We *just* got our first ever AP's. :) Yaay!

We're looking at planning another DL trip sometime before May. Likely April because it's my oldest's birthday then - and the I-5 roads are safer in southern OR and northern CA.

Does anyone know when the April (or May) AP rates will be available online? Or does anyone have any idea of what approximate cost it will be during that time? I know the end of March seems very high - but was hoping it was due to Spring Break peak.

Also, DH & I stayed at PPH once in 2001 - it was ok, but not our fave. We usually stay at DLH and like it there even though it's dated. We just stayed at the GCH and really didn't feel like we got our money's worth for the extra cost over the DLH, so we'll likely go back to staying at the DLH. Can someone tell me what the perks are of staying Concierge at the DLH are exactly? I know roughly - continental breakfast, snacks, etc - but what sort of foods are there, and can you take food out of the concierge lounge with you - and is there a limit?

There's 5 of us, and with constantly hungry kids it might be nice if we could grab snacks for the day/evening.

Thanks!

We did the concierge service at the DLH back in Oct 2007. We got a fantastic AP rate and really enjoyed the lounge. There is an exclusive elevator up to the lounge that my girls STILL talk about.

There is a giant fridge filled with little dasani water bottles, coke products (coke, diet coke, maybe sprite) and minute maid apple juice boxes. The attendants can also provide you with milk if you ask. You may take 2 drinks per guest each time you visit the lounge and let me tell you we definitely took advantage of this, taking lots of items into the park and back to our room.

In the morning, there is a pretty decent continental breakfast with lots of fruit, cereal, bagels, muffins, yogurt and some type of cereal bars I think.

In the afternoon there are snacks you can also grab and take to the parks, including uncrustable sandwiches, granola bars and fruit.

The early evening offers a light warm appetizer (it was not exciting, some finger food non descript product) and wine or beer I think. We enjoyed this too.

In the evening they bring out desserts including mickey rice crispy treats, cookies, and other goodies. You can see fireworks from the loungue and the view in general was amazing. Also, if you do conciege your room will most likely be in the Dream tower and will have a DVD player in the room (DLH does not have this in all rooms like GCH) We had a DTD view, just a floor below the lounge and it was the best room I ever had at DLH.

I agree with you, btw, regarding the value of GCH. It is lovely but my dh and kids prefer the DLH ambiance and while dh liked GCH and might select it if price were equal, he just does not see the value in the extra cost.

Enjoy your APs . You will find yourself planning lots more trips than you think ;)

My dd, and I stayed Dlh conceirge in oct. The breakfast offered nice continental items, afternoon was just uncrustables, and like goldfish crackers nothing to write home about in the afternoon. The wine hour was cheese, and crackers, and I believe it was only 1 hot app. The dessert evening offered pretty much same things each night. Cookies, little mickey krispie treats, brownie, and tiny eclairs. You get to have someone help with dining arrangements. It was nice, but guess I thought there would be more choices. From what I have seen, and read GCH offers a bit morr choices on conceirge lvl. I also don't believe they offer a special AP rate during that time due to spring break, and easter other than the normal 10%.
