AP Codes are up!

I just called and the AP rate saved me about $50 over the AAA rate for my 3 night stay in a waterview room at CSR. I didn't qualify for the meal card as we are checking in during the blackout dates (Nov 9). It was worth the 20 minutes I spent on the phone I guess.

For the heck of it, I checked availability at the Poly. They only had lagoon view for $1400 for 3 nights. No thanks.

Just got off the phone w/ CRO. (well, at least my mother did) According to them, the AP rate rooms are booked for all of the mod resorts EXCEPT CSR.:sad2: We WERE able to book 2 rooms at CBR w/ the rate you get w/ the pin code, which made the rooms 129/night rather than the 124/night AP rate.

(Nothing against Coronado, but during T'givings past, that is where the All Star cheerleaders practiced for the T'giving day parade, soooo....no thanks.:cheer2: )

:thumbsup2 Finally, after 2 &1/2 hours of being on the phone with Disney, 2 calls, I have changed our original ressie @ WL SV 12-16 to 12-22 to the POFQ 12-14 to 12-19. After speaking to 3 CM's it was very clear that there would probably NOT be an AP or FL rate available for our dates. Plus they are using the new pricing policy and that would put a few of our days in Holiday season price catagory :scared1:. So we were able to get FQ for $105a night plus got the $50 FREE gift card  We LOVE both resorts but felt the $ saved was well worth the change. I plan on calling every few days to see if the WL opens any rooms to the discount. If not we will be eating Bengets (? spelling) every morning for breakfast :woohoo: :woohoo: GOOD LUCK to everyone, hope you all get the room/resort of your dreams:wizard:

I just got off the phone with a very pleasant cm. I saved around $240 and get a $50 dining card... not too shabby for Beth!

10/30-11/3 POFQ $139.50 (with tax) down from ~$185
11/3-11/6 ASMU $89.27 (with tax) down from~$111

:thumbsup2

Just wanted to put a bug in everyone's ear to maybe send an email to WDW and let them know how great it is that we, as passholders, are getting room perks and the gift cards. I think if they hear an appreciation for it, it might help for future promotions and/or rates. You never know ... it can't hurt!

I think that's a great idea. After all the chaos when they raised their rates I was surprised to see such a good offer today. Going to email right now :)

What email address do we use?

Saved $427 at CR - Updated with e-mail specifics from Disney:

3 adults
Dates: 12/15 - 12/22 (7 nights)
Resort: CR, Atrium Club
Code/Discount: AP, room only (FEX)

Original Cost incl. taxes: $4,016.25 (all nights at Value rate)
AP Cost 5 Value nights and 2 Holiday nights with AP discount: $3,588.74

AP Cost breakdown:
5 nights @ $415 each plus tax
2 nights @ $470 each plus tax

Plus getting $75 dining gift card!!!

***Minus $100 or so additional to renew AP we still come out way ahead and this means we'll renew our DDE card as well (the card's discount covers tips, drinks etc.).

We feel especially lucky since there haven't been any AAA discounts for the CR Atrium Club since we booked our room last January. This was really our only chance given that we don't want the Dining Plan or any package with concierge.

Thank goodness for these boards! We saved enough money to cover our airfare!:woohoo:

Yeah, that ain't happening. I'm not gonna gripe about it, but I sure as heck am not about to praise Disney either. This has been the most disappointing year I have seen for AP discounts. Considering I was on the phone with CRO literally as they were released this morning and there was still nothing they could do for my dates, I'm not exactly "appreciative".

Maybe you should send an "I appreciate the way things USED to be" email.;)

I called earlier today from work on my cell and got a great CM. I got WL courtyard for $225 for 9-15 December. I'm excited! We haven't been in December for 5 years and we always said if we come back in December, we want to stay at WL (we've never stayed there).

We also got the dining card. I'm confused about the card after reading a few posts. Is this a card that has a $75 credit that we use for dining or is it a free DDE card?

Thanks!

Yeah, where's that "Debbie Downer" image when you need it? ;)

The card is a nice bonus that they did not have to do! If Disney discounted every room, every day, service would go down the toilet...

May I ask about the $50 dining card? I was on the phone todaychecking AP rates and nothing was mentioned of that. Special dates or what?

Thanks so much!! :flower3:

I just booked online thru the Passholder website: CBR, standard room $124 per night! Oct. 12-20 :cool1:

(We originally had ressies for POFQ, but no AP discount was available, so we switched resorts.)

I have to tell everyone that this round of AP discounts has really confused the heck out of me. It has also seemed to confuse some of the CMs at CRO as well.

I found out that there are other codes involved other than the published FEX and FDV codes. The CM I just spoke with gave me FFB and FFC. She said FFB is an AP code for value resorts for the free dining card and FFB was for moderate and deluxe AP codes with the dining card. These codes were totally new to me. What was even more strange was that these codes opened up different AP discounts at other resorts.

For example FEX had only Beach Club available, but when she plugged in FFC Coronado Springs became available with the dining card. I couldn't believe it because I didn't see any trace of these codes published on the DIS. Maybe I missed it though.

I would also add that I'm completely disappointed with the available AP rates. Resorts are very limited in what they are making available to AP holders. I hope this is a one time instance and doesn't become a trend for future AP rates.

When I called CRO this morning to switch my 2 rooms from AAA to AP discount, I was not told by the CM I talked to that there had to be an AP passholder in each room. I made my room reservations back in March with the AAA discount. So the CM I talked to today applied the AP discount to both rooms. Oldest DS, DDIL, and grandkids will be in one room (no AP among any of them), and youngest DS (age 15) and me (who both have APs)will be in another.

What would you do in this case?

If we check in and the CM at the resort asks oldest DS & family for an AP, they will not have one. I hate to think if they will not honor the AP rate that we will have lost our AAA discount and will have to pay rack rate for his room.

Could we juggle the names on the rooms so I am in one room and youngest DS is in another room (since we both have APs) even though youngest DS is only 15?:confused3

This same thing happened to me yesterday. We also had booked with AAA previously and had 3 rooms. The CM booked all 3 with just my DH's AP. When I started reading here on the boards I got nervous so called back. Sure enough I did have to book the second room with my AP and the third room went back to just the AAA discount. (hoping a general code will be better) The second CM I talked to did not change the names on our rooms. She said we just had to show an AP for each AP booked room at check-in. I think you'll be ok but I would call back and make sure your 15 year old DGS's AP is alright to book with. I'm not sure what the rules are concerning a child's pass. Post back if they make you change the names in the rooms around so I can call and set mine right. I swear each CM you talk to tells you something different. It gets so frustrating. Also, make sure you check the dates for those free dining cards. We were able to get 2 $50 ones with our two AP bookings. And good luck!

If Disney discounted every room, every day, service would go down the toilet...

23,000 rooms on property. I think they could discount a handful of those and service wouldn't suffer.
