AP and non-expiring ticket on same account?

I usually have an AP. But for my last trip, my AP expired one day before we were leaving. So I used a day from a 10 day non-expiring ticket and I linked it to my account. For my next trip, I'll have my new AP and my 10 day ticket linked to my account. Has anyone tried using their Magic Band for park entry in this situation? Is the system "smart" enough to use the AP before ticket days? Or should I just go into the park using my AP card? Seems like it should work on the Magic Band but I didn't want to find out afterwards that all my ticket days were used!

The system is definitely not smart enough to use the AP before the non-expiry ticket. The best insurance policy is the one you've outlined, using your AP for park entry instead of your MB. You can also go to guest services and ask that they remove your non-expiry and place it on an RFID ticket instead.

Someone told me you can go to ticket booth & they can "prioritize" the tickets so entries can be pulled from the "right" place. I have not done this first hand, as of yet, but plan to try this when I go the end of July. I am a bit hesitant to put all our cards on one MDE because I am afraid it will get messed up & be hard to straighten things out. My DD & I currently have an AP voucher that we will be activating when we arrive AND 2-day base tickets (as part of our FD package for Dec) on the MDE account. ALSO, we have 2 days left at the water parks on a NE ticket. I have not linked this ticket yet. Looking for advice...would be the best way to keep all these straight? We plan to save the 2-day base tickets to use towards renewing AP or visits after the year is up.

The CM that had to straighten out my ticket use told me i should have checked with Guest Serices before I tried to enter the park with both types of tickets on the card. I have the weekday Florida resident pass and a non expiring one with a couple of days left. I thought the Fl pass was first and that we had deactivated the non expiring one but when I entered the park on a Monday it took a day off the the non expiring one. The CM was not as magical as he could have been but in the end did give me a day back by attaching a comp ticket to my magic band so now I have three types of ticket on it. He put the FL ticket first and the others second and said that when I went in it would try that one first and then go to the other ones. I did tell him he made my day more magical by doing that before I went off to enjoy the park. I only found it out because I checked MDE online and checked the days remaining on the ticket that Tuesday before I went to a park. Good luck and have a good trip.

Makes me wonder if I should unlink AP and just use a card instead of the prioritize option?!?
