorial Day Weekend at POP.

I think those who are waiting for Mods or Values...you will be fine.

Looks like that black hole "Oops October" incident could turn into an "Ack! August" for us AP holders. I hope not. :scared:

I'm another hoping AP/FL res rates come out.

I finally went ahead and booked today (aug 16 - 19) at the Beach club using AAA rate, but I'd love for the rate to go down a little more!

I just stayed at PBH a few weeks ago. Keep your ressie, that place is phenomenal!!!!

:rotfl: Have you noticed how good DISers are at coming up with new names for every incident, this just made me giggle!

Just got off the phone with a CM and the rates are not out today!!!! When I asked if she knew when they would be released, she said to try back in July b/c they usually do not come out until a few weeks before the other code expires??????::confused3 What??

I pointed out to her that in the last few years the rates were released by the first of June! She did not respond to my comment but said again.. "Not today." I guess they may be getting a little tired of all the questions? Oh well, until tomorrow....

Thank you so much for calling, I'd do it but it is really difficult for me.

Thanks for calling/posting. I got sidetracked this morning, and forgot all about waiting for the codes. Hopefully tomorrow!

Do you think they are trying to force non-AP holders from getting an AP just for the discount. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I have a Package Res now, but will cancel it if I can get an AP discount. I currently don't have an AP. But I'm quickly aproching the 45 day window where it will cost me a fee to cancel my Res. If they wait until July, then I'm sticking with my Package Res.

Oh well, we're going to Disney no matter what!!

I am sure that they know eventually people will give up on waiting for a code and just go ahead and book, thus filling presently empty rooms. If enough rooms are full they won't offer a discount.

I'm holding out as well for the AP discount, especially for my long stay in September. Sigh. Hope the come out soon!

Oh, this news is disheartening. Boy it sure does seem they are trying to discourage AP users from dreaming about room discounts. But that won't stop the phone calls. ;) Heehee.

I hem hawed so long without booking, with no one to blame but myself, trying to decide between the first week of Aug and last week of Aug, that Pop is no longer available for my early Aug dates as of yesterday. :(

For those of us going that first week of Aug around the 6th right when any new discounts should start, it is slim rack rate pickins already. For my dates, CSR is king bed only, AKL has not been available for some time, and BC only has a 1 bedroom suite available. Luckily, the other 3 mods are available. Also available for my dates are ASMu and ASSports, but everything else deluxe is out of my price range.

Wouldn't it be nice, not to mention efficient, if on the Passholder page, Disney would say something like, "New Discounts will be available on June 20. Watch for them." Heck, would it kill them to give us a sneak peak/hint like, "Always wanted to stay in the Epcot resort area? Stay tuned!"

I don't know. Sometimes I feel like they treat us like kids, "Can I have a lollipop now?" "No, not today." "Can I have a lollipop tomorrow?" "You cannot have a lollipop until I have given most of them away." "When will that be?" "Not today." :upsidedow

I need to book something today. Everything is filling up. Kind of takes the fun out of the whole "resort choosing/labor of love/sweet agony" when you don't get a deal. Oh well, Disney never promised me a rose garden, but a Mickey topiary would be nice. :)

Good idea, it would also stop some of the CMs getting cranky at all the callers asking if the rates are out :thumbsup2
