AP Rates for AFTER August 4th are...........

I find it odd that all I have been getting for weeks now at CSR is king bed availability only. I went and booked Pop. I can be happy there. Sure, I'd rather go deluxe and after that, I'd rather go mod, but I can be happy at Pop thinking of the money I saved. DGS will love it. We stayed there one night in 2004 and he still talks about the creepy Legendary Years. Guess I better go join the August Popper's Club. :)
tink *still reserves right to post dancing bananas if rates come through*

 ACK! AUGUST :crazy2:

Remember that CSR is a convention hotel. Easy to see how it could sell out. And probably A LOT of folks doing conventions at Disney bring families so the "King' room is not as desireable.

You know whats scary? Things are starting to become unavailable for my dates, which is really not good for AP rates. I would be unable to check into Coronado Springs (this has been unavailable for quite some time) Contemporary, Beach Club Villas, Wilderness Lodge villas and Animal Kingdom Lodge. At the moment I have rack rate at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Sending some more :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for us all, but its not looking good.

I think many people are holding onto duplicate reservations hoping for a AP/FL rate. I am holding onto 3 reservations for 8/16-8/19 myself.

I know for part of my stay in September, I was looking at CSR and there is an IRS convention I think. Someone found the booking deadline for them is 8/16. So there are still rooms held there for that.

My family is booked at the GF from Nov 8-Nov 13. Online is showing everything deluxe and almost everything moderate sold out for a room that holds four people. I think unfortunately any AP rates that come out are probably only going to be for value.

Hope I'm wrong.

Do a lot of people do this? If you do this, don't you have to put deposits down on all 3 reservations? I'm guessing that you just cancel 2 and then move those deposits to the remaining reservation that you do keep? How long will you keep these for before you give up on the AP or FL rate?

I didn't realize people did this. Is this hurting our chances of actually getting the AP or FL rates to come out?? The system thinks these rooms are booked so why should they give out the AP/FL rates? If only a very few people do this, then it shouldn't really affect the grand scheme; but I don't know how many people do the same thing. I only know that I don't.

The cow is out of the barn. So its YOU that is causing all of this AP anguish??? shame on you. ( only teasing.)

I did not think that you could have continuous reservations going at the same time. 2 years ago we were undecided between CBR and POR. I wanted to book both and was told flat out NO.

BTW, if there are no AP rates out this week....August is getting past over. This is getting too late in the game now. The warning flags are up and flying into a stiff breeze that is not letting up.

Sorry for the confusion-- I only have one through WDW travel. The others are through AAA. Yes, I have deposits (one night) on all of them. 2 of 3 will be cancelled-- one probably sooner than the other, I will hold onto the Disney one and one AAA until 6 days out unless we hear for sure that there will be no AP/FL rates.

We are going with a group of 5 other families, and at least 3 of them are also holding multiple reservations waiting for a discount.

i think that is ignorant and selfish and it distorts the real picture and could cause them to not put out codes. it also keeps others from getting the reservation they want. i feel the same about people who book duplicate ADR's using different phone numbers and then just go to the one they finally decide on. sorry if this makes you mad but i am sure if they caught you they would not let you do it. why does everyone always have to try to beat the system regardless of who else it affects?:sad2:

What is the purpose of having three reservations?

Is it because you are unable to make up your mind on which resort you want to stay at?

If discount rates are released, having an existing reservation doesn't help in obtaining the discounted rate.

I'm sincerely curious, as I can't see any benefit to doing this?

I don't see the sense in making multiple reservations! That will most diffently stop codes from being released. If, Disney thinks all the resorts are full, then why issue a code to fill the resort? Do people even think anymore? People have to know where they want to stay... IF a code is released, what, they think they will have a confirmed reservaton to apply the code to? If this is fact... then Disney needs to make it a rule that a code can only be applied to a new reservation. That would stop some of this overbooking. :confused3

Oh, goody, the Passholder site is malfunctioning on me this a.m. (repeatedly going to the "My Vacation" page when I click on "Make a Reservation") Maybe today is the Day
:yay:

Yes.

You are correct. But it does put us in the system and if discounts are released I can transfer my room.

And because there is now a good chance I can't afford the room I want, I have a backup reservation.

And as for dalt01 calling names, is that really necessary?

Just called tuesday = "not yet" so everyone go back to sleep.:confused3

Thanks for calling.

I am not a moderator. BUT, I started this thread with the sole intention of what 99.9 % of us are doing...calling and informing everyone else of when / if AP rates are coming out. (and sharing in our miseries that there may be no AP Rates. Its like a support group..)

Please stay away from any type of debate and / or name calling in this thread. I dont want to see it shut down. There is a debate thread that you can go on and voice your opinion there. If you feel thats what you have to do, Please do so. Thank you.

Fizz13: I've got to say that looking at your picture of Orlando Bloom, and the thought of him and Johnny Depp larger than life on the silver screen together, well, let's just say that the lack of a code sort of slipped my mind.:lmao:

I'm sorry, especially to "mamaminnie" and anyone else just waiting for the codes; I didn't mean to start a debate. I was just curious if anyone else had multiple ressies and I guess not. So, it's a minority and as I said, it won't affect much in the "grand scheme".

Again, I'm sorry and now back to our regular programming....the AP CODES!! Oh, yeah, not out today. :sad1:

Tink,

My comment wasnt directed at you. :goodvibes

Your post didnt call someone "ignorant and selfish".
