Do you know who can get the DVC AP and DDP discount? Is it only for the names on the contract? What about children (over or under 18) and other relatives if they are staying in the room?

Thanks!

The DVC discount on the AP is only available to immediate family residing at the same address as the member (it has nothing to do with a reservation).

The DDP is available to and must be purchased for all guests staying in the villa for the entire length of the stay.

Doc, I am a DVC owner and not familiar with this new dining plan. I understand it came out last year after my March 2006 visit. Where do I find out info on it and what is AP?
Thanks

AP is Annual Pass.

With the Annual Pass you can purchase a DDE Card
(Disney Dining Experience Card). It does cost $60.00 per year.
It entitles you and 9 guests to 20% off dining -including drinks.

It is different then the DDP.

If you are talking about the Disney Dining Plan go to the Restaurant Board here ( up at the top). There's so much info there it's incredible.

The DDP is well worth it.

The DDE card is only good for table service meals. not counter service. But it is a good value.

In most cases, that is true. However, it isgood for counter service at Animal Kingdom and the value resorts, as there are no table service restaurants at these locations.

We used the DDP last year and thought it was perfect. We are new DVC owners and are very happy that they are offering the DDP to us! We will definately purchase it again. Do we purchase the DDP through the membership service?

When you make your reservation with MS you can add the dining plan - for all nights and all people on the reservation. You pay for it at check in. You can add it any time up to a couple of days before check in but it must be added before you get to the check in desk.

We have our trip booked. I can just call and add the DDP? Also, can I pay for it before my trip? I also want to purchase the AP. Do I do that through MS as well. I am hoping to use the AP for 3 trips. Our first trip is May 6, our second is September 9th. If I book our third trip next April 08, then I can take advantage of the AP 3 times!!!! Our points renew in April.

Yes, just call Member Services to add the DDP to your existing reservations, but you pay for it at check-in. MS has no way to accept pre-payments. You can purchase an AP through MS, but it will still need to be activated at Guests Services at DtD or pone of the parks. So unless there is a pressing need to pre-pay or pre-purchase, it is just as easy to buy your pass in person at guest services. Be sure to have your blue membership card when activating or purchasing your AP.

OK. So then there is no need to get the AP through MS. I can bring my card and purchase it the day I arrive? I will be at SSR. So the place to do that would be, DTD or any park? And I will simply call and add the DDP any time before my trip. No pressing issue, I am just one of those annoying people that have to do things RIGHT NOW!!!! I drive my husband nuts! :rotfl2:

I see lots of people waiting until April for when Disney supposedly might release the free dining package again as they have in the past. If you book the dining package through MS with your DVC ressie, do you not get the advantage of the free dining package because you are not booking a rack rate room, or do they offer the free dining to DVC members as well. I can't imagine they do, but thought I would ask anyway!

Free dining is not available to DVC point reservations or MS cash reservations, nor is it available to AP discounted rooms...only to full rprice rack rate rooms booked through CRO as part of package with park tickets.

Thanks Chuck! I thought this was the case! Still, it is a great deal for me and my family and we will probably take advantage of it and be very happy it is offered at all with DVC point stays!

Pardon my ignorance, but what is "CRO" when referring to booking?
