If i book an AP discount for the swan and dolphin do I need to have my AP activated prior to checking into my hotel. This will be my first time getting an AP. My understanding is that if I buy this online I will only recieve a voucher and need to go to guest relations for activation. Does that mean I have to go to a park before checking into my resort. That seems like it will be a real pain. BTW staying at the swan and dolphin so that may complicate things even further.

I have had an AP for about 12 years and I have never seen discounts for Swan and Dolphin. Regardless, no you do not have to have actually AP tickets for the discount. If they ask your voucher will serve as proof. The voucher is exchanged at guest relations at any park for the annual passholder ticket.

you sure? don't think there is an AP discount for swan

I've never heard of the Swolphin offering AP-discounted rates.

I got this info from the main website for the Disboards, wdwinfo.com:

The Swan and Dolphin Resorts are located in the heart of Walt Disney World. These award winning resorts are located between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios with Disney's Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom theme parks close by.

*Discount for Teacher / Education Support Staff, US Government Employee/Military and Nurses. Based on hotel availability and not all dates are available. Other great discounts offered to Annual Passholders, AAA/AARP and Entertainment Book members.

So it appears there are discounts available to AP holders. A search of the boards also brings up a couple threads dealing with this.

The last time I stayed there (a few years ago) there was an AP discount. I had the nice people at the Swan/Dolphin reservation number run the numbers for me. The teacher discount was better, so I do not have personal experience in using it. But yes, there is an AP discount.:thumbsup2
