AP Rate- Would this be too stressful to save $150?

We are going for 10 nights arriving on Thanksgiving Day. At the moment I have the ASmo, which is where we prefer to stay.

I could keep my room for the first night, and then on the 2nd night switch to ASmu for the next 9 nights. This would mean, having to check out and check back in to two different hotels on our first first full day.

Although we like the AS Movies, we are not in our room much. What is everyone's opinion. For $150, is it two much work. I keep thinking thats a dinner and a lunch. But I also keep thinking its a VACATION too. It seems like too much work. I love saving money, so the prospect is killing me.

Any thoughts Pro or Con would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Melanie

since you're going Disney to Disney, the CMs should make it pretty seemless for you...I'd say $150 is $150....and it's only day 2, you don't really have to unpack even for Day 1.

I've switched resorts often! In fact, my upcoming 10 night trip in December will be at three resorts!

I am staying at WL for the first two nights, then a studio at OKW for three nights, then five nights at BCV. It's practically painless.

I think you have it easier. It's easier to live out of a suitcase for one day than to partially unpack a little for a few days at a time. Still, the resorts will move the luggage for you.

I usually call Bell Services the night before to arrange a pickup. The next morning, I usually call back an hour before pickup to confirm. When they arrive, they will issue a claim ticket for your luggage.

Make sure you have what you need to carry to the parks, and you can head out directly to one for the day. You can check into the All Stars after 4pm, or arrive earlier to get your resort ID.

If your room is ready, you can check in with Bell Services with your luggage claim. Unfortunately, they only deliver at their convenience at the All Stars, which is usually once an hour.

Here's what I think...It's not too much work to switch and it's worth switching for $150. based on the "work" it will take to swithc, BUT....if you prefer Movies, then to me, it's worth $150. to stay put in 1 hotel, the hotel you really want to begin with.

I am staying at the Movies, even though we could get a lower rate at Sports or Music because I really want to stay at Movies...so if Movies is your first choice, and given the slight hassel of the move, if you can afford, stick with your first choice.

Does that make sense?

I agree 100% I too am staying at ASMo because of the All Stars this is the one I want to stay in, the others hold no interest for me.

Can't you just stay at ASMu instead of switching if you really want to save money?

My advice would be if you want to stay at ASMo then just stay there. I was in the situation were I really wanted to stay at CBR but couldn't justify spending the extra $600 but when it came down to it I did it. I love to have the best deal and can't imagine paying over $300 a night for a room specially when we stay for 2 weeks. I didn't think I would go for CBR but I just made my ressies and tell myself there's no turning back now. I'm sticking w/ it and refuse to tell myself that I could have used the extra money for something else.Like a 3 day cruise maybe? No if you really want to stay at Movies then forget about the $150 and stay there.

I would stay at the Music the whole time and use the $150 for something else.

If the music was available on Thanksgiving night that would be a easier decision. Unfortunately all 3 value resorts are sold out on Thanksgiving. I do have the AsMo booked now. I think we are leaning towards just keeping our reservations as they are now. I agree with the other poster that the other two (Music & Sports) do nothing for me. There is something about the movies that we love. The kids love it as well.

Thanks for everyones opinions.

I would stay with Movies. It is the resort you prefer and is "Part of the Magic." Go with what your family will enjoy most. $150.00 isn't "that" much money and you will have better memories!:D
