AP/FL Discounts - any point in calling again?

And again, and again? Wouldn't you know, the AP rates came out the morning I was away from the computer until 10am. When I got through, "Kevin" told me if I'd only called 2 hours earlier, I'd have gotten the AP rate on my Poly res. and saved "a lot of money". GRRRR! Yesterday, I wasn't on a computer until 9am. When I got to one, I quickly discovered that FL resident rates had come out that morning. Again, I was too late.

SO, based on prior experience, is there any point in calling back to see if maybe cancellations have opened something up? My res isn't until 12/2, so I have plenty of time. When do cancellations "fall off" - is there an optimum time and day to give this a try? Are you afraid to answer this for fear of letting too many people in on the game?! ;) Thanks!

Definitely call back!! I think most people hold a reservation and then consider it. That being said, deposits on reservations made in the last few days would be due by the last week in August. Keep trying back and perhaps some people won't be confirming some of the reservations they tentatively held.

Good luck!

You can also check on the Disney website as well. FL res rates are bookable online, I think AP are too. I think people will be changing their minds so more reservations should open up. You can try a different range of dates or day by day as well.

You may want to check on the public package code as well. It may be cheaper just to take a package with 1 day base tickets instead of rack rates.

Thanks - I never even considered a MYW package since we all have AP's. Great suggestion!

I didn't see the codes until later that night and didn't get a chance to call until the next morning. There were slim pickings left under either Fl resident or AP. As in the past, *never* give up calling. We've been shut out of a resort only to keep calling and calling to check and have always secured something, sometimes a mere two weeks before leaving.
