Of course I just ordered MM 10 days ago when I booked ME. I never figured they would give it free with a RO res. And it is non-refundable, like a ticket is what the res line told me when I went to apply this new AP deal. He said to try Ticket Services Monday to see if they would refund it. I don't understand why they don't refund it, I am not going for 80 days. But if they consider it a ticket, I at least want to be able to apply it to a future trip and use the free one now, because I would be able to do that with a ticket. I should have waited to buy it but I just figured I would finish up all the last minute details at once. Anyone have any luck getting MM refunded or "deferred"?

can someone help me - I'm probably not thinking totally straight.

I am going from 5/10 thru 5/18/14 (Off bounceback) - thinking about buying an AP because I want to go 5/2-10/15. In 2015 I want to stay at the Yacht (special trip for niece) - how often is the Yacht not available when the AP comes out?

My options are:

I could book a bounceback on 2014 May trip for November of this year and then book a bounceback in November for Yacht next May but unless I can get air cheap - currently around 400.00 rd. trip I don't see that happening.

Or go ahead and get the AP and hope that the Yacht is available when the AP discounts open next year.

Which option would you do?

Here is what I see on the MouseSavers historical discount chart for the last 3 years of AP discounts. As expected, the deluxe resorts will have the higher discount. In 2012 the discount came out on July 12th and 2013 it came out on July 11th.

2011: 8/14/11-10/1/11 flat rate room-only discounts (about 21%-40%) for Annual Passholders
2012: 8/17/12-9/29/12 25%-35% off Annual Passholder room-only rates
2013: 8/16/13-9/26/13 5%-35% off Annual Passholder room-only rates

Generally, but it's hard to say. Depending on availability they may block out a specific resort from the discount on certain days. But I'd say it is more likely that one of those resorts would be available with either the AP, General Public Room Rate, or Visa (if you are a card holder).

ap discounts for the hotel rooms come out thoughout the year.
right now they are out for most of october/mid october.
they do increase previously released dates occasionally

it varies each year for the release dates.

other discounts are released for the entire year or parts of the year with more dates added when they are trying to fill rooms.

usually they have specific rooms on discount. Standard goes quick, but last summer it was pool view at AKL

I'm waiting on later in August too. In 2012 and 2013, AP rates were extended for the rest of August around July 11th/12th.

They haven't released the AP discounts for any dates beyond 8/2. They were most likely quoting the GP Summer discount that is/was out at that time that went into late August.

FYI passholders! We were able to apply our ap discount today to our reservation sept 24-28 discounts are released to Sept 27!

Been calling twice weekly for several weeks!
